Recently I've thought about this recently too and here's a good theory. The original symbolism of dreadlocks in a lot of cultures was to symbolize the mane of a lion. On top of this, J.Cole if you're an OG fan would know he used to call himself "Young Simba." Simba didn't fully grow his mane out until he was fully grown up and about to be king and J.Cole now considers himself as The King of Hip Hop if not one of them. Kind of interesting when you think about it...

His locs are cold AF!!! If I had a coarse texture, mine would've definitely been freeform. Because I have soft hair that wouldn't loc, I get mine interlocked. But I've been locked since 15 yrs now. I love the different variations, whether freeform, interlocked, or palmrolled. I just love when we embrace our natural textures and show our individual personalities through our hair 😍😍

Easy method for wash put a stocking cap on pour your shampoo in top of the stocking cap and let the water in the shower rinse over it this will heit your scalp but also keep your new locs in tac take stocking cap off towel Patt it and then blow dry the rest do this once a month and if you only oil your scalp twice a month lightly only the scalp not the loc oil get on the loc it will hinder your loc from matting

I have freeforms dreads that are similar to JCole...started them over 3 yrs back after years of wearing weaves and wigs, I love them so much but freeform dreads come with a lot of stigma, people think you are either Rastafarian / a revolutionist / a slob . Well at least that has been my experience suddenly you are defined by your hair by strangers from all races.
