I have one of these and I LOVE him! He's got so much personality, and he's always so exited to see me lol. He's with 4 blood parrots and one platinum parrot and it's the cutest bunch of fish ever. They all get along, just occasional little squabbles but even those are adorable lol.

I have 2 of them, they like to play with my daughter when she sticks her fingers in the tank. They definitely have personality!

I have a blue polar parrot fish last month its so small when i bought it and now its literally big and it recognizes me like when i come closer to her tank it come out of its hiding spot and wiggles but when other people come to the tank it stays hidden in its hiding spot and i just think its sweet :)

I had to put my lil male blue polar in my community freshwater 30 gal my 75 gal cichlid tank they beat on him so bad his fins wear tore off ,I found out they truly don't get that big ither idk but he seems to do fine with my corys ,loach ,two zebra danios 4 creek minnows two PARIDISE gourmis ,two Betta ,two guppies an they all get along it's crazy

it says that they can be with tetras, but theyre chasing them so ive removed my tetras. They were with my danios ive observed them and theyre not chasing my danios even if they will swim infront of them, the next morning i saw one danio floating and saw that they bit his head off poor fish.

I am super amazed at these cichlids!! I have had blood parrot cichlids for a long time. Although the last one of my parrot fish died recently and I was very sad!! I think the oldest one that I had lived for about 13 years! I love these parrot fish..they are adorable!!

So I have heard two different stories about how they came about. First story is it's a hybrid cross of a male convict and female parrot. The other story is that it's not a hybrid and simply just a deformed short convict cichlid. So which is true? I'm leaning more toward it being a hybrid.

Hi, I just picked up 4 of these today from my local fish store. The thing is I live in Vietnam and my vietnamese isnt all that good, I didnt really know what type of fish they were, and just went for them based on their looks. They are the first four fish to go into my new 75g tank along with 4 corydoras. My original intention was to move my tiger barbs and clown loaches into this tank. Do you think all these fish will get along. I'm fairly new to the hobby, but struggling a little with the names of fish and identifying them. The vietnamese names often dont translate that well, I have been researching certain fish that can go together, but this was more of an on the spot purchase, will it work ? Any advice would be welcome. Thank you .
