Love bobby and Coco's videos. Hurt for them. Bobby is the most loving and respectful people on tube. Never says a bad word about anyone. He tells a story of someone who killed his dog and he does not mention their name. And bobby sings, plays, wrights, and tells the greatest stories like no one else. Peace and love

There are rumors that Clapton and Bobby had? A pretty riff between them. Rumor is Clapton bought all the rights from Bobby from the Layla album. I’m pretty sure Clapton had his hand in it in the background. Clapton became a superstar. George already was. Bobby, he is just a musician in there eyes. I’ve watched some of Bobby’s accounts from the Derrick and the Dominoes and all things must pass sessions. In both his KZfaq channel and from previous interviews. The stories are different. So they may have felt Bobby is unreliable. I saw one interview where Bobby states that the group was invited to go see the Almond brothers . After the show Eric asked them to come back and Jam. Bobby states in another interview they were done with recording that day and decided to see the Almond brothers. Then Duane became a hired musician.

Amazing video! The continued mistreatment of Bobby is so disheartening and upsetting. Over the past year, watching his videos has given me so much joy. I agree that they should reprint the sleeve notes and save the reputations. The fans, Bobby Whitlock, let alone music history, deserve the truthful recollection of this amazing music. Love all your videos, keep them coming.

Yes, Olivia and Dhani should step up - if they can. Remember some years back, George was criticized (as were Olivia and Dhani) for not helping George's sister, Louise, when she was in financial straits? In reality, George DID help Louise, but tax laws in the U.S. set a limit on the amount a person can give to a family member (than a spouse or children), before it's considered a gift and subject to taxation. Giving a larger amount of money to Louise would have resulted in a tax on her, which George wouldn't be allowed to pay on her behalf.

I listened to All Things Must Pass on Spotify and a small blue tooth speaker and it sounded fine . But I haven’t heard it through a good stereo system on cd or vinyl and apparently that is where the problem lies. It seems from what I’m hearing the remastering of the album wasn’t very well done. The way Phil Spector recorded the album with all that heavy reverb I wouldn’t think it would be possible to totally strip away Spector’s production without stripping away some of the instrumentation. I would like to hear the vinyl version to compare it to the original version but I don’t think I want to spend the big bucks. I don’t appreciate the way Bobby Whitlock is being treated , by pulling down his videos describing the way the album developed , who played on different songs and his opinion of it fans are losing a piece of rock history. It’s really a shame .

Its a travesty that Bobby wasn't included on the ground floor of this ATMP re-issue and now the thing already has a tarnish on it in my view. I think you've nailed it with your rationale for why Bobby's videos have been taken down. In my opinion, they should delay the issue of this anniversary set long enough to get the facts right, rather than knowingly issue something they know isn't right.

So many great contributors to the arts have been misrepresented or ignored for many many years. Much of this is due to contracts hastily signed and artists being "owned" by competing labels. It didn't stop them from working or performing together but it did make it difficult to put it in print, especially on an album cover! Thus, many credits were never acknowledged. But, many of these artists and performers were aware of this at the time and it didn't stop them from their art. Behold the "lowly" session musicians who gave the "hits" so many famous licks and lines. Talking about the likes of Carol Kay, Bruce Langhorne, Leland Sklar...my word, I could go on forever here.

Thanks for putting this information about the 'cover-up'' out there. Bobby Whitlock is just giving his knowledge of his experience during these sessions which contradicts the George Harrison's estates view. I too will not be interested in these new mixes unless they give Bobby his due.

50 years on yet certain egos still get in the way..... Bobby said & done absolutely nothing wrong here but do you know what i believe the guy probably wishes he did now!!! Disgraceful behaviour from the Harrison estate which makes the £850 price-tag for the special box set plus the lesser releases still badly overpriced grate even more now!!!

If not for Bobby Whitlock's YT channel, I'd have known nothing of his contributions to D&B, D&D, & ATMP. His obscurity to this 55 yr old is more a sad statement on record labels fame than on my own ignorance. I am now a HUGE Whitlock fan!

