Why is the price of silver going up?

Silver investors and traders have been buying the white metal with a frenzy, with price growth outpacing that of gold, and the gold-silver ratio narrowing as a result.
A large driving force behind recent momentum is the resurgence of generalist investor interest in the sector, said Gary Wagner, editor of TheGoldForecast.com.
“The reason I believe that might have happened is one, there’s talk of scarcity, but two, the millennials, people that have put money into the U.S. equity markets that are in their thirties and forties, realize they need a safe haven asset in case there is a bubble,” Wagner said.

50 dollars for silver will be a joke after this depression gets under full steam,you'll see metals double and triple in a matter of weeks when people see they are working for nothing,absolutely nothing,they are printing currency while you sleep,you can't ever catch up to the fall of the dollar,and it will happen while you sleep,just buy the metals and sleep

Right. The $49 silver high in 1980, corrected for inflation, is now $153, and $55 corrected for the 2011 high of $48.

Silver is needed for 5G and other Electric cars and trucks require silver. This category includes electric vehicles (EVs), battery electric vehicles, (BEV), and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). These vehicles use more silver than the internal combustion engine (ICE). The electric engine, battery pack, and battery management system all require silver and Silver is a core element for the manufacture of solar panels, as it has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals. As such it is heavily used in solar panels, with around 20g per panel which equates to around 6.1% of the total cost of the price of building each unit. and the current ratio is 84 if it sell anytime above 80.44 esp when it reaches 100

This has been a long time coming. Silver has been going down for 5 years. HOWEVER, we are now entering a new bull market. I think the next 1-2 years is going to be explosive for Silver. I hope people watching here have some in their portfolio. 🙂

Plus companies like hardware, solar, ect . They need to hedge their long term overhead and will buy tons . Just so they can keep manufacturing for 10 years at today's cost

In 1963 it took about $2.50 or 2.5 oz in silver to buy 10 gallons of gas. At the current silver price, 1 oz will buy 10 gallons of gas. It holds its value and in this case has more than doubled its value.

If you know Elliott Wave analysis, then you know that a 90% retrace is much likely to be the beggining of a second leg down of a correction. It means we finished waves A and B on the S&P500, and we're beggining right about this month a new downward trend. That's one of the reasons why investors are piling gold and silver.

Chart does not mean anything when it is manipulated. No free market for pricing which is a actual demand supply and scarcity factor and not even using PM to back fiat currencies. The price will be astronomical once the financial reset kicks in which is inevitable.

If mining is only pulling out of the ground 8 to 10 ounces of silver for every 1 ounce of gold, how can anyone justify an 80:1 silver to gold ratio? In addition, silver is being consumed by industry with very little of it being retrievable. Many people do not value silver. Until it gets scarce, then watch out. The common person won't be able to get a hold of any physical silver. Paper contracts, sure. They will hand those out like trading cards. But physical silver will become very rare.

Points from Fund Managers -- free printed money is well stuffed in equity markets already. Bitcoin can't be touched at institutional level. Real estate is too slow (and dangerous given unpredictability of pandemic status). Unlimited QE insinuates that US is not intent on repaying its debt to the FED (nor should it). Talk of "digital dollar" is rampant in many circles. All in all, gold/silver is a safe bet.

Silver certainly might retrace but the interviewer comes across as if he has no idea about what is happening in the widen economy. Yes industrial demand would be expected to fall in a depression but as the guest points out, this is very early days in a massive and growing financial crisis in fiat
