Decades have passed since it was said that the Nobel Prize would not have been won if the retail coin had climbed on its back. But there is a lot of essence hidden in that word. We may not be in the field of science like Einstein. We may be in different fields. But we won't be good cops if we get on the retail dime. Can't be a doctor. Not even a lawyer. Neither will an engineer. Nothing happens. We become something only when we stop longing for retail money!
ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಕಾಸಿನ ಬೆನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ನೋಬೆಲ್ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಬರುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ನಡೆದು ದಶಕಗಳೇ ಕಳೆದಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಸತ್ವ ಅಡಗಿದೆ. ನಾವು ಐನ್‌ಸ್ಟೀನರಂತೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರಬಹುದು. ನಾವು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಕಾಸಿನ ಬೆನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪೊಲೀಸರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್‌ರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ವಕೀಲರೂ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರೂ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏನೂ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಕಾಸಿನ ಹಂಬಲ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿಂತಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಾವೂ ಏನಾದರೂ ಆಗುತ್ತೇವೆ !
