It's crazy how relatively simple Kawhi's game is to others but nobody can actually stop it. He just has solid fundamentals, can go left/right, footwork/coordination, strength, athleticism. He always gets to his spots and it seems nobody can stop it or bump him off. Everything seems so perfectly methodical and technical about his game. It's like he was created out of a lab just seeing how fine-tuned and efficient his game is.

-- he's on my non-MVP GOAT conversations. 2DPOYs, 2FMVPs, efficient, can get any bucket he wants -- outside of injuries, he and TMac are some what-ifs (as in how much greater would they be). Tmac? We never saw him past his prime of age 26. KG, Dirk, and the 2 rings that Kobe won without Shaq were all age 30-plus.

I always tell people the only thing holding him back from real top 10-15 (not saying he can't get there) players ever conversation is his injuries. He's one of those players you're gonna have to have fully watched to understand their greatness.

The people who are saying that kawhi doesnt love basketball and just collecting paychecks dont know how much training it takes to see that level of improvement, just cause he doesnt post his training sessions in social media. The amount of reps required to be that accurate even during hard contest and keep in mind Kawhi is very accurate everywhere on the court. Considering he was a bad shooter entering the NBA. To put it into perspective. Lebron didnt have a decent jumper till year 19. Lebron handles is still shaky, his post moves is basically just a right shoulder fade.

Kawhi has incredible fundamentals and insane physical tools that make him great, but one thing I noticed tho (in the clips you showed), whenever he goes left, he pulls up for a jumper instead of taking it to the rim. I feel as tho as a defender, forcing him left, staying on his hip, and hoping ur strong enough to not get bumped would be the best defense against him. Not saying this would stop him, but forcing him to make tough layups with his left or to become a playmaker would give a defense the best chance at limiting him

100% agreed, with every other "top tier scorer" you can point to a notable weak point, whether that's 3 point shooting, handle limitations, lack of strength, etc. But Kawhi checks each and every box, all it comes down to is being healthy.

The main difference between kawhi and other "superstars" in the league is that kawhi will score 25-35 within the flow of the offense. And when a teamate is hot he will gladly not take any shots. And spend his energy locking up on defense and create transition oppurtunities or moving off the ball bending the defense which allows him to play with non shooters. While the so called superstars have little to no impact when the ball is not in their hands. While his teamates just stand and wait for a pass. Not to mention, their defense is so bad that the teamates who arent even touching the ball multiple possessions in a row have to cover for them on defense which happens a lot since they are the target. Then those said teamtes gets the blame for not producing on offense which isnt fair cause they never even get to touch the ball to make plays. At the end of the day these athletes are still human and these things affect morale.

With Kawhi Leonard ability, much like any great player, you're pretty much at his mercy. This leaves you few option when he decides to score on you. So, your 1st is pray: he miss, get blocked or pass the ball. Your second, is pray when he miss, he or his team doesn't get the rebound. Your third, pray he's not on the floor period (maybe, this should be your 1st prayer).

I think they're in the same tier, it's really hard to compare because of era and stylistic differences. Without illegal defense, Pippen would've been way more like Draymond, and in that sense he'd be more valuable to me.
