North eastern states have more tata sumo than Toyota Innova and bolero combined because of several reasons as north east is not as developed as other southern states, the infrastructure is still underdeveloped the GDP of the North east states is mainly depends upon tourism.
for tourism purposes they need to drive to the beautiful valleys of north east but financial condition of the people is not allowing them to burn their pocket.
so there comes the mighty tata sumo which serves the purposes very well, even it is cheaper than Toyota Innova and bolero because the resale value of bolero and Innova Is considerably high.
both Innova and bolera is not discontinued yet while tata sumo discontinued in 2019. this is the reason why used market is full of used tata sumo including the sumo Grande, sumo spacio, sumo spacio plus, sumo victa and the legendary tata sumo Gold.
I am still in dilemma why tata sumo was discontinued as it sold well in India, even upto 1997 tata sold 1,00,000 units of Tata sumo.
rear wheel drive, mechanical differential, macho looks of the tata sumo which tick all the right boxes even much more value for money when it completes with bolero. as tata sumo was a barebone is terms of features it was equally reliable as well.
easy to maintain, cheap repairs of tata sumo luring North eastern states customers very well.
The upgrade of Tata sumo Gold was tata harrier which was against the tata's USP of making SUVs.
this is reason why North East has more tata sumo than Toyota Innova.
I will be more than happy if tata sumo launch it's macho Tata SUV 2024 in India.
