Exactly! My grandparents were so frugal but they had a TON of money on both sides. I remember my grandfather telling me "you want to make money while you sleep." And I guess that attitude passed down to my dad (RIP), because I remember going to his house one day and I had bought something I really liked, so I wanted to show it to him. So I said "Look at this! Isn't it cute? It was on sale...I saved 50%!" My dad replied "Well, if you're spending, you're not saving." Obviously I had no retort, and that has always stuck with me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one not sold on PLTR at its current valuation. It's run way ahead of its growth. It is not growing fast enough to justify its price.

Palantir's business model relies on having the best software, and that requires having the best people , who are not going to work for free. I remember this same valuation argument about TSLA when it was selling for around $10 (split adjusted). The future growth needed to justify that huge $10 pricetag was virtually impossible to achieve! I'll start worrying about PLTR when I see evidence that they have serious, real-world competition. That doesn't mean that some big dog (eg MSFT) is a nominal competitor, it means that someone has a product that's actually as good or better, at a similar or lower cost, and is seizing market share.

6:30 Only 10% seems a rather optimistic discount rate for the DCF. Risk-free rate is above 4% and PLTR beta is way above 2 (2.7 according to Finviz).

Down 10% is not a plunge for PLTR stock these days. If Meta can fall 20% in a day what does it matter if Pltr falls 10%?

@@trebor6v418 I understand your thinking 🤔 but often when I waited for a stock to come down to my preferred price range the stock just went up and never came back (happened to me a lot) sometimes the stock got up 2 or 3 times in value in a few months... So waiting is exactly as risky as buying at least in my experience...

thanks for the update! this is why .. it is why many people says this is expansive stock !! so it deserves to be minus 10%. all the PLTR Pumpers should say this is a long term stock .. based on my 2 month on this company nothing but negative and volatile ... not something you gonna gain $ quickly ..

Oh come on man, how is this company in stage 5? It is a growth company. It is still in the early innings, it is especially attracting new customers. That is what they are and should be focusing on.

Palantir has been around since 2003. it's a 20 year old company. Google is 25 years old and dwarfs Palantir.

hahahaha that is wrong phase sorry. How in the world do you see their total addressable market going down from here?????? Valuations are of course waaaay off and PLTR will be joining the S&P most likely this year as well.

I didn't think the quarter was that bad, I think this is classic Wall Street to over react NOT to the results but to the guidance, shake some weak hands out, so they can continue to build their positions. Down over 13% as of this comment, seems over done. I'm long and plan to never sell.

I have 25 shares of PLTR @ 22.68. I think I overpaid for this company. If it drops more, say to less than $21.50, I will double my investment.

So the biggest takeaway is Palantir’s constant stock dilution. . But was your math correct? 8% of 20% growth results in a diluted per share growth of 18.6%, right?
