Multicam has been in premier for lik 10 years or more. They just didn't have a button in an easy spot.

This video just saved me SO much time, effort and probably saved my hand from a few bruises (from frustratingly punching my desk). I run a Vlog for my company and also film interviews, and we are just starting to use the multi-camera technique for them. I have been dreading thinking about the edits. This blew my mind. As do most of your tutorials. Thanks! :)

In one of his videos he mentions adding a sticker to one end of the battery and placing them sticker up if they’re dead so he can effectively just look and know without needing to put them in the camera to check.

Multicam is awesome Peter McKinnon. Virtually everything I shoot is multicam and it increases production value by miles without much more work. Set up takes some time, but if you have a place where gear can stay set up, you are golden!

Noob question but how do yiou bypass the 30 min video record limit with multicam setups?

Ejay Cruz actually great question. Today I used three cameras, 1 gh5 with no recording limit, and 2 gh4s with a 30 minute limit. I set up the gh5 out of reach and pressed record no limit no worries. I sat by a gh4 and after 20 min I stopped recording and then restarted. I set the second gh4 out of reach and used the Panasonic app to run the camera remotely. After 22 minutes I stopped recording and the started again. When synching the files I always have at least 2 cameras running so I just use one of the angles that is up when 1 camera is done. In sun this may need to be modified as the time limit is for sensor overheating, so you may need to shut down and let a camera cool. But that is the general idea.

But you can use Multicam with one camera too! If you film a music video or so where you film 5 times the same, just in different places, you can cut this with Multicam. 😉

Thanks this was a HUGE help! Was both videographer and minister for my sisters wedding. Since camera had to be stationary used your tips to change multicamera angles to keep it more interesting.

Yep FCPX does all the same stuff.......its sad they deleted it for a while....it gave them a bad rep, but now FCPX is so powerful it blows my mind.......we have 30 Machines running it and to be honest its the best move we ever made.....and since going that way we have had no downtime at all with the Mac/FCPX combination.......which pleases me no end I can tell you.

I discovered Multicam editing a few months ago and it totally blew my mind as well! Seriously super helpful considering most of the interviews and weddings I do use multiple cameras! Huge time saver! I'm glad I'm not the only one who was super late to the game.

This is amazing! It reminds me of when I would like edit the morning annouments in High School - so much better this way! Didn't even know this was possible
