What might have been interesting (had it been this way back in 2005/2006) is if Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon had a protection effect that was based off the effect it had in Season 1 of the anime. The effect would be that it could prevent its destruction from battle twice while on the field (like an Xyz detaching material effect). I don't think that would have made it much more competitively viable, but it doesn't break the card and might have actually caused it to see some play

I at least found some Use out of in Yu-gi-oh Legacy of the Duelist I made a Deck out of Focusing around Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon....... I added Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon but I also added Black Luster Soldier to the Deck so I can Fuse it to make Dragon Master Knight! I liked it so I made for 2 Decks one for Kaiba and also one for Yugi although Yugi also had Dark Paladin added to his also so even though he had Both Monsters in Play Yugi is Scoring Extra Attack Strength for Dark Paladins even though the Dragons are in his Graveyard and not his Opponent!

I use mist body and equip spells to boost him to 7000 ontop I bring back blue eyes using azure or spells so that’s 4 giant blue eyes monsters on the field see the way I use ultimate is very different but he’s still easy to summon I have maiden with eyes of blue / dragon shrine / kaibaman / white stone of legend all those cards puts a blue eyes in the grave or the field so it’s easy to get him in I play against pendulums and it works just fine and I also plan to add in those alternate blue eyes and the newer age dragons

It seems people forgot about a certain spell card called megamorph which doubles your monsters attack power as long as you have less health than your opponent combine that with cyber Stein and your blue eyes ultimate now has 9000 attack

It’s worth mentioning that it already has a better counterpart in “Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.” If you control no other face-up cards, it can attack your opponent up to three times per turn by sending blue-eyes fusion monsters from your extra deck to the graveyard. It then gives protection to your blue-eyes monsters if it’s in the graveyard. By banishing it, you get to negate and destroy cards that target your blue-eyes monster. It may not be the most competitive card, but it’s far superior to the regular Ultimate Dragon.

I run a deck with both Ultimate Dragon AND Five Headed Dragon. I can easily bring out more White Dragons because i also run Cosmo Brain, White Stone of Legend and Mausoleum of White (which i often team up with Silver's Cry, Birthright or Azure Eyes Silver Dragon). Once i fusion summon Ultimate Dragon with Polymerization, i ALSO bring out 5 Headed Dragon right away with Dragon's Mirror

Back in old days Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon had only 2 uses: fusion material for Ultimate Dragon Knight which was very difficult to summon, and summon the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon. Now I can just use retains like Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon for OTK and Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon for board clearing.

I used to like using this card back then to summon from Cyber-stein, or similar cards like it, then using Mystic Wok on it. It was an old troll gain/burn deck hehe

My deck is PURE Blue-Eyes. I use Neo Blue Eyes Ultimate and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. If you use the right cards then you can get them out VERY easily and in multiples.

If you wanna play it, Cyber stein - blue eyes ultimate is the best deck in Eternal Duelist Soul. My cartridge battery died before I could 100% the game but I was on the last page of duelists and had several wins on them and I had a 100% win rate up to that point. I almost lost quite a few times but a deck with those cards and megamorph is insane. I took some pictures of my screen of my blue eyes ultimate with 10,000 attack and winning on my first battle phase with it out and buffed up.

Back when I did play yugioh, I used it; but I only played casual and didn't have enormous amounts of cash to blow on endless packs/overpriced singles. Made do with starter decks + a few handfuls of packs and some random promos (like how I got the BEUD).

I'm surprised you mentioned Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon without mentioning the prior retrain Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. I'm curious about your thoughts on THAT card.

With BEUD, Twin Burst, Neo BEUD, and the new Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon, it is absolutely criminal that there is no Blue-Eyes Fusion. Red-Eyes has one, DM has Timaes and Keeper, HERO's have like 15, and basically every deck from Ancient Gears to Shaddols, to Metalfoes, to Infernoids, to pretty much everything! Blue-Eyes is basically the mascot and definitely coolest monster in the whole game to this date. How fucking sad konami... And no, Dragon's Mirror doesn't count...it's not even searchable by Predaplants.

It is one of the strongest fusion dragon type monster in the game but to summon it is a pain in the ass that i agree such a shame tho because its a awesome looking fusion reminds me of king chidoroh the three headed lighting dragon.
