If he plays LB and it turns into a back 3 in possession, Ibou & Pacho stepping up to win the ball with Virgil & Alisson sweeping up behind them is crazy. Sadly if we get Pacho we might not see Robbo as much anymore, when he plays he’s still very good but his body is clearly breaking down from years under Klopp demanding system.

Robbo is washed and has been for 2 years. I love the lad, but sentimentality has to go if we are going to back to the top. Need to sell this summer as it’s probably the last chance we have to get any funds for him and would he want to be on the bench? I believe he is 30 also. Need a new LB and we can keep Kostas as he’s fin being a bench player and is 28.

I think Mainz is planning on triggering the fee agreed last summer to keep him. Which i think is sadly quite low, I think 5M. Poor business by Klopp and Schmadke there imo

If you are going to play him at left back, moving to left sided cb when in possession this signing makes sense. But as the new VVD? Absolutely not. Simply because our centre backs are always absolute beasts in the air.

You won't get a better player than Calafiori for that LCB/LB hybrid role in the current market but its really hard to convince Italians to play in other leagues that too in England

I think we should stick with jarrel. Just made the England squad over plenty quality English CB’s similar age aswell and he was performing relatively well in a harder league

I prefer Colwill or Inacio to be honest, but I'm sure whatever the club decides will be a good decision. I have faith in Edwards/Hughes duo. And also, it's crucial we get a proper class DM (no offense to Endo, he's great and I'm happy if he stays in the club for years to come, but in the PL/CL we need a bit more quality). Not quite sure who that player is, but I think Varela from Porto has the potential to be one of the best in the DM position even though curently doesn't have the best defensive numbers. Against Arsenal in CL, he was immense, sweeping every ball, so I would take a punt with him. The attack is another area of the pitch we need to resolve, but I guess the incomings will depend on who goes and if Carvalho can step up and be an important part of the squad. I'm assuming that one winger will be bought even if we don't sell one of Salah, Diaz or Darwin, but hopefully next season with Arne we can keep pace with City and Arsenal again. Top 4 should be the minimum requirement for me considering the quality in our squad!

I think we should go for Inacio, Palhinha, Gyoköres and maybe someone like Koopmeiners. We need some experience but also players young enough that they still have sell-on value, and they also need to actually be good enough. Palhinha is a class act at Fulham. Koopmeiners seems like the real deal at Atalanta. Inacio is rock solid, and Gyoköres is extremely lethal.

@@gurururuwarararara8164 I like these transfers, but we might need to sell at least 1 big player in order to afford them, because they would be expensive. Palhinha is probably a bit older than I would've like, but it's fine when we have Bajcetic coming through, and also another possible negative is his on the ball work. He's a defensive monster and we need that, but his passing is questionable and I don't know if it will be a deciding factor for us. Still, I would be more than fine if we buy him around the 50-60 million mark. Gyoköres - great striker, kinda similar to Darwin, but more polished finisher, so I won't mind him, maybe a bit too expensive though. Again, it will be a good transfer if we get him. Inacio - again, hopefully we get him, great young LCB. The only one I'm not sure we need from the ones you suggested is Koopmeiners, but he is quite a versatile player, so it won't be a bad buy, I just think it will be better we get a winger instead, especially RW.

@Vladi2102 I definitely like the idea of buying Kudus as well, I just don't see us pulling off 5 major signings when Slot is the type of guy to develop young talent, at least from what I've heard. If we Gyoköres, we can move Darwin to left wing where I think he will thrive. A front three of Salah, Gyoköres and Darwin might be one of the best ones yet. And, if we end up selling Salah, we definitely should go for Kudus, 100%. But if Salah sticks around, I'm not sure that there's room for Kudus.... Unless both Diaz and Gakpo gets sold 🤔

We have the Young in Quansah and Van Den Berg. We need an experienced old war horse cover for the Matip role, preferably left footed. Or convert Robbo to LCB. Or just buy Pacho or Bastoni.

He looks solid, but with Quansah we already have a young CB knocking on the door. Not sure if having two young and eager players competing for similar minutes will be beneficial to either.

Hot take but I don’t think we need a cdm. We have Endo and bajectic, we also have Tyler Morton coming back from loan. I just think this season was hard because bajectic wasn’t fit and couldn’t rotate to give Endo a rest. Also if we switch to 4-2-3-1 under slot, we already have a lot of players who can play in a double pivot like jones, Macca, gravenberch, Endo and bajectic.

I agree tbh - Endo overachieved, Stefan is available for rotation and Macca proved he was just as good in that role as well. Defensive and set piece errors let us down, Konate isn't a title winning CB and it's too much pressure for Quansah just now imo. A quality RCB and a new RW/ST would put us in a cracking position, we weren't far off this season remember.

@@ibibobriggs8397 I agree, but there isn't really a DM in the market that is as good as Rodri or Fabinho in his prime. Rodri is a rare breed! Obviously Rice who is relatively close, but we missed that train and maybe Tchouameni that has the potential to be that player, but I doubt we can take him from Real Madrid, so the only thing we can do is buy someone young with great potential who can step up quickly and become half as good as Rodri is. We might have a diamond in Stefan Bajcetic, but he is still really really young and raw, and after the setback with the long injury for the whole season, it would be very risky if we go into the new season with only Endo and Stefan as our DM players.

Rodri was terrible in his first season at city. Just buy someone with the raw components and give them the correct coaching. Just like pep has.
