Difficult one regarding the Influenzo. She's like your 'Gone in 60 Seconds' Eleanor and your battles with her really put your channel on the map. I'm sure the road tests are easier to film (and much much cheaper) but it really was the captivation of following basically a supercar being fixed by a relative novice (no disrespect intended) with the equivalent of a Haynes manual. For regular folk like me that's fascinating (and inspiring) to watch..

A sad day. I started watching your channel from the first Ferrari video and really enjoyed the content on this car and all the other since. I do prefer the videos where you weee problem solving and repairing as opposed to the review stuff but I realise this is a business for you now so you have to chase the views. Don’t get me wrong your car reviews are great as you have the ability to retain knowledge and real it off well in the videos without a script. It’s impressive as I can’t do that with my watch repair ! I’d still like to see the occasional repair video though its what founded the channel and for us long term subs I think we would appreciate it. 308 has always been a special car for me , I can never afford to own one but watching you with yours has been a joy so I will miss that . All the best Jack. It’s all for the right reasons I’m sure.

Haha, I bought my mk1 in 1999 because my daughter was on the way! Now or never. I still have it 24 years later. Jack, you’re definitively keeping the right car especially for roads like the Thurlbury TT near you; I took mine over a couple of months back and it’s a hoot. My independent Lotus mechanic who has serviced mine from day one reckons they are soon to shoot up in price due to being old enough to be able to import into the USA as a classic car, possibly by +50%. You will be wise to get some decent tires and setup done as it’s another level of handling for sure, good luck and thanks for such an entertaining channel.

Must say Jack your Ferrari looks stunning in this vid, I'm not up on my prices but 60k sounds good value to me. I worked for a Peugeot dealer in what I think were there best years, from 90-98 so worked on new and used 205,309,106,405 and the 306. Again 9k for a sorted GTI6 sounds good to me, especially when you look at prices of 205's now. All the best with the sales, maybe throw in the Pyjamas with the Ferrari as a sweetener 😂

Hi Jack! Sorry to see the cars go, but everything for a reason. My advice on a nice sporty and daily driver, the Alfa Romeo 159 SW Ti with the 1750tbi engine. The Ti trim makes the looks! Had mine for 3 years and was so much fun to drive and a beautiful design too. Never had problems as long as buy one with a good history etc. The diesels seem pretty good too, but I just loved the 1750 because it’s a very lively engine and gives you that Italian touch which you will miss now the 308 is going 😢. Best of luck!

Totally agree with you on the Pug… Gti6 really is the benchmark hot hatch. Drove a press car in Oz a long time ago. A perfect blend of controlled firmess that Peugeot abandoned with the 307, lightning fast turn in, playfull lift off oversteer, probably less than claimed horsepower, good looks and reasonable safety. Good luck with plans mate.

Immensely sad to see your 308 go, Jack, but it was a pleasure to meet you both at Bicester Heritage last year. I only wish I had the funds to take it on. Like many others I too subscribed for the next tale of the achingly beautiful but frustrating InfluEnzo. Your updates kept me (and probably thousands of others) going through lockdown and inspired me to acquire my own bright red classic … and one engine rebuild and countless problems in, I’m also building a nice collection of experiences (and sheaf of bills!). Slightly surprised the Elise is staying but I can see how you’ve become attached (I’m less enamoured tbh). Thank you so much for keeping us all regaled with your ongoing tales over the last few years. We’ll all miss that and YT will be the poorer, but I wish you all good luck for your next endeavour, whatever it is. Do keep us posted on how it goes, and all the very best.

I don't think getting rid of the Ferrari 308 is a shrewd decision I think these will go up in value and styling by Pininfarina's Leonardo Fioravanti is one of the most beautiful cars ever made! That exquisitely sculpted bonnet is a sight to behold! plus the connection with Magnum, P.I. only adds to the appeal. The other two cars are less special not rare so no great loss. As a daily have you considered something special rare? a Lancia Thesis? they have high mileage capabilities! (known in Holland as the Italian Mercedes!) A Golf come-on! is not cutting it on this show! Nobody is interested! just saying.

After contemplation, I would replace Pepe with a Peugeot RCZ facelift, still keeping the Pepe brand, 4 seats, massive boot, double bubble roof very practical for day to day and future unicorn. Second choice BMW Z4 Coupe, drive it forever nice boot all the mod cons, driving pleasure slightly heavy on fuel but the sport button compensates and unicorn status. Instead of the Bentley there are so many great Maseratis with Ferrari engines for a bargain prices if you know what to look for, my favorite is still the Spyder in silver with oxblood interior. As for the 308, the only car you can really replace that with is the 288 GTO because no car on this planet looks better - especially a 77 that you brought back to life, the Lazarus Enfluenzo is part of our KZfaq culture now - keep it. Although its not really my recommendations its just my garage but you and JayEmm have been so inspirational in my collection I just had to let you know, love your channel I've been restoring my 308 GTS '77 for 15 years now and had nearly all the same issues you did, I wish you were around when i started , but loved solving the problems it presented, and so satisfying when you hear that V8 burble the way Enzo intended Look forward to seeing your new garage e buona fortuna per tutto amico mio!

Sounds like almost the standard. My Opel Astra as winter and bad weather driver needed new rear springs, front breaks, a/c cooler, brake lines - at least all independent issues, nothing where you can say neglect has destroyed more costly parts. Cost a fortune. The Opel Calibra as sunny weather car is now hopefully halfway through, was way easier to get through the TÜV.

