LOL those creator spotlights pretty much sums up AGS management of New World. They spotlight the biggest content creator they have and then 2 people that don’t even play the game 😂 they’re so clueless, always have been.

I will always appreciate these videos documenting the little bits of insight into New World's behind-the-scenes news. As far as "content creator" stuff during Max's tenure, there were also those tweets that tried to promote Expedition speedruns as a community event ("Rune Forge Runners"), but without any rules for the speedrun and with a seemingly random selection of Twitch streamers participating. Was the Discord server you were describing the same 1 that AGS was supposed to use for consulting its "Group of Experts" they have always claimed to communicate with? I can't imagine what the New World team actually looks like, or how it functions, at this point. It must some kind of extreme: either no accountability/oversight for any tasks, *or* micro-management/mis-prioritization that prevents employees from actually doing their jobs properly. Personally, I suspect that the "content-creator manager" position no longer exists within AGS, as part of the plan to no longer support New World as a live-service game after "NW: A" is released.

The game is practically dead. Is hard to believe that such a beautiful game with wonderful graphics and the best combat failed. I just hope that a miracle happens in October. I'm a big fan of pvp and I stopped playing NW because the pvp is terrible. It makes me sad.

AGS hoped those creators that didn't or barely touched NW, would bring their viewers which were non-NW players. So once against, ignore current playerbase and go for new game purchases. I guess this is how buy to play makes developer to behave.

Max was also the one along with SchmeckNw who got the winter rune forge speed run event going. It was fun being invited in and to be apart of it. Max is a nice guy who really cares about making the game better. He will be missed and best of luck at your new employment.

I respect the fuck out of dukesloth, your consistency and dedication doesn't go unnoticed. I played new world since launch and quit about 4 months ago. Been a hopium legend for too long. I'm rooting for newworld and hope they can finally give some content after the release of console to keep players around

The problem with paid ope are that studio needs to reach public that DO NOT play New World in the first place. No need to ad the game to people already playing and AGS must not have the money to pay people already playing the game. But it's also kind of a fail because they kind of never reach people who could really go push the game later on. IE at New World start, they paid some streamers 1000$ even with like 5 ccv and did not reach all creators who pushed the beta and made ad for the game for free, what a pity. I hope they'll get someone this time, but i really think in those kind of position it SHOULD NOT be an US citizen but someone else, just to try a different way of thinking, who could really go in the way MMORPG needs to go with CC.

Did you ever get a chance to check out Pax Dei? I know there has been a lot of bad press about it with some justification but I am enjoying it and willing to see what happens for a few months. The SEA server is pretty decent - not overcrowded but not empty either.

I don’t know the whole list of people in that discord, but from what I do now, the people there definitely did play the game when Max started in the role a few months ago. There was some weirdness that I had heard about but I’m pretty sure most of the creators were from twitch rather than KZfaq. Which might explain why you never found yourself there. I wouldn’t blame Max for this though. I think AGS practically set him up for failure

i am watching all your videos and cant wait for next ones but on this one you were way off your usual track. you went a dark path that i didn't enjoy. Also on the NDA part be careful cause you acknowledge it publicly and you might have legal actions against you. "Indirect Liability: Even if you did not directly disclose the information, if it can be proven that you facilitated or encouraged the third party to breach the NDA, you could still be held liable for the breach."

None of the games are hugely sucessful and anyone who is trying to build a portfolio of successful projects are not going to be doing it at AGS. So yeah I get people leaving and they'll sucker someone else into the job.

I’m not going to address this video in detail, but I can tell you it had nothing to do with the reasons you mentioned here. There is so much more going on behind the scenes that creators have no visibility into. Take off the tinfoil hats :)

Hope new games come out so you can get back to making real content. Appreciate the updates on the dumpsterfire that is New World but that game is C O O K E D.

It's not the easiest job to work with diva content creators (bald man, etc.), but it is an important thing to build hype and increase sales. The game wouldn't be in as bad of a state right now if more streamers were playing the game consistently. But then again those streamers need content and good reasons to play, doing OPR over and over again on the same map can't last forever for most of them. Thumbs up for great videos.

as someone with 5000 hours of new wrold, i think we all need to come together and leave new world untill they give us content.

Also it sounds like you a little bit of salty they didnt pick you. And i think the simple thing is those other have Agents that got them the gig... very simple.. No game company cares about people like you who make content with critisim .. specaily AGS... you are a problem for them. So the rather take someone where they can check some bonus points that a guy who plays/played the game.
