I remember this guy playing for Dortmund..When you see ball control like this you are normally talking about Pele, Maradona, Messi etc.. This dude did things that Ronaldinho & R9 did... When I was younger I saw this guy at FC Midtjylland. He was dominating the danish league, dribbled through defenders like it was nothing. I remember thinking, this is the best player Ive ever seen in Denmark. And I dont think I'll ever see anyone better.

I've read once that there used to be a German community in Alexandria that was (business wise) important/influential to the city for a few decades from the 1870s or 1880s I think up until the 1930s. Also a German tribe did migrate to and ultimately settle in countries next to Egypt.

Arguably the closest thing to Phenomeno Ronaldo. Speed, agility, explosiveness, technique, eye for the goal. Those dribbling skills, to be honest I don't see them anymore in strikers (No.9) All they care about these days is staying in the box and head. Or they ran away to the wings. But not many can take on Defenders from a No.9 position like this guy. Too bad he didn't play at the TopTop

Im egyptian and i agree with u . Mohamed zidan is far better than salah but tbh he lacked the mentality of a world class player thats why his football career was short lived . But For abu treika and hossam hassan both of them shined in the football world when they were above 28 years old . Thats why they never made it to the big euro leagues

I remember growing up watching him in the danish league. He was ridiculous. Everything about him reminded me about Ronaldo. If he'd stayed disciplined he could easily have played for barca or real. His talent was unmatched

he had so much potential i remember when there were rumours about Arsenal wanting him just before he got injured really badly and basically stopped playing in Europe. it is sad that a member of the squad that lead Egypt's national team to be in the 9th place in the fifa strongest teams list for 2009 (if i remember correctly) didn't have enough luck to become a superstar

Between 2004-10. Egypt had sensational talent in Zaki, Zidan, Aboutrika and others. Eventhough they dominated in the African nation cup (3x champ in that period), it's a shame that Injuries kept them from making noise on the world stage in 2006 & 2010.

I was from the last generation that was lucky to see him in his prime and these clips were rare at the time but we watched him with the national team. BRILLIANT. Sometimes I day dream that he would be 10 years late and have him in the national team with SALAH. I swear we could be in world Cup semifinals easily :(

Me and my brother used to pretend we were Moteab and Zidan playing in our school ground while growing up 😩. One of the best and deadliest striking duos in African football history. We are not even Egyptian but they were DAMN GOOD. Barakat, Aboutrika, Gomaa at the back, El-Mohammady in his prime, Hossam Hassan... and of course the legendary El Haddary in goal. Very underrated national team. Right up there with Spain 08-12, Brazil 1958-1970, Ferenc Puskas’ Mighty Magyars of Hungary, France 98-02, Cruyff’s Oranje’s Total Football team et cetera.
