Chicago is SOOO underrated

Such a truthful video. People just don’t know about Chicago and what it has to offer. It’s not on the coast and we don’t really have an “industry” like NYC for finance/ broadway and LA for movies/TV/tech. Not sure what our “big thing” would be but if a large industry came here it would certainly help our case and expose the city.

I binged watched your videos before I moved to Chicago and it's one of the best things I did! Coming from someone who lived 30 minutes out of NYC, I thought Chicago wasn't going to be anything to write home about since id grown up by the best city in the nation, but you definitely proved me wrong. By watching your vids , I've seen how much there is to explore around Chicago and just how far it spans. Thank you so much for the content and ill continue to support you guys, much love.

Luis is right. when the sky is grey the buildings are grey and the sidewalk is grey it becomes very hard to scream, " YOU need to come here!" ...without a saturation filter on your camera.

Very good points about this. As a native Chicagoan who moved to NYC, then moved back to Chicago a few years ago and is now thinking about moving back to NYC.... I see Chicago is still trying to shake it's stereotype (somewhat) as a gritty and corrupt working class city it gained from Carl Sandburg's 1916 poem "The City of Big Shoulder's", the stockyards and even Al Capone and the mafia of the 1930's (When I was traveling in Spain in 2019 and told a guy I was from Chicago he said: "Oh, Al Capone! Bang! Bang!) WTTW's Geoffrey Baer is the OG Chicago content creator but he's not a KZfaqr. New York and LA attract the KZfaqr's and creatives. BTW, 0:58 made me laugh out loud since you sound exactly like Joey's World Tour.

Luis, suggestion, partner with some of the event planner companies for city events (5k runs, festivals, etc) and try contacting the cubs stadium media teams also. That could be a great start to get 'in' and network with the media teams to make partner content! Good luck

I need to tell you, all the places I visited because of your recommendation, nobody had a clue who you are, when I told them about you. But often other guests looked up when they heard me and said they where also here because of you. So I can confirm that nobody could say you where bought by the owners to promote their business

My wife and I just moved to the city about a month ago and definitely used your content to help us search out a great place to live before we moved (we’re in Andersonville/Edgewater area now!). I do sound design and she’s a graphic designer, but we love exploring every day. I’ve had thoughts of trying to maybe get some more localized content out there on the internet. As a Chicagoan, I've really been trying to figure out if I want to do a Chicago KZfaq channel or not. It's been this struggle of trying to figure out if it is a lot of labor without the love.

Luis it's like you were born and raised here because I agree with everything you said here. We have so many world class amenities. With our history, the city of big shoulders it's always been a wonder to me why there are not as many you tubers as for LA or NYC this the 3rd biggest city in the USA and imo the only other true world metropolis in this country.

You not lying it’s to cold to be recording in Chicago but when I was there it was not too many KZfaqrs or places people haven’t mentioned now it’s so many new places

I think it's also coastal bias that plays a part when it comes to the media, tv and film. It's the classic case, really. Not even great Southern cities like Austin, Atlanta, NOLA and Miami can pull in people who want to make YT a livelihood - and each said city has arguably better weather than Chicago. People in the comment section said that NYC has the finance sector pull, but that's only true IF you want to do finance. NYC, and its region, has been glorified very carefully by the media be it in tv/film, news networks and journalism. KZfaq people don't go to NYC for the finance; finance helped make NYC gather the rich to make places like Manhattan a play ground for the upper middle class. Last time I heard people outside the upper middle class were moving to Queens or The Bronx like they are/were with eastern neighborhoods of Brooklyn to Manhattan. So If anything, it's the media that has greatly helped cities like LA and NYC be the draw that they are. And if anyone is being honest, the media doesn't really care about middle America and the South unless it's to demean the regions.

I think a really cool video idea for you guys to do is to ask us chicagoians on your Instagram story for some hidden/local/underground things or places that aren't mainstream that they recommend and you visit them✨️✨️
