Power creep is growing in Forge of Empires - growing quickly. Modern event buildings, like the Panda Shrine, Buccaneer's Bay, Sunhaven Manor, and the upcoming Soccer Event ones (Aegean Resorts) are really powerful. They produce tons of attack boosts, forge points, goods, fragments... you name it, they've got it! However, this causes potential issues with the game itself: at what point do buildings get so good that the game becomes too easy?
Today, we cover exactly how far power creep has come, how it may affect the game, and how it already has. We also take a look into Forge of Empires' (and therefore Innogames') finances for this quarter, and discuss how some upcoming features might be able to wrangle power creep in... before it's too late.

Some things I want to address: 1. The charts only include main event buildings, OR the best building introduced if there was no main building. So Buccaneer's Hideouts buildings, the Jester's Stage/Grilling Grove, and the new Mediterranean Memories buildings in the upcoming Soccer Event are not included here. These are much more efficient, but I wanted to keep the charts from being any more cluttered than they already are. 2. The changes to Guild Battlegrounds are looking like they might be bigger than I first thought - they most likely WILL require defense boosts of some sort - which is really awesome. 3. I'm fully supportive of spending money in FoE. And I get that some players will spend money regardless. But to me, it's a hard ask to get me to spend money on something that will simply depreciate so quickly as an event building. Old event buildings used to be worthwhile to spend on because they could last for a while (ie, House of the Wolf, Heroes Tavern, and Eagle Mountain). That's just my opinion though. Spend money as you wish. 4. Tassadar's city was built entirely using free diamonds from diamond farming. But it still illustrates how high you can get city boosts. I forgot to include this in the video.

Yes they are devaluing the time effort and money people spent on previous events and other in game features such as elephants gardens and Yggdrasil from Vikings and also devaluing Great building cause its easier and cheaper to add more op new even buildings instead. The law of diminishing returns can not be ignored even gbg becomes less useful when a GB cost million goods to level in titan. I hope gbg uses a mix of tiles where both defending and attacking armies are both needed to take it nit just attacking army. Attrition should not stop i agree. Bug dislike to building that generate more over powered event buildings. This make paying players to powerful to fast and just adds more gap to those that want to play without spending money.

The thing is, finishing the current event in the top 1% gets you the Trailside Smithy, which gives more Sunhaven Palaces, which gives more Jester's Stage/Grilling Grove, which gives FP/Att% The power creep itself becomes self-perpetuating! For example, if you win the Trailside Smithy, there's then zero incentive to go for the equivalent in the next event.

Inno needs to set up a system that rewards the whales (big spenders) with spending $$$ over time, not in large chunks like UBER pointed out. Those Silver & Gold passes serve that purpose very well, because nobody wants to just get their $$$ siphoned out on a monthly subscription without knowing exactly what they're getting each month. Yet the Events are almost at a monthly pace, and the whales can dump $ on both Diamonds to capitalize on the extremely rewarding event buildings & dump $ on the Gold passes. Now us low spending players (or free players) know we'll never the OP buildings as fast, so we just have to hope that Inno doesn't reward "punching down" in Guild Raids & GBG when those changes roll out. I'm sick of fragments, the crappy Antique Dealer options, the useless GBs, the GvG & GBG script fighting exploits & so many other issues. But I still find the fellowship in the game very rewarding.

@@JohnWick-zl5oc Yggrdasil is still one of the more efficient fp/space buildings in the game - and the new stuff that's better you don't see a lot of. *YET* But if this trend continues, it will destroy the usefulness of even GOOD previous buildings, and has ALREADY reduced some older buildings in the under .5fp/space range a LOT in interest or usability.

Totally agree with you. They are in fast growing mode to benefit and especially attract new players eager to spend fresh money and they forget that what makes a Game like this attractive is the diversity and the challenge of building your own empire in the long term, not from one day to another. Those are the players Who keep playing and the base of a Game.

