He looks so freaked out when he’s looking up, like he’s really concerned about this one particular insect, like he can’t fathom that it’s totally out of reach and just not worried about Tommy eating it. It’s a shock for him and his shocked face is priceless.

My Runt(obviously named) does this daily. She'll watch the corners where the bugs will come through, wait(for an hour sometimes) and eat them. She got a stink bug the other day and her face while chewing was priceless 🤣

I always take my cat seriously when he finds something in the house. You never know when it could be something like a scorpion or a lizard. In my case, it was helpful when I woke up and saw a big spider above my bed and he confirmed it was a hallucination by not reacting.

I live with a 48” long, tip of tail to nose, 27lb Maine Coon. He kills and eats all flying insects in the house. I have witnessed him jumping up to the ceiling to catch flies and other critters. The problem sometimes is where he lands. 🙄 It’s even been on me in the middle of the night. It’s like being kicked by a mule.

When I first moved to Texas, I thought “hey, no flies here. Cool.” Nope. My new cat was ambushing and playing with them while I was at work. One day I stumbled across her pile of “played with” little friends** behind the dresser and figured it out. ** - Mostly wings. Lots.

Whatever bugs your kittie likes, we got 'em here and, of course, everything is bigger in Texas. *Ants - we got elephant size down to near microscopic. They live inside and outside. Do they bite? Well, they're ants...so yeah. Do they [] love cat food? Very much! And they can find it wherever you put it. I have spent time building fortresses around food bowls only to see a bowl full of ants later on. What has worked for me is wiping the surrounding floor with lemon juice and water. There are nontoxic solutions that are on the market. Your local vet may be a good information resource. * Scorpions - mostly in the desert areas, but my mom was bitten by one in San Antonio. * Pill bugs - Cats love batting the poor little guys around when they collapse into a ball. * Moths - my cat's favorite playtoy as they fly around the light bulbs. * Outside buggies. I solved the problem of fleas, ticks, heartworms, chiggers, etc. by having only inside cats. I never knew about these growing up in the desert long ago. They were in existence in east Texas when I moved there. Thus, the inside -only decision. Have a wonderful life with your family here in Texas!

@@marthawelch4289 For the ant problem- try putting the food dish in the middle of a plate or larger dish filled with water. Put a puppy pad or newspaper under the plate for spilled water. The cat will probably drink it, so you’ll have to refill the water. It’s basically a moat for the food castle.

This is just so classic. My cat did this recently and I had to finally investigate...I just knew it had to be some kind of insectiopoid...some tiny bit of protein that kept my youngest cat enthralled for nearly an hour. Well, I finally stopped playing games on my phone or whatever I was doing and had to check out what exactly we had here. Yup. A teeny tiny spider sort of thing, no wings. On the ceiling over the bed. I like spiders well enough but this one struck me as being perhaps questionable... did it have the requisite eight legs (I guess they have two front grasping appendages besides, so 10 altogether, but they are tucked up so you don't see them from a distance) or were there only six? Wow, so small...squinting at it...I pondered this, because if it had six, I didn't want it meeting a bug spouse, having a whirlwind romance, and producing its bug eggs in my apartment. It's a clean, well-managed building and we don't have critters. So there I was...staring at the ceiling...six or eight? I guess I'm practically an honorary cat. It had six. Piece of crumpled paper towel at the ready, I made my move.

I sometimes use my Lilly as a biological flyswatter by holding here up to the bug and let her lightning quick paws dispose of it. Works remarkably well and she gets to catch and eat something. 😋 In any case, cats constantly on the prowl are great spotters for all kinds of invaders. Just look at where they stare. 😄

My cat would do that but there was no bugs... He'd stare right next to my head while in bed like there was someone right next to me. Nothing more comforting than your cat fixated on a vacant spot right next to you

Too funny!! Could be your guardian kitty, looking out for you, &/or he sees your angel beside you...?? They have special senses for the spiritual. That's why cat owners are lucky, some dogs too, not all, (like some are just yappy and high strung and annoying!) Certain types of dog, but most cats. I'm allergic so can't have pets, sadly. Maybe one day a Siberian, God willing... But in the meantime I watch cats and live vicariously through everyone lucky enough to own cats. Or be owned by them, as they say, LoL

Lol! Reminds me of a cat I had years ago 🤣 my hubby would hold him up to the ceiling and say "bug! Bug bug bug! Go get that bug!" And the cat would just lose it trying to nail the fly on the ceiling 🤣 We did this so often that we only needed to point at the ceiling and say "bug bug bug!" And the cat would look 😆

😂😂😂that was simply hilarious! At first I thought it was a small drone, the buzzing and the light weren’t too clear, but when I saw the actual cause of Tommy’s reaction, oh man that made my day! His face and quick departure was priceless! His eyes, bulging out and his mouth I can’t even describe, just either horror, or, well, horror! And he did what any self preservationist would. He hauled ass outta there! Tommy you’re great! Keep it coming! 😂😂😂😂👍
