One more reason which you didn't add In India we tend to play those games which are easier PUBG wasn't tough to play ..it was more like enter , shoot , kill , survive MOBA genre is like strategy and analysis Study build which we don't even read Counters and lot of factors are there which we don't even care to read so games like battle Royale and shooters thrive more in India

I'm late to this but coming from a guy who had played different moba games; that's freaking true. Whenever I get matched with any other indian most don't even play well or know what to build to counter late game heros. Freaking have to turn on audio, to speak and let them know what they've to build

Bro dota was fairly poplar in India with second biggest reports scene after cs. Bak then there were a lot of lans conducted also esl one Mumbai was conducted which had fairly big prize pool and teams like navi competed in it.

I don't know if anyone knows this but- Mlbb used to on top 5 tho- It was really popular in India especially in Northeast side. I remember there was one tournament in India (idk maybe in Mumbai or was it Bangalore welp). There were various competitions in northeast India and maybe if it wasn't banned then we could've played it on international level (maybe?)

if MLBB was not banned, Indian ML teams would have been way more successful than our bgmi(pubgm) teams on international level. But it is what it is... and gamers , big youtubers dont want to try or even promote new games properly, they just want bgmi community to grow, still they have no major achievements in international esports and internationally this community is not even that popular, thats why esports in India is dead.
