I'm going to have to start calling bs on this "sf post apocalyptic decline" narrative. SF has issues like any other major city, but it's not some post-apocalyptic no man's land. It's a beautiful walking city with unlimited things to do/points of interest. I've walked around in multiple parts of the city, morning AND evening, with my family without fearing for my life. SG has a few neighborhoods that are bad/trashy (like any major city) and the rest is just fine full of normal people.

San Francisco is one of the nicest cities I've ever been to. I feel like most of the people who hate it only hate it, because of what they hear on the news, but have never even set foot in San Francisco. Yes it's very liberal, and yes there homeless people, but so does every other big city. San Francisco has a very vibrant culture, and is very relaxing. There are people who will treat you like family there, and will become your good friend if you talk to them about anything. There's a lot to do from the food, attractions, art scene, boat rides to Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and it's next to San Jose, which is the richest and biggest tech city in the US. San Francisco is a beautiful city, and I hate the lies that are spread about it. It's the second best city in California in my opinion, (the best is definitely San Diego all the way) and deserves the love it needs.

how about the homelessness and car break ins situation? did it get better? i’m planning on moving there but i’m afrad because of it.

There's homelessness just not as much as you would think, and smash and grabs, (if that's what you are talking abt) are common in San Francisco, but there are a lot of prevention methods and if you are worried about that you could use public transportation. San Francisco is a lot better then what the news and most people say, though. (I don't live in San Francisco, just go there frequently myself) @@suna1899

Homeless isn’t the problem. It’s the theft and dismissing thefts under $1000. People go on loot sprees and cause stores to shut down. Wake up. These businesses are leaving SF and the population is only going to decline unless your stupid governor changes his policies or is replaced by someone else. There’s not one other city where I’ve seen literal human feces on almost every street.

I like SF. I find LA very snobby, and the layout of the city is too suburban despite the massive population. As long as Hollyweird keeps getting exposed and WFH/Remote work continues to boom, there’s no reason for people to live in LA.

@@The-San-Francisco-Treat no it’s not. I live and am from SF. People live from paycheck to paycheck and in serious debt. Rents and mortgages are outrageously expensive. Everyone is desiring or planning a move for Texas, Washington or Arizona, Montana or Tennessee.

It is and it isn’t. It has serious problems (homeless, drug overdose, public education) that need improved and can’t be ignored.
