I'm 48 and have been a very hardcore Radiohead fan since I was 21 (1996), and just a general rock and metal guy, but I also love Vampire as well as pretty much everything on Olivia's first album Sour. She's an insanely talented young woman and I can't wait to see what else she done on the upcoming album Guts. I also love Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. Who knew it was possible to love metal as well as pop *sarcasm*

Uh, not exactly. Lana del Rey got sued because of the vocal melody is also really similar, something which is not true for the Hollies‘ song.

it is the timing that bothers me. she made no attempt to individualize it. She admits that she likes to recorded new lyrics over other song melodies, which is why Taylor swift got credits on her one song. I think she did that here too. I do think its a good song too.

What are you even talking about... Radiohead's famous song is Creep, and the chord progression is the exact same on this Olivia Rodrigo song

@@MedalionDS9they mean that they ventured so far away from that ‘creep’ sound that ‘creep’ doesn’t even sound like 90% of their discography

@@El1society That doesn't matter. It's still a song in their catalogue, and people immediately think of Radiohead when they hear that chord progression...therefore it sounds like Radiohead. Radiohead fanboys think that trying to distance themselves from that song is a noble thing... it's what got them to where they are today, for better or worse.

Radiohead copied that chord progression. It goes back decades an decades. They copied off of the Hollies, the air that I breathe. And there might have even been an earlier version of it.

I'd rank Creep around #36 in Radiohead songs but still, it's the one even non fans know and is fair enough to say it's how people know them and imagine their sound to be. Which single song could sum them up better than that? Ok. Paranoid Android or Exit Music I guess. I see.

This is absolutely the same melodic vibe and lyrically the liberal use of the F word makes me think that it’s been liberally reinterpreted into Vampire. I don’t think she will get away from a lawsuit as it apparently has profited from it.