I take your point, but think the younger generation don't have the appreciation of history or manual cars. Like Model T's - a hard sell with a declining group of people interested in them. Saw a guy with a museum of 'Ordinary' cars. People could relate to them and say "Dad had one". Even big trucks are auto these days and they struggle to find people who can drive the manual 18 speeders. The antique dealers notice this too.

It’s like a Mexican wave that moves along tbh and sort of explains the drop off of pre war car prices and massive increase in 70s and 80s cars (see Fast Ford) Interesting cars from the early 2000s will hit their Zenith in around 10-15 years, when the youngsters that lusted after them have the disposable income to buy their dream classics. @@festerluv9523 Some Iconic cars like the first generation Mustang transcend generations and are desirable even for young enthusiasts. As for the outcasting of fossil fuel users, their detractors will come to their senses when reality hits. Most of them are clueless when it comes to technical matters. In any case, nobody will put a lot of miles on their classic even though they are easier to repair than later models which are basically scrap when the electronics and complex wiring harnesses give up.

Jack! I'm so glad you are keeping the cat😁 My 3 cats sends greetings. I understand this is a hard decision, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Wish you all well into the future. As many here, I came for the InfluEnzo. Today I love your short tests and history around so interesting cars. "Hit the road Jack" (no pun intended). All the Love from Sweden Jack!

@@Number27 Hi Jack! Today I was in the Gardens of Norrviken, Sweden. The gardens was originally made by my grandfather. In the car exhibition was a highly customized Pantera, named TomasOne. It has a Koenigsegg One engine! I spoke to the guy that made it, Tomas, he has worked 5 years for Koenigsegg. Tomas has also changed the "profile" of the car to make it more 21th century. The front windscreen is now actually a Saab 9-5 version. It was stunning and sounded beautifully! As always, Greetings from Sweden!

This is the nature of the beast, once a car is all sorted and driving beautifully, it is just a lawn ornament as far as content creation is concerned. Sad to see the Influenzo go as it was a real struggle to sort out and really built your channel. I'm sure something will come along to replace it. I enjoy your wrenching videos more than your car reviews but I do watch the car reviews too. Your love of automobiles is your strongest asset. Happy motoring.

Hi, I'm your subscriber from Lithuania :) As a daily instead 306, I suggest trying a Giulietta QV. It's pretty cheap to buy, quite reasonable on fuel, has a smooth yet composed ride, and has enough power. One thing I could complain about is the engine noise, which is soulless. Otherwise, the car impresses much, the styling and brakes are fantastico!

The market is about to plummet. Not selling any of ours. Our Elise is just a lovely little fun box, Golf Country whacky and good for jobs (roof rack and towbar), Integrale evo2 (we bought for 11k so I dont care, could never afford one now), Golf GTI mk5 5-door bog standard still like a new car. Would be nice to see a channel who visits people with cool cars and has a bit of story. Rock up with a Fiat Dino and have a coffee and a chat. Just a thought.

Have to say as a sensible but slightly fun daily the Golf GTD is probably a really good choice or the Skoda VRS option if you want a bigger boot . Good luck with the sales

Get yourself a Mercedes E350cdi Coupe. Brilliant car. Late 2011 onwards with the straight DRL lights are 265bhp. Brilliant comfortable mile muncher V6 Diesel. Search for cars with Harmon Kardon as they tend to have lots of extras.

I’ve had 58 cars in 26 years and the only one I regret selling is my s1 Elise. Had much faster, much more exotic, much more expensive but none I bonded with more. Good decision!

Sad to see the car that ultimately boosted your channel to where it is today but good idea to sell that it's actually behaving right now and running well haha. If you want a more modern daily car that's still fun, I would personally recommend an F56 Mini Cooper S, very fun handling, comfortable, remapped from 192hp to 270hp at lohen mini, while still getting 40-50mpg and extremely reliable, absolutely love it.

F56 series mini SD with JCW pack ( not a full JCW ). I have two one of which I keep Italy and drive back every year . Great cars plenty of power and incredible economy!! Well built as pure BMW . I love mine and I used to have Jaguar XKR’s but the Mini is more fun but also very comfortable.

Similar predicament, sold my precovid purchase 1976 911 project once finished and bought a cheaper 280z. You seem to like them so maybe that will suit? The F56 Cooper SD or 3dr 125d make interesting economical daily commuters. Good luck with the sales, I certainly haven't found it easy lately

The trouble with cars like these is you have to take good care of them. Even wash them now and again to stop the mould forming.

You’ve got a car from the 80s, 90s and 00s there. Quite a neat line up and a nice angle for the channel which, let’s face it, focuses on modern classics. Why not stick to that formula when considering replacements? Personally, although I’ve followed the Influenzo journey from the start, and loved the videos themselves, I’m not particularly stuck on the car. Likewise the 306 and Bentley. If you’ve reached the end of the road, move on. My suggestions (based purely on personal preference but which seems uncannily aligned with your own) would be: 70s/80s: Beta Montecarlo, Datsun 240/60/80 or even 300ZX, Citroen, Alfa Montreal 😃 80s/90s: TVR Griffith/Chimera, Alfa 164, 996 (back to the 964 days!), early Boxster. You could run a 996 daily and troubleshooting that would be great viewing! 90s/00s: Saab 900, Aston DB7/9, Audi S5, BMW 645 Can’t wait for updates!

During the years of troubleshooting, every test drive had the exciting potential of proving it worked better than before. Now that it looks and runs great every drive becomes an anxiety filled opportunity for a new problem to develop with repair costs that could wipe out the value you've added. Be proud of your achievement and let another enthusiast share the joy and pain of owning such a car.
