Actually Solar is 32yrs, Moonbyul will be 31 this December, and Wheein and Hwasa are 28yrs old. So early thirties and late twenties. Next year will be their 10th debut anniversary.

yesss you’re going to love the immortal songs performances, please watch all of them!! and when you do remember that they are performing each song in front of the original singers which are legends in the korean music industry (hence the show’s name) and you can see how much fire mamamoo has in their eyes while performing even though they are extremely nervous, a different vibe from when they did the medley where they were more relaxed performing for moomoo’s but somehow in between that they poured themselves and gave their all performing on that show.

Beautiful video ❤ RBW is not a great company to maintain their career, but what I love about this company that RBW gave MMM freedom to explore their personality and speciality. And especially RBW didn't let someone under 17 years old to debut. And thats a great gesture of RBW I apreciate.

think its not the cute image they are criticizing..its the discrimination and hate they got because they didnt do the typical "cute style" that general industry used to or expect.

Glad you loved this video and learned a lot from it. I'll toss in my 2 cents on a couple of the topics you mentioned. I'm the wrong demographic for the cute girly concepts and don't like them but regardless of my personal dislike of the music and production style that goes along with cuteness I've always felt uncomfortable with how teenaged girls are presented in kpop. Imo it's not surprising that feminism is a dirty word to many people in S Korea, esp men, when they think aegyo is cute rather than cringy and their ideal of feminine beauty is an anorexically skinny woman with a small girlish face and barely a hint of womanly curves. Seems like a Lolita fixation to me. MMM has a different performance philosophy than groups who focus on presenting perfectly synchronized, knife-like choreo every time out and don't mind lip synching or relying heavily on backing track vocals. MMM's choreo allows them to sing live and (almost always) use hand mics rather than headset mics and leaves plenty of room for ad libs, improvised moments, pranks and other hijinks as well as much more audience interaction during songs than is typical in kpop. The stage is their playground and the audience is their play date for the day. They try to make every performance unique and that's also why they often rearrange or remix their hit songs for concerts, award shows and other special events. It's an old school entertainer philosophy requiring massive amounts of extra work, creativity and flexibility that not everyone can or wants to pull off. I don't think there is or should be only one approach to performance but I love MMM's approach and I think it makes them a must see live group cuz you never know what to expect. The gender fluid dance troupe is called Pinky Cheeks and that performance is from the 2016 MMA award show. I love that they prefer action over words when it comes to issues they believe in. They've shown their longtime support of the lgbtq+ community in many ways, like inviting Pinky Cheeks to join them at a nationally televised award show, including drag musicians in Solar's glam band in Hip, Wheein presenting a lesbian love story in the Goodbye MV and Moonbyul writing an erotic lesbian song accompanied by an MV that shows w/w desire and passion as normal and homey rather than kinky and titillating as it's often portrayed in MVs that cater to hetero male fantasies. They try to be inclusive of hearing impaired fans by incorporating sign language in their choreo and Wheein has been seen signing with fans at fanmeets. And of course their war against internet bullying and malicious sm comments via Hip, Hwasa's Maria and LMM, and in their live streams and performances. They stand up for what they believe in while writing empowering songs that encourage self-love and acceptance of others for their uniqueness and individuality. Moonbyul is the most highly credited lyricist among female idols with over 100. Hwasa and Solar each have several dozen credits for lyrics and music and Wheein has done some songwriting but has the least credits in the group. Mamamoo has been involved in all creative aspects of their career since the beginning including songwriting, arranging, choreography, styling and MV concepts. RBW formed MMM with the idea of promoting them as artists rather than teen idols and the members have had more freedom than most idols to express themselves and explore a wide variety of concepts and musical genres throughout their career. Moomoos have mixed feelings about RBW because the company has made mistakes that have harmed MMM and they do a mediocre at best job of promoting them but RBW also deserves credit for plucking the members off the scrap heap of audition rejects and retreads from other companies and giving them an artistic home to develop and showcase their many talents.
