Yeah she took a lot of flak for that in that era but she's always been a class act. I can kinda see Forsythe's perspective and not wanting to get his age dragged out to be used against him. Better if everyone would stop using it as a club against the women, both then and now. What choice did she have though? She couldn't control others being ageist, only highlight how awful the double standard was with the perfect example of her direct co-worker and Forsythe took the hit. That award story was truly childish on his part, can't defend that at all. I get the sense she is still respectfully framing that story in a more positive light than the truth actually was. That's pure conjecture on my part, but she seemed to choose her words carefully there. Very articulate lady.

As well, she nearly walked away after Series 5, when she demanded more money after putting in 4 years. Whether or not she deserved the hike in pay, the show itself was running on fumes by Series 8 or Series 7.

She`s an absolute bombshell beauty always has been and it`s near impossible to disguise. Her performance is wonderful and its a very touching movie I recommended it. Honestly I seriously want her back on American Horror Story or on Ratched or another Ryan Murphy show (She could headline her own series) Ten years ago we were robbed of a Dynasty Reboot and I won`t watch that dreadful CW remake which looks ham handed. So the press mentions her age and Lynda's age and not Forsythe's age, and she assumed it is HER place to correct that and constantly mention his age. That would have been the appropriate response only if Forsythe himself was constantly babbling on about Collins' age. What she did was drag him into her spat with the press and make him part of the argument even though that was not her right. He was well within his rights to be offended and tell her off.

It's funny that she mentions requesting her stand-in for the strangling scene which was in the season finale of season 6. Because when you watch that episode there's a very short moment, just a second or two, where you actually SEE the stand-in, not Joan Collins. It is however not when Blake is strangling Alexis but a few seconds before he lunges at her and tries to kill her.

Ratings averaged 19 million for season 1 in the US, gaining a further 4.5% viewership for the second season. Not considerable, quite frankly. @@juliajones2318 You want her PR machine to come after me? It is well known how awful she is in the UK's acting circles (the serious ones). And crews are not that fond of her either. Comments here turn her into some feminist icon, when in fact she did not speak up when she witnessed other women in her profession victimised, but she speaks up now that is absolutely safe and many many other women have done the difficult work long before she opened her mouth here. The disgusting film industry culture (as old as the film business itself) revealed in all its misogynistic glory every time an actress celebrated her 30th birthday (less common now, but still); the repellent culture that determined that ageing male stars were potent sex symbols and needed to be paired with women half (or more than half) their age while actresses of a similar to them age were put out to pasture or forced to play their mothers (eg. Cary Grant's 'mother' in North By NorthWest) have more than been exposed, there have been actively opposed following changes in social attitudes long before this interview. Collins did not participate in any of those discussions and struggles, only to spout the obvious now and be hailed as some great feminist icon! Pleeaaase, as the Americans say.

Joan Collins and Jackie Collins look alike.

Linda Evans was only in her 30s? I think she was being kind. Linda looked no younger than Joan when she joined.

They definitely looked on par with one another. Linda (born November 1942) was 38/39 when Joan (age 48) came aboard for season two back in 1981.

I always thought Linda was 45 at least. But certainly not 38. Gosh back in the day everyone looks old. I'm 37 now and I still look like a teenager. Back in the day people looked so sophisticated and their true age or older maybe because they were refined.

Just watched the clip of that award show and John laughed when he said "you said it all." Joan then turned to Linda who also laughed and declined to say anything. Joan's colorful memory is either a little off or she loves to embellish.

The real reason there was friction was because Dynasty was struggling and facing cancellation. Alexis/Joan entered and the ratings rocketed. It was soon the number one show in the USA and everybody was talking about Alexis and not Blake and Crystal. In truth it needed all three, you can’t have a triangle with one person, but without Alexis, Blake and Crystal didn’t work. Joan brought the bitchy one liners, the skullduggery, the camp, the wardrobe, the power shoulders, the class, the style and the swagger and ended up defining the over-consumption of the 1980s.

Joan darling, they were jealous of you and your superb acting. You could have carried the series on your own because you made the show watchable. Otherwise, Dynasty was boring.

Love when stars talk about how their costars ACTUALLY are as people...usually rude and childish

Not that I think she's not telling her truth, but I'd take it with a grain of salt. Collins didn't get along with a lot of people on that set.
