It's because he puts himself in such a vulnerable position, any person that looks like him and his age with half his confidence would be roasted into oblivion, they wouldn't take him seriously. He lets people know that he can't be bullied and that he's not insecure. It's the same thing with Jonah in the vlog squad, you have to be a bit of an asshole so people don't take advantage of you. It's a defense mechanism. The way around this is to be vulnerable but altruistic, not engaging social interactions with social hierarchy in mind, but instead love everyone, that's very hard to do. Be that person that treats everyone with respect.

i'm from Portugal and i've been in both, the quality is different because private schools WANT you to be there and public schools don't really care that much, so you're pressured to get good grades in private and in public no one cares lol. private schools also famously change your grades and make easier tests to get better rankings
