@@DADRB0B55 Mentioning DC is a what aboutism. We are talking about Jones. If this video was about another athlete we would talk about them. I'm not some DC or GSP fanboy either so I ain't triggered from anything you just said. All I'll say is the testing system is an absolute joke. Under the new rules he was only clean when he had low amounts. Howeverany experts in the testing field have said this is BS because metabolites can reach them low levels when leaving the system. So they gonna say oh sure it's leaving your system it doesn't matter that you juiced through an 8-14 week training camp as long as it's only trace amounts leaving your system you're good. This in my opinion is just not god enough from the supposed greatest of all time. I personally feel no one has done it better than Jones in the octagon. However that dark cloud will always make me say he has fallen just short of GOAT status because of his blatant cheating. Don't worry about what other people are doing and whoever else is cheating that's ok the organisation. You are responsible for you and your body. Lance Armstrong cheated but in a way I feel for that guy because he had the choice of be natural and get nowhere cause literally everyone else is cheating or else cheat and have a more fair shot. I believe all the other cheaters should be erased from them leaderboards but they only chopped his name off. I don't want bad for Jones or for him to be erased I just want accountability and the organisation to stop having double standards when it comes to big money fighters. The sport is just as filthy as boxing was/is. Something Dana said would never be the case but hey where there is money there 100% gonna be gangsters.

Jones is charismatic and because he didn't inject the substances into his body (he took them via mouth) he can always argue he didn't take them intentionally which is a weak excuse but its still a grey area that his obnoxious fans can still hang their hat on. Combined with more grey areas regarding USADA talking nonsense about pulsing picograms (Turinabol doesn't pulse) and changing the rules on testing levels (which is BS but as long as something is official you'll always have some arguing in favor), his fans have more ammunition to defend him whereas anyone who's a TJ fan does not.

Another thing to consider is that the light-heavy division is not known to be nearly as competitive as lightweight or welterweight. In boxing it's "cruiserweight," and there's little action there, historically. Most fighters (boxing or MMA) who are in the range of 220lbs would rather bulk up and go to heavyweight (as Tyson did), where the belt is more coveted. The UFC often struggled to find Jones opponents at light-heavy, and had to offer him guys that are middleweights to create fights: Rashad Evans, Machida, Chael, Vitor - all middleweights. Even DC had the frame of a middleweight, and gave up a massive height/reach advantage... Jones was so dominant in that division because that division is sparse with contenders; And he was either beating up a man considerably smaller than him, or eye poking guys that are his size, to gain a dirty advantage in the fight. How can a guy like Demetrious Johnson go a lifetime of dominance in MMA without eye pokes, and Jones can hardly get through a fight without doing it at least once? Either it's deliberate, or he's retarded when it comes to control over his own hands. I've seen footage of him playing basketball, and it is possible that he has retarded hand dexterity. Then add to that his lifestyle... If he's the GOAT, then the UFC is no more prestigious than "StreetBeefs" or a local Toughman competition.

Fedor had an undefeated streak longer than Jones, but how did his career end? Matt Hughes was beating everyone at WW for years, but how did his career end..? Even Rickson, who was undefeated by beating up bums in Vale Tudo Japan, ended up with a fucked up back and crippling arthritis all through his body from doing Jiu Jitsu for over half a century. A lot of them are built very much like him like Jiri and Reyes, being taller and longer, something which gave him a huge advantage. I wonder if LWH is just a division which is meant to be dominated by such fighters, which there were not many of when JJ was dominant. Hell even Gustaffson, the first person to give him a challenge and have an even fight with him, was of this build. Only thing this new rule change does is it sets fire to what little credibility USADA had left. between conors "testing exemption" as he starts very obviously saucing to the gills, hardly testing known steroid cheats like Jones and dilashaw, not increasing testing on fighters who show up with obvious signs of steroids like a brand new b00b, theyre a joke.
@madgavin7568
@madgavin7568 Жыл бұрын
An unintended consequence of that rule change is that drug cheats now have leeway when it comes to cycling a steroid out of their system. Granted its only a small window (picograms and all), but its one nonetheless where for as long as they have a PED in their system and the amount is below USADA's new threshold level they can continue to getaway with it and USADA would be none the wiser. The result? Cheats can now plan their steroid cycles (or potentially additional cycles) to continue to get around USADA testing due to the rule change.

Tbol has a very short half-life and mostly used for acute performance increases e.g. pre-fight/ Pre-lift. Test was failed 28th July, fight was 30th = no increase in performance for the fight Also there are a plethora of ways to get around USADA testing perimeters, especially 'frankenstein compounds' (compounds with discontinued testing in the 1900s due to inefficacy in clinical settings) as they go undetected due to no usage. HGH is borderline impossible to detect unless using mass spectrometry which is too expensive to test for with the amount of fighters in the roster and it wouldn't give them the ability to random test. I.E. anyone can dope and get away with it, just depends on who you hire and their knowledge.

Worst part is, having seen all of his early fights, it was pretty evident he didn't even NEED steroids! He had natural ability and solid fight IQ from the start, so the PED's were to ease the inadequacy that only exists in his own mind. I still have GSP, Silva, and Mighty Mouse as my top 3 GOAT's, but Bones' behavior outside of the cage makes it hard for me to root for him. I have never, and will never, disparage his abilities, but I don't see him as the GOAT for many reasons, and I can't really call myself a fan of his (not that he'd care). With all of that said, I hope he works on himself and becomes a better person outside the Octagon, because he seems like he's mentally and emotionally tortured by his own demons, and I think he would be a better overall human being if he got control over his issues.

If you take PED's, you're automatically out of the discussion for greatest of all time. Plus your greatness doesn't just end at the cage, it extends outside of the cage as well. Beating up your wife, doing drugs, crashing into pregnant women and fleeing the scene, etc. I can't look at that person and confidently say, "yea, this is my guy, I pick him as the GOAT." GSP, Khabib, Demetrius Johnson, Henry Cejudo, Daniel Cormier, Jose Aldo, and Israel Adesanya are the only people that come to mind when having a discussion about being the GOAT/ a GOAT.

If PED's, fighting dirty as fuck, almost never fighting someone who wasn't a head shorter and a >6" reach disadvantage, and being gifted 3 decisions didn't disqualify him to you in this subjective and ultimately pointless but still fun discussion, they won't matter to you now and he's been the GOAT by a wide margin for a long time. If they do, well those asterisks are still there. For me it's gotta be Khabib or Mighty Mouse. Fewest asterisks in their cases. Maybe Silva if you believe him that he only used PED's after his injury and don't really count his fall from his prime or GSP if you don't care too much about finishes. Fedor is also in the conversation but too many freakshow fights and a long painful decline towards the end. Like do you assess the career as a whole or only consider their best years?
