as far as the one trick pony line...from the godfather of MMA himself "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Bruce Lee

If she would've just kept doing the armbars, well eventually she still would've lost because she wasnt super great at it either, but she straight up abandoned her grappling game which was totally the wrong decision
@FIddlertheleper
@FIddlertheleper 24 күн бұрын
Yup, and we all should keep in mind that every opponent knew before hand that the armbar was her go to finish. Meaning any coach worth their salt would have their fighter religiously drilling armbar defense and escapes, and yet she still kept hitting it. If it wasn't for her arrogance and poor choice of coaches, she could have been a perennial contender in her division if not champion. Sadly, none of that helps her image or how likable she is, and she's only made that worse in the years since her losses to Holmes and Nunez.

And Rhonda‘s career proves that statement to be true, as she won almost every fight with the move that she was very good at. But it also exposes the flaw in the logic of that statement, because a man who has practised one move 10,000 times is very predictable and the easiest to beat once you have a reliable counter to that move.

The worst part about her attitude that's all "Oh without the script saying so none of these girls could actually beat me"? I'm sorry, I think I can name a couple of women who very easily could beat her. I feel like I'm cheating when I say Nia Jax and Awesome Kong could destroy her without any BJJ training, given the weight difference, but Natalya also was trained by people who respected real amateur wrestling so even she would stand a chance. And don't get me started on Charlotte, she's got a foot of reach on her and 20 pounds.

Referance Time stamp (11:45) Speaking as a combat arms veteran who served in both Bosnia and Iraq, Ronda Rousey has never been in a REAL FIGHT either. WWE and MMA are both structured. One may have a script but both have rules, boundaries, and referees. A "real fight' is choas, fear, blood and often death. Ronda Rousey may be a professional fighter but that doesn't mean she is a "REAL" warrior. I was a small cog in a very BIG machine doing what I hoped was righteous work. I am humbled everyday by the efforts and sacrifice of those I served with. REAL fighters/warriors aren't arrogant. They are just happy to have survived.

We pro wrestling fans will not argue with you that the outcome of the matches have been predetermined. We'll agree that it's pageantry, it's a big show, it's action entertainment. That's a big part of why we love it. To say it's fake is wrong, they're putting their health, their safety, their lives and their livelihoods on the line week in and week out with no safety nets, no helmets, no body padding and no second takes. If you insist it's fake, then I defy you to step into a ring and take a few bumps. See how it feels when your spine hits the pine.

There are some that actually took it to far and actually hurt the opponent and some have been killed, especially in the older days like the 70s 80s and into the 90s. Especially in the extreme wrestling circuit. They did a good job on that movie The Wrestler with Mickey Rourk. Just saying.

I personally never bought into Rousey's hype & disliked her even b4 she loss i remember in the lead up to her fight with Tate they were both coaches on TUF(the reality show for wanna be UFC fighters) & idk exactly what caused it but she was upset with 1 of Tate's assistant coaches a male & she confronted him but not in a adult lets talk it out way she came at him the way u come at some1 you wanna fight he acted respectful but she kept at trying to bully him & even threaten him that if it happened again he would have to deal with her. Which isn't fair to him because it's a lose lose situation if she goes at him & he fights back & whoops her ppl gonna say oh he hit a female plus at the time she was UFC's biggest fighter so he probably would've gotten fighter for beating up their cash cow. But if he decided not to fight back & got beat up ppl would make fun of him. In pretty much every fight she fought she wasn't humble or showed humility whether she won or loss she was a sore loser & sore winner she never touched gloves b4 or after the fight some times she would kick her opponent off after she tapped them out if they were on top of her legs. She takes most the blame for ppl turning on her & for her losses but some blame has to go to all the yes men around her. I remember mofos were hyping her up especially Dana & Joe Rogan Rogan was saying she was amazing at striking & could beat most dudes so of course it got to her head but the fact is she was trash with her striking. U could tell just by her training videos she didnt know how to throw good punches. So when I heard she was coming to wwe & even after she debuted I was vocal against her. Those that didn't know her defended her because wwe made her look like a million bucks but I knew that at the slightest sign of fans not being happy her true colors would come out & they did

I watched her mma career closely and her problem was her coach. The guy wasnt a good trainer and never gave her real training partners to push her. Was a glorified pad holder and yes man. Made her believe she could box when she couldn't and we see how it went. Ronda could have been the best female fighter had her career been handled differently. Girl just walked into the wrong gym with olympic level talent and an opportunist running it. Truth is she became a World champion and Mega star despite Edmund. That credit goes to her mother, olympic coaches and gene lebell. Everybody pre Edmund Tarverdyan.

Of course pro wrestling is fake. So are Jackie Chan movies, so is Days Of Our Lives, and the circus, and the vast majority of other media. But no one tries to discredit the entire industry of film on that basis - that's what makes wrestling fans angry about the fake comments. These are hard-working people who are incredibly talented athletes working their butts off to entertain people, and the way they do it is heavily fraught with risk and injury but they still do it 300 days a year. Go tell Jackie Chan his entire career is meaningless garbage because he never REALLY arrested the leader of the Triad and watch him slap the taste out your mouth so hard it never comes back. By the way, I was a professional mixed martial artist for years. I trained with ATT in Coconut Creek. I also threw a BBQ for my friends and family to come enjoy Wrestlemania a couple weeks back.

Ronda was a trailblazer, and kicked a lot of ass... but people caught up to her and rather than improving, she left. She then absolutely had no respect for the art and sport of wrestling and said "None of these women can beat me" when I legitimately think that every other woman in WWE and AEW with real MMA experience, and there are a few, could and would beat her. Even Sonya Deville, who didn't have a long MMA career before joining WWE. Also add any woman who had amateur wrestling experience. Or was more than ten pounds heavier than her. The one thing you shouldn't say when joining the wrestling business is "it's fake", people get injured all the time so of them died in the ring sure the storylines are scripted and they try not to hurt each other but you need to be good in the ring, convincing on the mike, develope your character and tell a convincing story to the audience which ronda wasn't good in any of these, her name was the only thing that got her to sign with WWE so to say the wrestling business is fake is like shitting on everyone that put effort to get good and fill out 100k stadiums, there were multiple MMA guys that respected the wrestling business guys like ken shamrock, DC and brock lesnar

When people are siding with Logan Paul over you, you are the problem. Not the management. Complaining about not being given 6 weeks to prepare for every single match, especially against full time active wrestlers and insinuating that Logan Paul gets that is stupid. The simple fact is that Logan Paul is a natural at wrestling and far better at it than she ever was. Also, the fact that he actually respects the industry helps.

Here's the deal, and anyone denying this, is a lame person. In the MMA, WWE or Boxing, every single fighter plays the tough role, every fighter is a smack talker over their opponent. In all 3 arenas they stage arguments and smack talk, why? For the hype, is why. It makes good TV! Rhonda's fans tuned on her because her beauty, and lets face it, fans got nothing to do but talk smack themselves. After all, we're seeing cancel culture as I type this. Is Rhonda a one trick pony with the arm bar? I thought she was, but the fact is she won her fights, and if that was the way it was done, then so be it. Wouldn't it be the opponents fault if they knew she was an expert at arm bar, and still lost the fight because they failed to defend that? In that respect Rhonda is a genius for still being able to beat her opponent even though her opponent was aware of her dangerous arm bar. Anyway, this is just my two cents opinion ;)
