This is why Singapore esport or even regular sport is hard to show result in international scene, in Korea they exempt this kind of athlethe or delayed their enlisment like Faker for example

Yes, but the criteria isn't as easy as it seems. For athletes, you need to win either a medal at the olympic games or win gold medal at the asian games. That is the only way to gain exemption from the military. 2022 Asian games was the first time esports was officially added and hence, why faker and the 5 other players are the only esports players in the whole of korea to actually have exemption from the military. I do guess that being able to delay military service does help. Or they could be like Karon and just go and finish their service early because Karon did it and now he can compete in the pro scene without having to ever worry about it.

@user-cl8cl6qc5t well, skill level or legacy doesn't give you exemption in korea. If esports and league of legends was accepted as an official event at the 2022 asian games, then faker would not be exempt yet alongside zeus, kanavi, chovy, ruler, and keria, who are all also exempt for winning gold at the asian games. Or, had they not won the gold medal, they also would still not have exemption. The only other way would be to have health issues that the country just doesn't wanna deal with like Jinggg's situation.

Alecks did mention on twitter he will keep working with Monyet to improve himself for the time being.

Nah. A friend of mine was exempted in sg military bc he was the breadwinner and has diagnosed condition which made him exempted. They are verry strict and would just not allow someone to dodge it like that.

I actually think not going to national service is going to be the downfall of Jing. im not a PRX hater or a jing hater. All eyes are on him now to perform. Another final is not going to cut it. They need to win something in the next 2 years. I think i can say for alot of male singaporeans while we hated NS. It was our duty as a singaporean to serve our small country. (i dont agree with it because of alot of real questions like how we are ever going to defend ourselves but i get the idealogy of this as someone who has already served.) Alot of character is built during the time that u serve, im just afraid alot of haters will start questioning him and the decision of the goverment if nothing is to show for at the end of it. This might not sit well in the long term and other 'athletes' in singapore and may even cause more rift politically in the future. just a reminder that getting pes F is a serious legal case and it still boggles my mind which criteria he managed to convince the medical officer and department of. i've seen sons of multimillionaires 100M++ networth serving and it really isnt something u can get away lightly in singapore.

I had a friend who had severe eczema and was pes f. Lived in pain every day. He looks normal now only cus he takes an rna injection dunno once a month or how often. but it costs 2k a month. So, mindef would have to either have to force him to take that medication (which has unknown risks) and pay for all the medical fees or give him pes f. They chose the latter. I don't recall any legal case against him
