Hyundai is becoming the more upscale brand over Kia. Then obviously Genesis the luxury brand. Similar to Chevy

The Palisade is better built becomes it's built in South Korea with far better quality control than the Telluride that is built in the US at the Georgia plant. Cars built in NA are crap and it was a huge mistake for import brands to bring the assembly lines here to the US. You can clearly see the quality difference as you've experienced. However, despite the Telluride being built here, it is still far superior to the rubbish American car brands. GM products etc..

The only thing I like more about the Palisade is the digital dash. Everything else looks way better in the Kia version. That push button transmission and the ugly front end in the Palisade made me go with the Telluride instead. The rest of the car is pretty much the same, they both drove similarly on the test drive. For some reason the Palisade has more discount than the Telluride, maybe the Telluride has higher demand who knows

I think the yellow running lights on the Telluride are ugly.

@@michaelfinley9988 That’s a common complaint but the plus side is, if you get the higher trim levels those lights go from yellow to white and that looks a ton better.

@anonymous , the Palisade still tops the X5 in so many ways. Just because you pay more doesn't mean that it's automatically better. The fit and finish on the Palisade is way above its class and exceeds many that cost twice as much. Reliability wise the Palisade stomps BMW and that's no secret.

​@@alohaduck3530 I agree on the reliability side. We had an Audi for A6 3.0T, bought it at 30,000 miles and drove for an additional 68,000 miles, over 4 years. Our annual maintenance/repair expenditure (not including monthly payments for financing or gas) were averaging $2000-$3000. In 4 years time we spend around $9,000-$12,000 for maintenance, repairs, tires, rotors, brakes etc. Something always needed to be fixed, replaced, maintained. We have owned a Mazda 6 2014 GT for 7 years during the same time and my total expense over the 7 year lifetime of that car was $3000. Mainly because I blew one subwoofer. broke the under shield of the car, all new tires, popped a tire and then regular maintenance. Japanese and Korean cars are just more economical. And now Hyundai has stepped up their game in a BIG BIG way. They're not gunning for Toyota and Honda, which are boring in comparison, but they're going straight for the Germans. Better warranty, all the tech, beautiful designs. It's a matter of time when the engines and the drive catches up. The Audi was definitely a luxurious drive, peppy and fun compared to anything Honda, Toyota or NIssan makes. But there is a price to it and we got tired of forking over so much money to keep it. I saw the Hyundai sales report for 2019 vs 2020 YTD. Last year 2019 Jan through September Hyundai sold 13,457 Palisades, this year for same time period Jan-Sept 2020, they sold 60,583, a 4x increase AND in the middle of a Pandemic. This is from Hyundai's own monthly sales document.

@@cyberathlete Hyundai also now offers complementary maintenance for the first 3 years, so you could have zero extra cost besides fuel in the first 3 years...

@@RaitisRides Hi Joe. I had a question. Each and every Mercedes Benz cars have an AMG variant which are usually the very top variant. But, some models like the E class and C class have an 'AMG plus' variant as well, which is even more expensive that the normal AMG variant. So what exactly is the difference between the two? I know you are very busy, but it would make my day if you could answer my question. Love and respect from India.

GM doesn’t care... remember, 50 years ago, GM was the worlds largest company with 50% of the US market... Today... GM is the 4th largest car manufacturer with roughly 17% of the US market. Quiz... name the top 3 auto manufacturers by worldwide sales volume... Hint, GM is t one of them.

Good point. Those wheels don’t fit the trim. Spoked wheels from last years Limited would be better but other than that this is an amazing car. I drove a 2020 Limited and almost bought it but I am always unsure about the first year of any new model.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think it does have second row ventilated seats as an option. Also, the Escalade Platinum had them as standard equipment clear back in the 2004-2006 model years, but for some reason they took them away after that.

@Hank Hill The new 2021 Escalade only has both heated and ventilated seats for the driver and passenger and only heated for the mid row. My 2017 Escalade is also the same. It’s a shame they didn’t add it with the exuberant price. I also wish they had the option for a middle row console and power third row reclining seats. They left out a lot of options that many others have such as the Palisade.

@@DavidJ245 Yeah I wasn't sure on that but turns out you are right. Like I said, they were an option clear back in 2004-2006 when ventilated seats were mostly unheard of. I have no idea on why they got rid of that option after 2006.
