The life of a sports star is totally wrapped up in the sport they are in. The sport must take every waking moment of thier life. When an athlete gets to the end of their life cycle they can either step down or they will be forced out. That is a very hard life style. It takes a toll on all involved. Glad that he has made the decision to step down before he is beyond his own choice.

I think there is a couple of reasons for Truex stepping down. First, he doesn't have anything to prove. He is a winner and one of the greatest drivers ever. The second thing is he will keep racing maybe not full time but in choice races, but also l think out of consideration for Joe Gibbs with the influx of incredible talent that is going to be available just maybe Joe Gibbs can get a replacement driver that in a few years could be a dominant factor to Joe Gibbs Racing. It's a win win situation for Truex and Mr. Gibbs. Does anyone else think that. If so respond!?