Thanks for posting this. You are quite right, and yes, shame on Olivia and Dhani. Clearly they're all about the $ and cashing in, as well as not even understanding the contributions of all the talent that made that music a success.

Thanks, John, for this. Well stated. We are all mystified by the handling of some of this. I was willing to pay 150.00, but now I'm not so sure. I read a lot of these comments and they are all so good. Hope this oversight about Bobby Whitlock, and probably others, is rectified. Otherwise, I won't be spending this kind of money.

As someone who loves the memories and stories that Bobby shares ,not only on George Harrison but also Eric Clapton,I wonder,because he also was not interviewed in the Martin Scorsese documentary "Living In The Material World",maybe it's the accent?,not refined enough for them perhaps?,it's a shame because he was there for HISTORY, and he adds so much with his recollections.

It's all about LIABILITY! Bobby Whitlock is in a similar situation as say Mick Taylor & the STONES. Whitlock & Taylor are obvious heavy contributors to some obviously great works that are now "property" of "Rock n' Roll Corporations. They both were compensated very little for their work. Any actions of these Corps giving these workhorses any creedence of importance or authority would activate the power of so many LAWYERS adept at this sort of "lawsuit thing". A sad & familiar consequence and fallout of a meteoric era in the art of R n' Roll!

There's a rather strange distrustful stance that seems to come out of the Harrison Estate. They seem to have this attitude that people are out to exploit them at every turn. This doesn't seem to exist with Paul's camp which only accentuates the Harrison's stance. You only have to listen to Mark Lewisohn's interviews to gain a sense of that. It's all rather weird. Bobby whitlock has nothing but admiration and enthusiasm for George and you get a a sense that it has hurt/disappointed him at being shut out.
@tomdumenjich70213 жыл бұрын
That attitude has been around since Revolver was recorded. "There's people standing 'round who'll screw you in the ground, they'll fill you in with all their sins. You'll see."

@@fshoaps I don't know the specific ones but I have heard them. Took me a while to find. George accused him of being a bootlegger during the anthology but with zero proof. He wanted him off the series as he was a researcher. Paul convinced george to keep him on. Paul didn't believe it and worked with Mark after the series so that tells me something. Like someone said in another comment, once you were in the Harrison's black book you were out. Completely out. Don't think it took much.
@tomdumenjich70213 жыл бұрын
@@michaelmccormick6401 I'm of the opinion that George did the Anthology grudgingly. He needed the $ after Denis O'Brien ripped him off. While I loved the series and the book and the three albums, I still wonder why Paul and Ringo and Yoko (not to mention Clapton, Dylan, Petty, and Jeff Lynne) simply didn't give him what he needed to keep living at Friar Park. Not even as a loan...just as a gift to a friend.

@@michaelmccormick6401 @Finn Shoaps Here are the details regarding the falling out between Lewisohn and Harrison. Mark Lewisohn as most Beatles fans are aware of gained access to the EMI tape library for his book "The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions" in 1988. Several years later there was an author by the name of Mark Hertsgaard who was mates with Lewisohn and asked his friend for assistance in accessing the EMI tape library for a book he was writing on The Beatles entitled "A Day In The Life". Lewisohn agreed to do this and believed he had gone through all of the proper channels in helping his friend gain access to the tape library and it was through this access that Hertsgaard was able to write his fantastic book which was published in 1995. However somewhere along the line, misinformation was relayed back to respective camps of George Harrison and Yoko Ono who were informed that Lewisohn was granting unauthorized access unilaterally to The Beatles' tape archive. Upon learning this both Harrison and Ono were very angry and it resulted in some unfortunate repercussions for Lewisohn. To begin with Lewisohn was originally slated to be the curator of the "Lennon: Anthology" project and had already devised a track listing for it. Ono immediately replaced him with Rob Stevens who went on to work with Ono on that project. Harrison also had Lewisohn's role reduced in terms of The Beatles Anthology and while McCartney prevented Lewisohn from being fired, his involvement in the project was significantly reduced. Remember all of this happened in spite of the fact that Lewisohn had gone through the proper channels and obtained permission from EMI to grant his mate access to their tape library.
