What is the job market like there? All I have is a GED, can I get a job making enough to live in Lake O?

The job market in Portland? If you have a GED I would recommend learning a trade to get better pay. Rent starts around $1,100 mo for a 1bd/1ba and to buy starts around 600k for a 3/2 1960s ranch. Hope that helps!

Do you mean LO? From my experience that's an older generation thing. LO is changing with lot's of younger people moving here for the great schools and small town feel. If you haven't been here you should check it out.
