हिंदी फ़िल्म जगत में 80 के दशक में कई अभिनेत्रियां ऐसी हुई थी जिन्होंने बॉलीवुड के राज किया और अपनी पहचान अलग बनाई। लेकिन कुछ अभिनेत्रियां ऐसे हुई थी जो गुमनामी की ज़िंदगी जी रही हैं। चलिए जानते हैं ऐसे ही कुछ अभिनेत्रियों के बारे में। 40 साल तक सिनेमा जगत पर राज करने वाली एक्ट्रेस माला सिंह के बारे में कुछ बातें जानते हैं बॉलीवुड में माला सिन्हा के चाहने वाले कम नहीं थे। वह 80 के दशक में दर्शकों के दिलों पर राज किया करती थी। उनकी एक्टिंग और गायिका के लोग दीवाने थे।आपको बता दे ऐक्ट्रेस ने कुछ ऐसा कर दिया जिसके बाद इंडस्ट्री ही नहीं बल्कि एक्टर्स के फैन भी हैरान गो गए। माला सिन्हा के घर के बाथरूम में लाखों रुपया मिले थे और जब ये बात लोगों को पता चली तो वह दंग रह गए। माला के बारे में यह अनसुनी किस्सा के बारें में हम आज आपको बताने जा रहे हैं।
Mala Sinha started her career as child artist in Bengali films - Jai Vaishno Devi followed by Shri Krishan Leela, Jog Biyog and Dhooli. Noted Bengali director Ardhendu Bose saw her acting in a school play and took permission from her father to cast her as a heroine in his Bengali film Roshanara (1952), her cinematic debut.
After acting in a couple of films in Calcutta, Mala Sinha went to Bombay for a Bengali film. There she met Geeta Bali, a noted Bollywood actress, who was charmed by her and introduced her to director Kidar Sharma. Sharma cast her as a heroine in his Rangeen Ratein. Her first Hindi film was Badshah opposite Pradeep Kumar, then came Ekadashi, a mythological film opposite Trilok Kapoor. Both films did not do well, but her lead role in Kishore Sahu's Hamlet, paired opposite Pradeep Kumar, fetched her rave reviews in spite of it failing at the box office. Films such as Lai Batti (actor Balraj Sahni's only directorial venture), Nausherwan-E-Adil where she starred as the fair maiden Marcia in Sohrab Modi's romance about forbidden love and Phir Subah Hogi, which was director Ramesh Saigal's adaptation of Dosteovsky's Crime and Punishment established Mala Sinha's reputation as a versatile actress who took the maximum career risks by accepting unconventional roles.
She used to sing for All India Radio; she was not allowed to sing playback (even for herself) in the movies with the lone exception being 1972's Lalkar.[7] In the 1950s, she had string of hits opposite Pradeep Kumar such as Fashion (1957), Detective (1958) and Duniya Na Mane (1959). The films she did with Pradeep Kumar were men-oriented. In 1957, noted Bollywood actor and director Guru Dutt cast Mala Sinha in his film Pyaasa (1957) in a role originally intended for Madhubala. Mala Sinha performed in the relatively unsympathetic part of an ambitious woman who chooses to marry a rich man (played by actor Rehman) and have a loveless marriage, rather than a poor, unsuccessful poet; her impoverished lover (played by Guru Dutt) whom she ditches. Pyaasa remains to this day a classic in the history of Indian cinema and a turning point for Sinha.
After Pyaasa, her major successes were Phir Subah Hogi (1958) and Yash Chopra's directorial debut Dhool Ka Phool, (1959) that elevated her into a major dramatic star.[8] She was part of many successful movies from 1958 to the early '60s such as Parvarish (1958), Ujala, Main Nashe Main Hoon, Duniya Na Mane, Love Marriage (1959), Bewaqoof (1960), Maya (1961), Hariyali Aur Rasta, Dil Tera Deewana (1962), Anpadh and Bombay Ka Chor (1962).
She consistently did lead roles in Bengali films throughout 1950's to 1970's. Her performance in films like Lookochoori (1958) opposite Kishore Kumar and Kelaghar (1959),Saathihaara and Shohorer Itikotha.

She had worked in 80 movies. Income Tax department and Government had no business raiding her place and looking for money. Unless she was indulged in illegal business such as drugs or human trafficking, she was unnecessarily troubled. Secondly, you cannot keep all the money. You can just take the amount of tax due, and return all the money.

I heard this story long bck from one of my aunt...but it surprise me like anything bcoz she was a top actress n one of the highest paid actress. She was earning so good n aftr being on top ur image n reputation becomes ur priority bcoz she was aware tht it can harm her Career... Baat kuch aur thi. It was her hard income money for which she didn't pay tax n wanted to save it from taxes. It can be only reason...but at the stake of her own image/reputation?????

In those days Income Tax rates were extremely high 98% so lot of dealings were in cash. Mala Sinha use to do all household work . Her reply was just to save her savings in cash. She had a building at Mogal lane , Mahim. Many times to collect rent She use to come herself. People in that building were benefited during raid as she just took 100 times rent & given them ownership.

Mala Sinha's Nepali movie Maiti Ghar and the title song Maiti Ghar still so much popular among Nepalese people. Similar to Danny Denzongpa, Mala Sinha too was humiliated by producers when they were trying their luck in Bollywood. Danny was offered a security guard job when he approached one of the producers. Later, he bought his own bunglow just beside the house of that producer. Both great examples of how your talent, hardwork, dedication and self-belief reward you with good things in life.

The politicians of this country may be doing any offence and mint money by foul means, no one government agencies will raid them for amassing that money, but the people who earn by doing hard work always remain on the target of them. Mala Sinha was helpless to say so in the court, only to save herself, which may not be true at all .Politicians take all benefits with the tax money of the people, and never pay any income tax whom the people elect them ,only to get harassment at their hands. Hell with such a corrupt system.
