My heart really goes out to her, this is a major reason why I’d not be comfortable trying out for the show. You just never know 100% how people will respond to you, and it’s such an unusual and vulnerable position to be in once you’re on the island… cameras, no food, bad sleep all compounding. Hope she’s feeling better today.

Three tribes of six: SUCK! The ideal and proven as excellent format of the show is TWO TRIBES, thematic or not. All the new era constrictive structure is lazy and is killing the show.

Was really worried she would be first boot and the tribal council having an Asian theme. Tribes of 6 still allow for this situation she describes. A bigger tribe would give more options?

Her treatment reminds me of what happens on BB, the house target becomes isolated. In the end I was relieved to see her free of the trauma ❤

i honestly don't understand why the other tribemates didn't like her? Was it the edit? What were we not seeing? From the edit, I loved her. I thought she was smart and super sweet and normal. I didn't get the whole "Jess is so weird and doesn't fit in!!!" narrative we were being force-fed, even by Jess herself. lol

I got the impression they all liked her. I think they just got frustrated with her performance in the challenges

I want to know what made Jess think she should apply for the show and what she thought it would be like. Because there seems to be a huge disconnect between what she expected and what actually it was like out there. What had she imagined the game to be like or her tribe like, or the conditions like?

Australian Survivor right now is 100% better than US Survivor. Just saying...

I agree. Since Aus Brains Vs Brawn & USA Season 41, it’s had the better show IMO. (Only USA season I enjoyed alongside AUS was 45, yeah it’s clearly been the better product the last few years because it sticks to more of old school USA style of show funny enough)

I don't understand what is happening with the casting of newer seasons of Survivor. Is it that people believe a shortened season is easier so they apply to be on it. Too many people now have a romanticized vision of the show. Jess seems like a nice woman but she was never meant to be on this type of show.

The new era sucks in every single aspect: 26 days is pathetic, three tribes of six, defacto 🔥 making at 4, never a new location, etc. Survivor in its 40s has become lazy and self indulgent.

this season just has straight up bullies and bystanders, kenzie, tiff, soda, tevin, Q. and hunter(not much of a bully but picked the bullies as his friend group)

Survivor ended with season 40, I don’t know what they’re playing now, but it’s not the real version of Survivor.

Asian representation seems like an after thought for casting. Black people and the queer community have been thriving but where’s the love for American Asians? & As a black man I can genuinely say I don’t like any of the black players this season.

When you say where’s the love at what are you saying,I think casting does a good job at choosing a relatively diverse cast in the new era i believe every season has had 1-2 asian american players.

@@sousgod5017 they aren’t contenders though or have overtly strong personalities. Maybe it’s an Asian thing or maybe they just aren’t seeing the “fit” in casting but man even Austin last year was a dweeb and brought nothing to the game

@@kayhoover6530 how often do we get players like Erika that are Asian though? And that was a 6 black people to two Asians. Why can’t we get several Asians in a cast? And a couple black people seems like it’s always the opposite

Completely projecting my own thoughts - But I’m guessing she was immediately super out of it due to lack of sleep. And that medical issue basically meant that she couldn’t function properly and connect with the rest of the tribe and actually properly strategize. Sucks because you never know you’re going to actually handle it physically when you get on the island.
