Would expect the Liverpool owners to get the new manager sorted sooner rather than later in order to have a fully prepared pre season. It needs sorting asap.

Alonso with Pep Linders as his assistant would be ideal. It would help Alonso tremendously in his first year and help him bed in quickly. Why, because Linders has a tremendous knowledge if all the players at Liverpool from youth level upwards. He is also popular with the players and can help them transition to potentially a new style of play under Alonso.

Must be Xabi. But whoever is to take over from Klopp when he leaves at the end of the season, it needs to be sorted out ASAP! Can't be waiting until Klopp goes!

I think you should have looked over two seasons. They are good indicators but over a season it's difficult to be sure those numbers are all due to the manager but also the players impact

David - there’s a huge risk we just don’t get him. If he wins Bundesliga, surely he carries on with BL and goes into CL and year 2 in Germany? So if Klopp had won the premiership in 2016 with us, it’s like saying he’d jump ship after one year if he got Real Madrid offering him a role. This feels like Bellingham situation, where all LFC got there hopes up, only to sort of find out, we were never really at the races anyway. Also, he’s quite astute guy, for him B Munich and LFC are seen at same level. His main aim will be to take Real Madrid at some point (the dream job). Even if he does come to us, once Madrid come calling, he’ll jump ship. That is probably quite certain.

It depends on Xabi and whether he enjoys living in Germany or would be happy to relocate to the UK once again. If he comes to the UK and Man City are not held to account over their financial doping then his success might be limited. I think he loves Liverpool but it is his family who will sway him in making his next career decision. I imagine we have probably contacted his agent already and will have been given some indication of whether he is interested or not. I'm hopeful we will get him but who knows.

My heart wants Xabi but my head is turning to Amorim...He has a track record of making ok players incredible players. Hes won multiple trophies. Players love him. His system is closer to Klopps than Alonso's which would suit players...I know its an unpopular opinion but i think it may be the correct pick

No pressure but any chance you could so something similar for Amorim too as it's only going to be Alonso or him for me. The job Alonso has done at Leverkusen is nothing short of tremendous. The transformation is incredible over such a short period of time. The worry for me is that you can already sense the weight of expectation and pressure placed on his shoulders from some of our fans, and he hasn’t even got the job yet. The premier league is a step up in class. It’s going to take at least 2/3 years in my opinion, for Alonso to implement his way of doing things, aswell as his own style and philosophy. We need to be patient. Alonso would be my appointment also, but I don’t think we can dismiss the idea of Ruben Amorim taking over either. The job he has done at Sporting Lisbon is spectacular, working under a tight budget. He has plenty of charisma and he’s a leader and a winner. He has also won stuff over a five year period and he’s still only 39.

The real key is wether FSg can sell their vision or regime to Alonso.. and make a compelling case... Need to provide assurances he will be backed... If not he will say thanks, but no thanks..... Alonso or Almiron or de zirbi. The issue with de zirbi is Brighton would want serious compensation and fsg may net want to spend that sirt if fee.....

Alonzo will stay currently with his club until his contract is up for renewal 2025/26 why would he leave when he is doing so well where he is. The pressure is really gonna pure on Liverpool though as Man Utd, Newcastle are already approaching sporting directors with offers but yet to be formally made as of today.

But if the club fails to sign him, the next best manager for Liverpool to sign is none other than Zidane. This guy is a winner. He has practically won everything there is to win.