So many other buildings are garbage now but I REFUSE to have 200 of the same tihng in a neat row - hell, I have the Natural History Museum taking up a huge amount of space simply cos it is one of the coolest, best-looking buildings in the game! The new buildings are so over-powered that I have lost the will to play. I played forge of empires for a few months back in 2019-2020. About two weeks ago I stumbled on a video by foelite and decided to give it another try. I was quite surprised by how easier it had becomed! Indeed, (although I have not checked with numbers,) I have the impression that power creep didn't affect only event buildings. For example, with FP rewards from the event, I managed to get to Iron age in less than one day. Moreover, I remembered that back then, my first GB (not counting delphi) was lighthouse of alexandria, and that I was quite proud of it because I had trouble getting it. But on the second day of my new world, when i opened my first chest from the event-BOOM- 10 blueprints, including 6 from Zeus, which, with some help from my guildmates enabled me to build it on the following day(and i still could have opened chests if I wanted). I was quite active so i don't know if I am average for a two weeks old playerbut I am currently in iron age with zeus level 8, a fully upgraded sunhaven palace, quite a few event buildings that give me additional attack boosts, daily forge points etc, (i actually believe i have more than what i had in 2020after a few months of playing) and hence am on my way to finish GE4 which I never managed to do on my ancient world ! When I was playing this game in 2019, I liked to plan what I will do in the long term to complete GE, advance in the tech tree and so on. As of time of writing, this game seems to have lost this charm...

Exactly this, I played 3 months in 2020. I would struggle to get GE4 half done and I wasn't producing even 50fp a day after 3 months. I started 5weeks ago again and I am in IA, doing 100+FP a day, Zeus lv10, arc lv9, CF, CdM, CoA LV4, ToR! (3 years ago I was struggling big time to get CoA prints in IA). I have hundreds of goods around many Ages. I was lucky I managed 2 Sunflower oil press during daily special, rustic vineyard(3days to vibrant)... I mean... 5 weeks in I have 120%/60% ATK, I can finish GE4 easily, getting to 28 max attrition... It made me feel good but at the same time being it too spoiled made me lose that "motivation to look forward to". Yes, new events buildings are a joke 😂😂

This was something that I saw too. I have a ton of event buildings I hadn't put in my city, because I was too busy & needed the space to age up. Now even the event buildings from a few events ago aren't worth deploying. Meaning there was no value in doing the events last year. (events are a major chunk of the game). Soon we will be tossing out GB's to add an event building. getting FP's for GB's is another chunk of the game. Kinda reduces the motivation to play GbG too. Without the need to do battles, why have attack buildings? There is no point doing settlements. So they have killed off another major chunk of the game. The ability to "buy" your way to success this month makes the months you have played in the past a waste of time. It must be tough to be in inno now, but if they aren't careful this isn't going to end well.

I agree completely here. I started playing in July of 2022 and I remember being so excited to see buildings like the Heroes Tavern release. However, after spending around $25-30 per event since the Wildlife Event, I can tell you the power creep is insane. I was in LMA in the beginning of this year, with small boosts and only about 1 million score. Now, in October, I have at least two of each event building from this year (except the Panda Shrine), and my city has absolutely blown up. I have nearly 19 million score, a 1570%/850% attacking army boost, and nearly 20,000 of each PE good. I’m camping Progressive Era to level some GB’s, and these event buildings have made that process incredibly easy, as I produce anywhere from 700-800 FP per day. Other things have helped my growth, like Hover Tanks and a Lv 80 arc, but my growth in less than a year has really shown myself and my guild mates that this power creep will eventually kill the game. It has to plateau soon, or Inno will have to release new features to make these boosts worth something. I’ve stopped spending money on the game now, of course.

In my main city I added several keymaster workshops and that will yield 2 max Tower of Conjunction buildings a year. This latest event I added the trailside smithy and that will yield 2 Sunhaven Palaces a year. I've seen this kill other games in the past.

@CrazyGamerJC-YT

Not really. The only difficulty in the Titan great building will be how obtainable titan goods are for lower age players. Right now a set is selling for between 15-25K forge points depending on the server. Top players are rolling RQs, leveling CFs/Seed Vaults/BGs to produces as much as they can. Getting the goods needed will take time but its not actually difficult if you know what you are doing. The only difficulty will be the fact lower age players will have to pay out the nose to get the stuff.

