As others have said, liked the review style nd the laidback Jezza esk approach :-), these were /are the farmers friend for many years, Mitsubishi made a big impact on the agricultural scene, starting with the Shogun all those years ago and they have cornered the market, for good reason.

The 4D56 in the k74 and k91 L200 is the 8 valve variant meaning the highest out put it would have is 117hp. The 16v variants in later l200s had 140hp and more with the VGT turbos and as well they had common rail direct injection signified by the DI-D badge on them. The 8 valve still has a mechanical Zexel rotary injection pump that is electronicly controlled depending on what year they were.

Wow that’s really interesting that Australia is having the same boom as well! I think they’re very cool vehicles and I’d imagine they’re even cooler in Australia. Enjoy yours!

@@CarCultureClub haha. They are pretty cool. We own an MK Triton ourselves a bit like yours and they are going berserk. We bought our one in 2016 for $6000 and on Carsales we would easily be able to get $10,000 out of it. Ours has the 3.0 V6 petrol instead of the Diesel which uses a lot of oil but has plenty of power.

Thank you for watching! That sounds very good, yes this one does get quite a bit of condensation in the back but unfortunately we can’t do what you did as there’s also lots of stuff in the back. Enjoy yours!

Another reason for the boom is the benefit in kind charge, by having a load area folks save on company car tax rules hence you see a lot of lifestyle pick ups with loads of creature comforts that only go off road when they bump up on the pavement outside of the school

I wish it was like this in Sweden, a old beaten one goes for still around €7000. 08- and newer are way above €15000 in decent condition. Might end up importig one :(

Big engines but the power is terrible on these in comparison to all the other pickups, it’s be had 2 of these and I liked them but they were a big let down on power, since then I’ve had a Navara Aventura (video on my page of it having a diesel run away 😂) a 2008 L200 Warrior and now have a Hilux 3.0. The Navara is by far the best truck to be sat in, all the best gadgets and doesn’t feel agricultural are all but performance wise it’s the Hilux, will pull anything effortlessly and can carry nearly half a tonne more than the Navara can in the pick up. All solid trucks but the Hilux is just a different machine.

I've got a 2006 L200 Trojan (hate, hate, hate the name) with 56,000 miles on it. I've owned it for 8 years and it is so enjoyable to drive - as long as you don't want car-like comfort. It's a pick-up truck - get over it! Around B roads and farm tracks I can't fault it, and the visibility you get from the high seat is brilliant. The turning circle isn't as bad as you made it out to be: it's comparable to most pick-ups, and when you have the wheel hard over there is an extra couple of degrees turn available to those with stronger arm/shoulder muscles. The worst thing about it - apart from the cost of parts - is the fuel economy. I tried to work it out when I first bought it but it was so bad that I decided that ignorance might just be bliss. It's probably around 25-30mpg for general use. Drive it at motorway speeds most of the time and you'll be wishing it had a 6 speed gearbox - the noise alone will have you looking for something more genteel. As a practical working vehicle the biggest (or not) issue for me is that you cannot fit a standard 8x4 sheet of plywood/plasterboard/MDF flat on the back: the wheel arches make it too narrow. Length is a different matter and as mine is the twin cab version (like yours) you're limited to about 4x4. Oh, and if you ever break the glass on the cab door, be prepared for a shock! Quoted as £300 from manufacturer or if you're lucky just the excess on your insurance - if they cover it. A new canopy will set you back £1,000, a used one will be nearer £400, or you might find one off a scrapped car (but good luck finding one with intact glass) might be had for as little as £100. That's great if you live near enough to a population centre, but if you live in the countryside then transporting it is going to be more challenging. I've never had a problem with condensation like you did. I put on the aircon and up the blower speed. Did you find any issues with the sun visor and screen height? I'm 5' 10" and I can't drive with the visor down. The roof / frame dips down a bit so I struggle if I sit too upright, but the headroom is great. Size? I manage to fit in a standard supermarket parking space. You have to pull in a bit more than you might in a car, but it fits with no more than inches sticking out: I’m forever seeing worse parking from regular cars. Thanks for the video - I had no idea they had gone up in value so much, but I guess lots of people with money are flocking away from the city these days.
