A lot of things actually. Mental health help, support, vacation to get out of the city so you don't start to feel you have to avt a certain way, the ability to relax and look at the facts, the ability not to worry about life events which are also going on, a haircut, good transportation, a non-broken phone, etc. etc. etc. These are just examples That said it is true that money is limited unlike what many people feel and that money is not 'necessarily' necessary, but there is no question that it helps I think.

Ive been fighting cases since i was a teen im 26 now and ive gotten in plenty of trouble and still do, for being hard headed and for pushing limits and when i was younger i did not know how to decypher how the court talks or how the SYSTEM works so a few court hearings in and i take a deal because i thought it gets much worse so im basically putting myself in guilt because of there bribe. Ive come to realize the Court are the criminals you have to fight fire with fire they will get away with something petty you did or something with out evidence all because they bribed you and you thought well ill just take this deal because i know im wrong even if your in the wrong or its something petty and they dont have evidence keep on fighting DO NOT tell on yourself do not give your attorney all your facts either because they will end the case quick with your cash ive hired an attorney before when i was 18 for 10grand and told them the truth thinking they will give me a better outcome and i was wrong they left me in the dark, im speaking for the general public people who live paycheck to paycheck people who did do something wrong and know the court is taking advantage of them not people who have cash to burn since all they get is a slap on the wrist after the thousands they spent. Its quick cash for them they ALL know how to use the SYSTEM against you and they didnt even have to sweat for it. If your in the wrong and can possibly find away out and know that the deal they want to offer you doesnt balance out Study your case decypher the talk, use a public defender SPEAK UP do not tell them all the facts because they dont care, never not once feel guilty and take it allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to trial sometimes even not showing up to court is a form of SPEAKING UP. Your guilt or obeyance is a bug in the system and i find that you can use that same energy against them because its bribery

I have a remarkable and unique ability to read a room. I can see what’s going on and what I see first hand; the entire courtroom is not just chummy co-leagues; they are off the clock friends. Extended family and the entire shebang, as my grandfather would say. When the city attorney and the public provided defense are intimate & joined as one “union”, it jeopardizes justice. Client confidentiality has been compromised and I did collect evidence of that after creating a honeypot trap. I have a case which was captured on ring camera. The ring camera is the only evidence in the case. I was denied access to obtain it by my lawyer, as well as city. Judge actually said it would be ok.. my PD said don’t do it. :/ For over 3 months these folks continued and continued and kept on begging for more time. They asked for continuances over and over saying they need to obtain that ring camera footage. It’s simple login. The owner (subscriber and landlord who purchased it) has authorized me and them I assume. Yet nobody could do it. Then after 182 days (the maximum duration for ring!) I received a email from my PD saying it would be fine if I logged in to get video. When I logged in the video had expired. I have record of my concern about this issue every single month I sent numerous emails and I spoke about it inside the court room on the record as well. They intentionally waited out and effectively scuttled my evidence. Evidence which clearly shows they are chasing a completely false narrative and charges which have no merit in any court of law, even in Seattle. I spoke on the record again the next date and said “as a criminal defense lawyer, and the city attorney also; you both know Ring camera has a duration. You have dealt with cases involving Ring camera evidence numerous times this week already. It’s the most prevalent surveillance tool in the modern world. So I think we can take away from this fact, plus the fact that I had been aggressively pursuing this matter of evidence since day 1: as a testimony to the intentional circumvention of law exhibited by both parties involved in defending AND prosecuting my alleged crime.” As it stands now I have spent a night in jail. I have lost my job. Lost my home. I have been denied gainful employment because of these crooked corrupt and dishonest public servants. You god damned right I am out for justice. And any money I can collect for damages as well. I told my lawyer at one point; “IF the city has already seen the video, but is claiming they have not in court (as they were claiming on the record), wouldn’t that be bad news for that prosecutor?”. She’d be disbarred, he says. She seen it. And it’s not pretty. The last court date the city now claims they have a copy of the video via landlord (who I am excommunicated with since this incident was his creation in part of a larger rent-hike / manipulation scheme, another story). I don’t know what will happen. I won’t talk to him or anyone else there until case is over. The video is likely going to be dissected. They will choose some sliver to prosecute me in front of a jury. And my PD is probably mad enough at me he will let them. Welcome to Seattle. Land of bay shit crazy crooked, corruption. Broad daylight open air corruption. These people don’t even know what corruption is here. But this is certainly corruption.

