Here after losing to France yesterday. In my oppinion the game really was able to show the great potential of the team, with Rafael Leão absolutely humbling any French defenders, and Pepe alongside Nuno Mendes proving to be an unpenetrable wall. It's really sad how Felix didn't deliver on the most important moment. In my oppinion it was really a let down but i was happy for the amazing exhibition our team showed.

After watching against Slovenia I can only say that Portugal and England would only take advantage on their game if they sacked the coach as Ivory Coast did in CAN and won the cup. Portugal in football according to me is a team of brilliant individual talents playing in a self destructive atmosphere. Martinez tactics are great but it's the players who need to execute the tactics on the pitch and there doesn't seem to be enough bonding between the players. 1) they move the ball slowly, often losing a chance to counter attack in the process. 2) It is difficult to break down teams when they are defending deep but defenders can play a long ball over the top to the wingers when the opposition is pressing them in their defensive third. 3) Play makers are often not looking for the run of the wingers, strikers and fairly comfortable in passing among themselves. Much like Germany, with the talent which Portugal have, they should attack relentlessly like Spain. All I would pass quickly, accurately and look for the runs of the forwards.

Maybe your analysis is right. Defensively I think you are spot on. But it's being poorly executed on the attacking side. You identified the constant interchange of players but that, to be successful, needs speed. It also needs unpredictability, not the same play over and over.

Martinez has good ideas, but looks like he is experimenting something every game.. We need to give Ronaldo the space either on the left or the right, theres no point having Bernardo as a winger to take space of Ronaldo and do nothing. Every game Ronaldo dont have space to dropback and get himself involved in the plays, he stays in the box as a Target Man and that simply doesnt work for him and for us. Theres no one that really gets the ball to the box for a 1-2 passes consistently. With ball possession we just passing it around the box with no real chances created. Vitinha for example is a good player but holds on to the ball too much for no real reason, i prefer Bruno that fails more but is way more objective! And both playing together Vitinha and Bruno doesnt work too, they take the time on the ball off each other. We should just play 532 with only one CAM. One Box to Box and one real Defensive midfielder

Very nice, the problem is Portugal has not been playing in 4-3-3 at the Euros, 2 of their matches were with 3 in the back, a completely wrong tactic, only 1 match with 4-3-3. 3 in the back is too defensive, didn't work against the Czechs and didn't work against Georgia yet Martinez doesn't seem to learn from this mistake. 3 in the back is simply too defensive. By having an extra central defender, they lose a midfielder or attacker, they lose attacking power, which is Portugal's biggest strength.
