I tried tinder for a week. Got zero matches, then with no explanation my account got deleted. Maybe it's against their terms of service to be ugly.

1. Install tinder with a fake profile with a some pictures of an attractive model. 2. Get as many matches as you can but don't message. 3. Log out and leave tinder alone for a few weeks. 4. Log in and change your profile pics to you. 5. Start messaging and nobody will remember when you matched. Profit!

I’ve noticed something with technology... the algorithms are so advanced that they actually warp the reality of the situation and are more damaging than not. Why does it have to be so mathematical? Why are we trying to quantify something that isn’t quantifiable? Restrictions are created by way of these algorithms that should not exist. It’s like they also try to force or predetermine outcomes. Let reality play out. The reality is lost in the numbers and programming. Maybe software developers are over-complicating their apps/products? Just keep it simple... I understand there’s certain intent and probably a positive intent behind some of these things, but they obviously haven’t considered the full ramifications...

No, the reason guys loved Tinder when it first came out was because of Botinder: a bot that would allow your computer to automatically "swipe right" on every female profile that it encountered while you went off and did something else (like sleep), and within a system that didn't filter which profiles were actually shown and didn't limit "right swipes". You could straight up max out your search radius and click one button on your computer before you went to bed and in the morning you're guaranteed ~1k - 5k swipes, and thus 10-12 guaranteed matches. Then the process of sifting through those 10-12 profiles you KNOW will respond to you winds up taking 5 minutes, and real-life interactions could actually happen for average guys on a daily basis. This is why Tinder "exploded onto the scene". Nothing else.

I tried it over the course of the weekend and must have looked at almost 200-300 profiles. I got 1 match with a woman that was hopelessly out of my league. I composed a decent message to her even though her profile was devoid of information and promptly got unmatched! Your matching limitation would work really well. Being selective then makes matching actually worthwhile.

Went on one of my best dates from Tinder recently, first date where I felt I was pulling at my level in terms of appearance, career, and ability to engage in conversation. Then she told me she had 99 matches. Tinder is less of a fun, sexy ride and more analogous to sending job applications out via a job board all weekend and getting nothing back.

the problem with girls ( Average age: 27 to 40. ) is they lie on the pics .... if you give them a 7, its a 5. if you give them a 5, its a 3. In Spain, the problem is that of 10 dates, only 2 will look the same or better than in the photos. The rest is usually more overweight. I've read several profiles that have said something to the effect of, "I'm new to Savannah" when I live well over 100 miles from any town/city named Savannah. If you keep having something to swipe, you'll keep coming back.

The age field in these apps doesn't fit real life where the hottest women seek the men of high highest status and the best dressed and with confident dominating personalities. Instead, you have to say you're 20 on these apps even if you're 40, to get the same consideration you'd get in real life.

Women are desensitized by photographs. Women judge men NOT by his looks or his flash or his pedigree, they judge on his picture quality. Its pretty bizarre. A guy needs essentially professionally done photos by a high quality lens and then the pic needs some type of air brushing effect to give it a loik of prestige. Men need to be extra picky.

I would argue it is the men who feel far more disposable and dehumanized since bottom 90% doesn't even get shown to women. Women on the other hand get an massive ego boost coz only need to be a 4/10 to get lots of matches and messages. Ultimately Tinder is great for 1-6/10 women who can't do well in the real dating world coz Tinder is forcing men to punch below their weight while 6-10/10 women would certainly prefer real world dating coz they're expecting a 8.5+/10 guy who doesn't think they're disposable like on Tinder.

I’ve had tinder for three years now, on and off, and from my experience I can say that not only is this video accurate, but most of the comments are accurate as well. However I believe there is more to blame here than just algorithms and shitty guys, I believe as a society things have shifted as well. With the new e girls and Instagram model phase we’ve been entering, women have been taking control of the dating scene. Back in the day guys were in charge, hence why we have to make the first move or message first, and women and men dated on a fairly equal level based on attractiveness successfulness and overall personality, but with this recent paradigm shift, women now are in charge, this means what some might consider a 5 on the woman hotness scale are now dating or getting attention from guys closer to the top end of the guy hotness scale simply because girls on the top end of the hotness scale have reached a mythical level where they expect males to be rich or famous, extremely successful, intelligent, very attractive, and perfect boyfriends. Girls have found a new value and power in the male urge to go out and pursue women, and it has completely changed the way dating works now. I’m not saying this is for the better or worse, but it just is what it is, and although I myself have found sever unhappiness because of this realization, the only thing I could and am now doing to up my odds in this world we live in is to better myself and focus on myself. I’m motivating myself to get in the best physical shape of my life, have a successful education at my university and a career. This way I can build confidence and independence and turn the dating game around in favor of me as the male as it once was in the past.

