You missed one of the most important points, which is Cloud Storage. Companies want to charge a subscription for the cloud storage they offer you. Earlier google photos was free for pixel users, and now even they ask subscription for it.

15 GB is free for anybody which is still decent. Google removed unlimited high quality storage in 2021. But Pixel 3A to 5 continue to get it.

Basically the reason is that if there is no SD card in mobile it gives an opportunity to the company to sell their high storage variant at high cost as SD card is not there so user want more storage

Micro SD card is a must for backing up of data and photos. At the same time it is better to store some important data either in SSD or a hard disk. Also if a mobile is lost or stolen the data in the memory card is lost permanently. So even it is doubly safe if some important data is stored in the cloud. This can easily be retrieved in a new device.

For me sd card and headphone jack is a must!most better headphones in the market Steel come with 3.5 mm connector and if you see the market properly there are a very less amount of good type c headphones and SD cards are still mandatory because it helps to remove some data from phone storage if necessary.... And it's very urgent for me! ❤️

I have 100Gb worth of lossless flac music. I want to use an SD card to store all this, and 3.5mm jack to listen to the HQ audio. Now that companies are ditching these two essential features, I don’t know which good phone I should buy. My only options are budget phones although I can spend more. What a time to live! Looks like I will have to purchase a walkman.

SD card is used by me to transfer highly important data and keep it as backup , in case the phone dies out or any software mishap. You can't trust these phones with important data. And also its difficult to hack into the memory card, it requires read and write permission. And every company , be it Google or your mobile brand, wants to know what you have stored on your phone.

removing sd card is a cash grab opportunity for companies....if your 256 gb storage is full, u need to get a new phone with 512 gb storage (hence giving company more profits), instead of just buying a sd card that should be enough for u....... galaxy note 9 has everything and is still an amazing phone....... hp jack was removed so we users can be forced to buy earbuds.

Home cloud storage is better than buying new phone. Wirelessly files can be saved. Only drawback is wifi is needed.

If 3rd party case manufacturers can make a case with multiple sd card support and headphones jack and type c port outside and inside it will be good but in budget within 1000 rs and slim not bulky it will help the phones without sd card n 3.5mm jack because dongles are already available why not integrate that inside a case protection beauty and utility

मैंने realme gt और poco f4 का फ़ोन छोड़ कर samsung s20 लिया क्योंकि 30k में micro sd card और वाटरप्रूफ फोन चाहिए था साथ ही qualcomm 8 series cpu। above25 किसी मे भी sd कॉर्ड नही मिल रहा तो samsung ही लेना पड़ा।

You missed one point I suppose. Earlier we required more storage because we used to store MP3, movies on our phones..now with subscription based online streaming platforms, we don't feel that need anymore.

The more funny thing is that almost every Phone still does supports MicroSD Cards. If you have a USB C MicroSD Card Reader, plug the Micro SD into it and then plug the Micro SD Card Reader into the Phone, the Phone accepts the Card without any Problem exactly like before. Even the function with external Storage for Pictures & Videos is still there.

companies do whatever their managment SND team suggests them to do , i think they should give 3.5mm jack and sd card , use krna na krna alag baat h par option dene mein companies ko itna hesitate krne k peeche keval planned obselence hi ek reason hota hai ya fir forcing to buy multiple gadgets ............ Agar companies ko 3.5 mm jack se dikkat h coz vo space leta hai , to fir unhe phone mein 4 cameras lagane ka space kaise milta h jisme teen cameras 99% log kabhi use nhi krne waale , ye to wahi baat h ki 5g de rhe h to us phone mein 2g bands ka kya fayda h vo to performance down karenge the actual way of working for these oem's they find ways to increase profits , take necessary steps to modify that ways , then create a pesudocause as an excuse trust me kal ko ye companies usb c ko nikal ke batayengi wireless charge krle cable ka kya kaam h

Headphone jacks removal is still acceptable it needs a transition if all brands use type c and remove headphone jack, wired earphones will come with type c only and will get affordable as well. Micro sd is a must

removing headphone jack tbh is actually good and about micro sd card its pretty useless for most too, I haven't used sd card since 2016, and my phone have 128gb internal so most people nowadays have 128gb or more but there are some people who need sd card due so they should atleast provide option to use either 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 sd card, and when why we only have sd cards no hd cards?? yeah thats a very bad joke tbh

Mere pas 128gb rom vala device hai aur usme 40-50 gb tak hi storage bhari hai, jyada se jyada 60 tak gaya hoga number par mujhe fir bhi bahut storage free milti hai Fir bhi mujhe SD card support karnevala hi device chahiye kyuki kuchh important data sd card me store karna padta hai aur agar mobile kahi dead ho gaya ya paani me gir gaya to data safe to rahega, internal memory me store kiya hua data ka koi bharosa nahi aur sd card ya pen drive me store karke kahi rakh de to uske khone ka dar ya corrupt hone ka darr bhi rahta hai isliye sd card slot to hona hi chahiye ✌️

for me most expensive things in phone is photos and if mobile phone broke in two piece still i can recover my data simply removing sd card but this nearly impossible with internal storage I'm taking about 64gb+ photo data

THE REASON THEY ARE REMOVING THE SD CARD IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO USE MOBILE FOR MUCH LONGER. AS APPS SIZE ARE INCREASING DAY BY DAY YOUR STORAGE WOULD BE LESS IN 3-4 YEAR BECAUSE OF APPS. SD card is like carrying useful storage with devices. Agar companies aisa kardein ki 2 variants bana ke dekhein ekk hi model ke ekk with SD card aur doosra without SD card aur dekhein sale kiski zyada hogi. Phir unhe consumer ki need ka sahi pata chalega price difference bhale se SD card wale ka 2-3 hazaar badha dein toh bhi SD card wala variant hi lenge log. Main 50-60k se upar ke phones ke liye bol raha hoon.

O bhai chomuram.. app data ab sd card me store nahi hota.. 🤣 Aur jo log sd card use karte hain wo jante hain ki isme rakha data slow hoga.. 99% of the people who use it.. only store personal and media files in it 😑