One thing that also contributes to the powercreep is not only the increasing stats for buildings, but also how many you get. In the past you just got one for free and had to spend like 10-20k diamonds for each additional building. Now you get 1-2 full buildings for free and get buildings, that produce the main building or even buff that production as well. I never had more than 2 of one event building in the past, as it was too expensive. This first changed in the Winter Event, where I got 3 on my main world and 5 on my second world to get these nutcracker guardhouses. Now my city has 38 cartographers houses and already 9 buccaneers bays. I spent like 40k diamonds that event and I get one full event building every ~20 days. In the past I would just have gotten 3-4 Bays and that's it. It is getting out of hand and I am already at a point where I don't see why I should spend that many diamonds, if the next building is going to be even better. I really hope they will slow down very soon.

@@edhahaz No, I spent around 50€. Always buy diamonds with the 200% offer and had a lot of diamonds saved up. It is just the fact that with the amount I invested I already have 9 full buildings and get a new one every 20 days when only 1 year ago I would just have gotten 3-4 event buildings. This is the whole point I made. Of course there were and always are people that spend a lot, but currently you just get way more than before.

Those event buildings that produce more event buildings are the equivalent to a new type of diamond farm. The problem for Inno is that you did one "big spend" of your $$$ and now you can just sit back and watch your OP event buildings replace every less efficient building in your city. In one year you'll have generated 18 buildings -all with the highest stats possible. You truly have lost incentive to spend further $$$.
@emberguard5009
@emberguard5009 10 ай бұрын
@@edhahaz It's surprising because if I decided to spend money today I could spend 15% of what I did back in 2017/18, and get 5 buildings now compared to the 2 buildings I would have gotten when I started playing (this is including everything we get for free during the Event). It's very cheap to buy buildings now compared to what it was, and if I were to spend that 15% expenditure today it would continue to generate new buildings to update my city. Effectively a unlimited supply of buildings. Mind you players that have been around for several years already had far less reason to keep spending as their cities were already developed, even without buildings that spawn more buildings Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on what the knock-on effects will be. A person looking to burn some money and run onto the next game will have a different outlook on what they want the game to look like compared to someone who will be staying for a much longer timeframe.

The sentinel outpost has been the most efficient / overpowered building for a few years now. I always told people that when event buildings will eventually match and even go beyond the efficiency of the sentinel outpost, it'll be the beginning of the end for the game. Fast forward a couple of years and we see buildings that are orders of magnitude better than whatever came out just a year ago. Even the harvest kit is obsolete now, which is ridiculous (1.64 atk/sq. should NOT be outright obsolete). As I've witnessed in some of the very few mobile games I've played for a few months or more, this kind of will to inflate stats usually signals that the game is reaching "terminal velocity" when it comes to stats inflation and will likely cease to exist in one to three years of time... But not before the company milks as much money from its user base before pulling the plug. Well done on killing the golden goose.
@Goremize
@Goremize 3 ай бұрын
Which is funny, as without updates this game could have lived for decades as it had done so already. But then they were like but mOnEy so they thought they could make more by just releasing event buildings that are better the the great buildings, which means you have less need of forge points in general because what do they give you if not for great buildings being the main way of improving your city? When you can just get an event building that is much better. This game was such a good game before they updated it.

I think part of the problem could be solved by slowly diverging event buildings into specialist categories. It would help if events were actually challenging in some way, instead of just a way to get players to spend hard-earned cash. Something like a military-focused cultural settlement combined with an expedition, or a battleground against an AI, where your skill at building, fighting, and negotiating is rewarded. Monetization would come with an event pass, but the main reward buildings are limited to one of several options, depending on what strategy you chose to employ during the event. Separate, smaller event buildings, or side buildings, would also need to be specialized, and would be awarded as milestones on each possible solution track. This would encourage players to specialize their main city, as reward building stats would match whatever strategy you employed to solve the event.

Definitely! I'd also like to see negative bonuses. for example, you can place a building that "provides" a negative attack boost, but gives a lot of goods. Or have a building that provides a strong attack boost, but requires a lot of population and happiness to produce that boost.
@tendracalrissian8820
@tendracalrissian8820 10 ай бұрын
@@UBERnerd14 That first idea would balance playstyles nicely, but to add to that idea, I'd like to see some buildings that provide cumulative percentage bonuses (positive and negative) for each one that your guild has. These would give a bonus to guild activities, like the Expedition and Battlegrounds, and allow guilds to do more guild-level city planning. Furthermore, main event buildings should be locked to one from each event per city. While that would, in the short term, decrease per quarter revenue, it would promote long term growth as the player base gets actual value per dollar in terms of side buildings and fragments of useful buildings from buying event passes. As an additional benefit, side buildings should mesh with the main building, giving percentage bonuses for each one surrounding your main building, but providing a balancing negative penalty to the building, city, or guild, or perhaps all three. InnoGames will, of course, never go for any of these, but we can dream, right?

