WHY MY CAR VIBRATES. ENGINE MOUNT VIBRATIONS
If your car vibrates when driving or idling and the vibrations changes with rpms then this video will show you how a bad engine mount can cause vibrations. Vibrations could be cause by not balanced tires, bent wheels, wore out drive shaft, but they will be dependent on speed and not rpms. When engine mount goes bad you will notice that the vibrates appear or disappear at certain rpms or load. When the engine mount is broken the vibrations from the engine will be transferred to the body of the car and you will feel the dash vibrating the seats vibrating as well.

I just bought a 2005 ford focus, and noticed that the engine vibrates at a dead stop, but smoothes out at speed. Today I inspected the engine mount featured in the video.... and its a dead mount. For a $3,000 car I didnt expect perfection. I expected to have some issues, and a $125 AUD engine mount was perfectly within my planning. It's easy to spend $10,000 on a car and still have to replace things like the engine mounts, which is about a 15 minute job. I would rather save the other $7,000 dollars and replace things as they need to be replaced, than shell out $10,000 on the car and still have to spend another $7,000 to get it up to scratch. Even with all 3 engine mounts for my focus, I'm only looking at $300. It still runs like a scalded dog and gets decent fuel evonomy. $300 for mounts is not an issue/

thanks for this comment my 07 focus just started shaking very slightly during a stop in a rhythmic pattern, nice to know nothing serious is wrong

Car is good, no vibration or noise at slower speeds. When I get on the interstate, getting between 60 to 70 the floor boards vibrating. I have recently had the all the struts replaced. Along with the brakes, even the right wheel bearing. The steering wheel isn't shaking. Brakes are working good .

I've had the tiers balance. New struts. New wheel bearings both sides on the front. Got New tiers. Recently had another 4 wheel alignment. Now 190000 plus miles. A mechanic says it's the rack and pinion going out. Hey, is that for sure?

We literally have identical situations going on. I saw a mechanic and he showed me my rear engine mount was busted he could easily rock the while engine under the car. Getting it replaced

Aftermarket mount never stop vibration, always use OEM Mounts

I have tested my father's Crosstrek in park with a little gas and the whole car shaked, I'm assuming it's a worned engine that's causing this.

Don't forget to check the injectors.. A faulty injector can led to vibration when u push gas pedal...

Car vibrating more at a load going even a slight upgrade. Doesn't make any noise. Can it possibly be just the motor mounts on a 2012 Chevy impala with 155, 000 miles?

Got 2012 ford fusion s. The vibrations are bad at ldle. I put in neutral and it calms down. I did plugs, and throttle body.

01 Pontiac Grand Prix. What is a decent motor mount that won't break the bank? Everybody on the internet is saying that anchor and DEA are junk. I am not looking to spend $80 at the general motors dealership. I am not real hard on my car will a anchor or DEA Mount be good enough for me?

OKay when i am sitting at a light car has vibration...idle is set good... if i put in park or neutral it stops? is this a bad motor mount? its a 2005 nissan altima...its not real bad,but is annoying...thanks

no. if they are properly installed to start with, then tightening is not the issue, the issue is rubber in the mount goes bad, collapses, and the metal frame in which the rubber is housed, has to take all the vibration the engine produces. Replace the mount(s)

I've got a vibration only at idle.. mazda 6 2005. Cleaned parts from egr, throttle.body, maf, intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets. Cannot find the source. So I was thinking it vibration at idle, could still be mounts? I put the car into first (manual) and let clutch out, the engine tilts towards the driver...

Yes it most definately could still the the mount. My cx-7 which is basically a 6 in an suv shell only vibrated in gear at idle, once i replaced the one where most the vibrations were coming from it stopped. I also had 2 pulleys and my belt replaced just to be sure it wasnt anything else on my passenger side.

yes, and there are three, but 99% of it will be a collapsed mount as depicted in the video. Its about a 15 minute job and in my opinion not worth paying a mechanic $500 for. All you need is the basic tools, ie sockets, ratchet, and floor jack to support the engine and its a piss easy job.All 3 mounts should take less than 1 hour if you are mechaniclly inclined

Hi. I have problem with front bumper vibration. The rest is perfect not any vibration in different places, engine and his vibration are ok. When I touch bumper in the middle ( on the grill) like You have logo Mazda is quiet, and when You release the hand is more loud and more vibration. This is from few days , earlier it started to vibrate on the sides of the front bumper. I didn't touch nothing there before. What could be the cause and what transmits the vibrations to the bumper ?? Car is Toyota Avensis T27 estate. Thanks.

I never had vibrations. I just replaced engine mounts and transmission Mount. And now I have vibrations. Is it because the mounts are new and stiff and need to be broken in?

Hi Thanks your most updated info about vehicle. Could you please resolve my recent issue. Recently I change engine mount, transmission mount, and others for honda Odyssey exl 2006. After change the mounts when I start the van start vibrating. When is run no problem but when I stop or just start the engine then start vibrating. Could you please tell me what is the problem mechanic could not find. There was no vibration before he just started after changing the mounts. Thanks.

Can this happen when your braking ? im having alot of issues with violent shaking while braking. all new rotors, calipers, pads, shoes, drums, ball joints and bearings all been replaced twice in the last year still shaking
