Very true. I go to America and Canada to meet my children. For older people day start with cleaning utensils, cooking food, washing and cleaning home. And no social life for older people. Very costly everything. No friends,very lonely life. Children have their careers, life so they r helpless. My son in America provides us with all luxuries but very boring after some time. Love my life in my home, my country. I have my social life and love it.

Law and order in India is pathetic...So it's a trade off...Can't see one majority keeping silent on the atrocities of a so called muslim minority....Right from the govt elections to the govt policies ALL are keeping in mind tht minority or for that matter the fringe reservation groups from darkest corners of the country, which is although right for greater common good but VERY disappointing to the law abiding tax paying general categories.... So for one moment even if I ignore the lawlessness, pollution and unhygene I do not stand a future in the long run in India as we have two hounds (dogs) drooling at us from bothe east and west called Porkistan and chinki China... With our govt pussyfooting and OVERLY CONCERNED about it foreign policy to tackle the enemy within and outside the *"log kya kahenge"* syndrome will finish the diversity of India for a very long time to come....

It is very heartening to know that the craze of the west (specially US & Canada) is waning and we have a comparison where India wins on many fronts.
@LuckyBombay8 ай бұрын
Bro, 1.5 million students left India last year … if anything the craze of west is very very high .. Canada sucks a lot in the western world but goto USA and life is jhingalala… even Indian food is lot better in foreign countries … it’s just Canada that sucks … some of the best Indian food I have eaten is in Dubai … London also has great Indian restaurants… and at the end of the day the best thing abt western countries is that you are away from desigiri, cheap work politics . FYI , I myself live in USA … The only reason I visit India is to meet friends and family … by third week I start missing America and am always just so happy coming back home ( to America ) … and trust me I myself am a very Desi person but it’s just that This is just a better place … and I am not alone a lot of ppl here think like me … even people from other countries think like that
@pushpeshsuman8 ай бұрын
@@LuckyBombay I agree to all your points and US being developed for so long it has a better system in place. But the infrastructure and opportunities are not everything in the world for settling down. In India there are a lot of struggles but life is also about being with friends and family ( if it does matter) rather than only with money. Canada was equally an amazing place to live till very recently and now the narrative has changed. Almost similar situations exist in USA but the narrative has not changed yet.
@LuckyBombay8 ай бұрын
@@pushpeshsuman Canada is not a big country . Only two big metro areas where everyone wants to go . Also in the last few years., Canada gave Pr to a large number of ppl and the quality of these immigrants is not good .. they have no skill sets , have weird degrees and all of them have come thinking life will be good .. likewise these immigrants are not able to find jobs and have started dissing Canada and that’s why the narrative has gotten bad … Canada’s brainless immigration policy is to be blamed … most people who qualify for PR is Canada will not even qualify for getting an H1b visa in America … the quality of legal immigrants to America is just on another level compared to Canada … also we have a large number of illegal immigration in America … this helps is by providing cheap labor ( comparatively speaking but nowhere close to cheap labor of India ) … in Canada they hardly have immigration of labor class people … everyone wants to do a white collar job , ends up with a labor class job and then cribs … obviously, cause they gave the PR to the wrong class of people … abt having friends and family in India .. true .. but in cities atleast even they are super busy and if a person is not making good money then what will this extended family do for him ? He will be sad .. people who are doing well never leave the country … only people who have needs will leave

Views expressed by Manpreet,s mother is similar to the views of most parents who go abroad to their children even for a short time. We then value the warmth and social contacts we cherish in India, the independence we get doing our work without being dependent on the children to take us, Even the lady guest expressed many views that are so correct. I’m sorry about the negative experience of these ladies. Most young children bring their parents for housekeeping and babysitting. Once the children are in school they are on their own. Sounds like they shop at low end stores. Farmers Markets exist in all communities city wide. Specialty stores have food from all countries as do restaurants and same is with clothing! You can call a cab any time! Don’t blame Canada for lack of social life it is what you want and do! There are resources available everywhere including volunteering and making friends. 🇨🇦

Actually you should not talk like one of them who is a hypocrite.

Forget parents, even many immigrants are unhappy in Canada. Every time I run into an Indian who has studied or lived in US he is frustrated. 2 people in my team received their Canadian citizenship and have started trying for positions in US. 3 white Canadians in our company moved to US in last 2 year itself. Canada is not a great country from parents. It's cold, white and depressing throughout. Many parents can stay for relatively longer in California or Texas where there is vibrant community and weather is very much like India. I lived for 10 years of life in snow before moving to Canada - Massachusetts, North Carolina and Virginia. I just 2 winters, I feel depressed in Canada as it's white for 4 to 5 months.

Why don't parents form a social group of their age group to enjoy life. You have to find your own way for your problems.
@shobhadhingra859611 ай бұрын
Dear Poonam. We face same problem. First to active socially u have to learn driving. Very difficult to get driving license. And maintaining a car. For a small error on road there is heavy fine. Second parents go there to take care of grandchildren not to have their own social life. And it is costly living for retired people.

Life in India is the best. We can meet our friends anytime without any appointment. There's bhaichara. Fresh vegetables and fruits at every nook and corner. Lot of eateries around with authentic food.All the festivals are celebrated with lot of enthusiasm. Our markets are very colourful during the festive season. And it's such a fun to walk through the market buying even sundry items.

very good podcast 👍. The direction of conversation was very subtle and answers were very true to reality.We have faced the same same situation in last winter. Being a parents we should find out the solution,No place is more comfortable and convenient without children. It is as a human body is lifeless without a heart.

Theres a popular saying a person cant get the Best of both worlds. Make best use of where you are. Make friends with yr neighbours or stay in a community of yr own. I live in Malaysia, blessed we hv a weather where we can colourful clothes, huge variety of foods. We have our gurdwaras etc I am happy where I am Malaysia

Two amazing parents and their honest experience in Canada. I agree with all of it. I agree with Mam that Oxygen and ability to walk in clean air is the biggest advantage in Canada, if these things were equally good in Delhi, then we would never settle in Canada

@@umachauhan4217 Where we live is a world for us, ignorant mind with bleak vision , like u, would not understand this. We belong to that India ,who praises others as well , not self obsessed and arrogant of the beauty around the world.India stands for itself and for the world, don’t die of jealous, rather accept the horrible drainage system of Bangalore and work towards improving and building your nation. Now pick the broom and clean your city then come back and utter.
