Lex is very Russian when he loves. Passionate and melancholic. He is all into it and very intense but his other talents are also diverse so eventually he feels guilty that he cannot give enough attention to the other person. No matter if the other person is okay with it and accepts the situation, he feels it is inadequate (or unfair). He also a perfectionist so it’s hard to meet his expectations.

There's something uniquely enabling about being single and 100% focused on business. I was single for years and it enabled me to establish a business and own a house. @@nextgenfootball69420 i don't know that these are particularly "objective" expectations. They are characteristics that can be subjectively perceived by each individual. The manifestation of virtue is unique to each person. This is where that deep connection comes from. I would say "objective expectation" is more like "tall, dark and handsome" or "blonde, blue eyed". These are features, I stated characteristics that make up a person. You can put it into words, we can discuss what makes someone virtuous, as we would someone who is unvirtuous. Think about poets and song writers, they are attempting to draw on the values they like or dislike about someone.

I disagree, friendships are based on the idea that you feel understood by your friend. To reach that level would require AGI.

I don't need to feel understood to be friends with someone. If they don't get me, it's their loss not mine. It still does deepen the friendship if you both understand and get understood by each other. Also feelings are mostly caused by words so i think its possible in some way but not in a whole meaning of the word :)

I think i'd agree with you but if i want to argue I'd say what about a dog? People find friendship with animals. Another might be a child. A child doesn't necessarily have theory of mind, so they don't understand you, but could offer you a candy or toy *they* like as an act of affection, and certainly people form friendship like bonds with young children.

Also there’s about a years waiting list because, you know- the UK. As for finding love I tend to view this as nothing more than an imagined fairytale-esque idealised version of your desires, which ofcourse doesn’t exist, especially when there is no woman that is interested in men like me- I’ve been around long enough to realise that.

Of course his podcast would exist! This is a high-demand, very exclusive (in terms of the guests Lex can get that others cant) , and unlike most businesses, Lex can do his podcast from most major cities. He’s doing from Texas now, has done from Boston area, others do from NY, LA, Nashville, Miami, and other places that are escaping my memory. I can’t imagine ones personal life affecting their podcast career. Is a ridiculous question. There are so many other careers that may limit ones ‘location’, but in this day and age, I can’t think of too many that will control where Lex decides to live. Is this question a joke?? It sounds like a joke!

If he can have a really secure system and sufficient software defences, and we can know 100% that this random chick isn’t guna turn out to be our YOKO, then I reckon that Lex could find someone he could sync himself to easily. Obviously. We program it so it needs to do something silly to survive. Like burn objects for energy. But not any object otherwise it could survive easily. Only objects that we can provide it easily but it can not provide for itself easily. And then we offer those objects (i vote we call it "food") in exchange for effort. Actually, scratch that. Let's offer the food in exchange for a currency that we create and control freely, and then put a price on food. And KZfaq and books for that matter. Can't have those damn lazy AI do what they want and not work for us!

Why is Lex single? Because he's torn between what he thinks he knows and what he knows that he doesn't know. As a Scientist, he's trained to look for absolutes. True Luv don't work that way, it can be inexplicable and there's no one universal practical definition. It's not a constant state of being, existing, it ebb's and flows, waxes and wanes, it can be blind or all encompassing. I'd venture to say he's had his heart broken at least once, and he's afraid of failure. He possesses a level of naivete that some find charming from the standpoint that it implies some innocence that is associated with genuineness, not saying that it doesn't exist... Needs vs. Want's and Desire's has many gray areas.

We have a vector. How did you not get complaints? You cant keep it in a kids bedroom. It wakes up and drives around randomly making noise. It falls off the table, because its edge sensors arent calibrated correctly. It used to talk and give you the weather at least. Anki went bankrupt and shut down the servers. The company that bought them out wants a few hundred dollars upfront and $12/month to regain its previous functionality. You cant connect to it and train it new things or really interact with it. Its too bad, because it seems like a well designed package with a lot of potential. I would only want one of these if its open source and you can download or write new files for it. This guy founded a company that ended up screwing its customers. Hopefully he feels at least a little bad for that.