Read the book 'Dataclysm.' They release all the actual statistics behind Tindr, POF, Bumble, etc. It's fascinating. A couple great finds: Only 20% of men are ranked "above average" by all women. Only about 40% of men ever get a right swipe at all. When it comes to age preference, it shows the average ages both men and women are most attracted to from 18 - 50. Women's age preference for men corosponds closely to their own age; a few years above/below. For example; women who are 30, on average, swipe guys who are 33, or if women are 40, they swipe 44, etc. However, when it comes to men, from ages 18 all the way to 50, the number stays stagnant; women between the ages of 20 - 23 are the sexual preference across the entire age spectrum for men. Mind you this info is based, for the most part, solely on looks. Still interesting and useful to know what you're up against using these apps to find someone.

I'm a decent looking guy and have gone on a lot of dates, so it initially was a bit of a blow to my self-esteem using Tinder. Now, I'm really casual about it. You've convinced me that I should just delete it. Okcupid has been actually a godsend for me. Tinder has generally sucked.

Opinion of a women here: when I swipe I look at the photos and what profession/education they have. If a guy is average looking but high edacted I'm more likely to swipe right. And yes I always swipe right to attractive guys, cause why not? In my experience they tend to be friendlier.

What you say with 10 % men being rude to women: it doesnt matter! Why? I had a pretty good profile. Every day i had matches, even with 8s or 9s. I talk to them in a funny, nice way. They react and we have a good talk. And after 2 days the conversation stops. I think this happens because In this 2 days they allready have 20 other matches. I could ask for their telephone number..but it doesnt matter, they are busy and exploring the rest.

You have a great suggestion, but its a shame that tinder will never do it cause of money. Although I wish you would also mention about girls who are just timewasters (loves to have conversation but always have excuses to meet up). I've thought about this a lot and I want to come back to you(and hopefully get a response). One of the suggestion I have for tinder is showing how many people have actually seen my profile. Lots of men feeling ugly just because they dont have any matches, but little did they know they might not having any matches cause no womens have actually seen their profile. Even when I use boost on Tinder, I don't know how many women's have actually seen me. This could be useful as well to decide whether we should update our profile. Like whats the point of having a very hot professional model photo but no one actually seen it.

Man im a decent looking guy and not an idiot i have unique interests i take care of my body i don't do drugs or have a bad habbit and the way i dress is always stylish, presentable and tinder still sucks and i get tons of matches!!! 2% respond i have met nice girls and gone on dates and slept with people and even had a realtionship but the amount ive swiped and messaged to get that is beyond retarded it should not be that hard to get a date especially for a nice guy with pure intentions and wont treat his lady like shit.

I like Bumble's strategy, with having a limited time to message matches with a limited time for them to respond, except I feel like this strategy should be used for guys making the first move instead of girls.

Just saw this video today and yeah... parallel thinking on the match cap solution that removes you from the deck and doesn't let you keep swiping until you have less than 3 matches (i.e. you deliberately have to unmatch if you want to swipe for someone else). Even though they won't bother implementing it, I think there are other ways they could push ads and still make money if they did. I've only been on the apps for about 2 months and came to that conclusion very quickly after reading/hearing and observing many perspectives of the online dating experience from both men and women. People aren't slowing down and limiting themselves to create this type of solution, so it would have to be hard coded in. This would encourage more conversations actually happening, more people taking it seriously in trying to make dates happen and hopefully less people being fatigued from the problems that are currently going on with these apps.

Tinder is weird. I used to get so many matches when I joined earlier this year. I used to average about 4 matches every week. I used to get fast enough responses and I got quite a few numbers. What I have found is that many women on there are seeking attention and even the few dates I went on did not really go anywhere although I met a couple really cool chicks. After getting so many matches when I now joined, nowadays I hardly get any matches and I wonder what the hell is going on.