My daughter hasnt been stable due to long use of drugs. She carries conversations with people in her mind. So she has had problems where it gets bad that she calls cops to come help her inly for them to just ignore her cries for help and just arrest her. Quite few times this has happened.I have desperately been trying to get them to realize she needs help not harrassment everytime they see her walking late at night.Well my point is i wanted help from them b4 it got worse and to no avail. And it got worse!! She called them once more only for them to surprise her with warrant on a Thursday and she had court Tuesday. Well she got pulled out of her fence got manhandled slammed to the ground, and kneeded on her face to where she couldn't breathe. A friends dog was in the fence and tried to defend her and they says she told the dog to get them 1 cop fired 2 shots randomly which could have hit her the dog ran away. She has been in jail for 4-5 months now gave her court appointed lawyer which never visits with her or calls me since I have general power of attorney and now she was told they enhanced 2 charges of assault to an officer and still no sign of letters for motion for discovery. Noone wants to hear or help her. what is one to do with limited resources????

Have you tried talking to or calling mental health agencies? It sounds like they should have been involved before it ever even got to this point. I genuinely believe that they should be involved in this because it doesn't sound like a criminal issue. Reforms were supposed to take care of this sort of thing but I have no idea where you're at and maybe they're just not up to speed on that. Is she on any medications? Simply providing evidence like that might go a long way.

If the prosecutor is supposed to be representing the public interest then the prosecutor in my case is NOT doing her job. How is it in the public interest to impose unlawful discrimination through wrongful arrest and malicious prosecution on members of the public who belong protected classes? How is depriving members of the public of their statutory right to access places of public accommodation without due process and without a lawful basis for such restriction in the public interest? How is turning a blind eye to the solicitation of police misconduct for the expressed purpose of coercing members of protected classes into surrendering their statutory right to reasonable accommodation and equal access to goods and services in the public interest? How is depriving a defendant from the legal protections guaranteed in state and federal law in the public interest? Yeah, the prosecutor in my case is not acting in public interest, her motives are something else.

2 years I've been almost 5 years in a case that I'm going to Appeals here in the state of Michigan been not guilty since day one there's a lot of people that are fighting for a lot of things keep asking for court appointed lawyers to help you but sometimes it gets overbearing when they don't do anything if I would have had a good paid lawyer from the beginning I probably wouldn't be in the position that I'm in it has ruined my life in a lot of ways even though I'm innocent they know I'm in the right and my constitutional rights were violated Fourth Amendment specifically I'm still fighting don't give up your hope keep faith sometimes that's all we got to hang on to when unjust has been done to us and no there is no set amount of times it could be years before you get what you want even with all the right credentials in front of you they hamper people that they know we're in the right don't admit to something that you didn't do and even if you did do it it's none of their business that's up to you and God in your lawyer and lawyer wants to know too much but you hired whether it's hired or court-appointed get rid of them because ultimately it's a conflict of interest if he explains anything that you did not want to be explained to prosecutors or anybody else that is not intended to but they do it all the time and get away with it have an open mind but also be sharp and witty can you use your head if you have any sense a one plus one equals two not 6 good luck

Patience is a good idea, but it is difficult when you have such a corrupt or incompetent system in place. Guilty until proven innocent. Held without trial for years at a time. Several states in the U.S. do not have speedy trial clauses, unless you want to sue in federal court to try and get your rights recognized, and good luck doing that while you are locked up facing other charges. Our justice system is a complete joke. The founders would have been appalled at what it has become.