If you have twenty of them, you could just produce a bunch of the main event building forever. Interesting perspective. We need to understand that at the end of the day this is a business which in order to run needs to produce. You also need new players. If we go back to years ago when we started playing, naming our cities "M this, F that" to tell others what to boost in our cities, getting the Great buildings and building them, took years. There's no one in their right mind willing to give 1-2 years on the old playing style just for a game. So what do you do as a game developer, you make buildings in event that can boost the new players to keep them engaged. Is it wrong? -> depends, if you sit and think(I've been playing this game for years and now I can totally start a new city with a new event and get up and running really fast). Change comes fast in this world and also in games. As old players we need to adapt to circumstances. Also the new players are willing to invest more than the old (old ones have diamonds farms running already and they wont invest as much). And as a FP/tile and Atk/tile, getting the gold upgrade comes with a price so getting a lot for it it's rewarding. And from event to event getting into the 1% or gold league it takes some investment, depending on where you're playing

My conclusion was that the only solution is to stop spending real money to avoid this trap, deliberately set by the developer, with no doubts. I think I commented something to that effect in my recent Titan video.

While i agree with everything you've said for players like myself that have been around for over 5 years its been clear for a long time that Inno has no desire to keep the game around. They are milking it for all its worth before it goes. Take GvG. They will not do anything to combat cheaters. I have talked specifically to mods/community managers. They know people are using bots for sieging/DAing/Fighting, but they don't care. Its not a priority to take on at full scale. Why is this a problem? Rankings. GvG while it is the least played aspect of the game (most players play on the mobile version) its still the top way of generating prestige which is how the guild ranking are calculated. So on my server one guild that is known for using bots and even gives discord classes to its players on how to use them controls 85% of the AA map and they maintain the #1 spot. Players have gotten burned out taking on this crap. The next big issue that Inno won't touch is alt accounts/Push accounts. Push accounts are easy to spot. When a player has the top spot on a GB that is donating 15K fps ABOVE the reward return on 5,6,7 levels its clear its a push account. No one just burns that kind of FPS out of generosity. On my server the same guild I was just mentioning has 10-15 of them. If you pull up their GBs its quite literally a joke. I think one of them had a total of something like 150K forge points "donated" by a single player more than they returned in rewards as that GB pushed from 150-180. Seriously 150K forge points. We documented it. A friend and guild mate of mine built a portfolio of spreadsheets on the issue and what was Inno's response? "Players can donate however much they want to another players GBs even if it looks completely out of the ordinary". In other words so long as Inno can pretend its a real player and they are just super generous it doesn't matter. That is exactly what the mods several of us have spoken with on Discord have told us. That brings up the next issue which is the TOS. Did you know the TOS has a clause in it that basically says the community managers get to "interpret the TOS as they see fit and their decisions are the final decision regarding any TOS dispute" In other words the TOS you agree to when you sign up is meaningless words. We have seen players banned for "in appropriate content" because another player in another guild messaged them talking trash and they responded in kind. The massager reported the person that responded and the responder got placed on suspension. We provided screen shots of the PMS in open tickets to the community managers showing that everything they accused the responder of was being done towards him in the first place. It didn't matter. They also informed us that screen shots cannot be used as evidence in TOS reports even though there is a spot a the top right corner for you to upload images supporting your ticket. That are are a mountain of real issues that Inno refuses to address to make the game fun. Because of this they have lost a lot of the older players. To compensate they are running power creep through the roof to entice new players to "want to be the top player" even though they can't since many of the top players are there due to cheating. I have event touched on subject like players selling accounts and forge points. Its all designed to milk as much money as they can before the game implodes. Inno is doing nothing to ensure the long term stability of the game. So again while I agree with everything you are saying until folks like you start holding Inno accountable for the issues they are sweeping under the rug that are far beyond out of control power creep its not going to matter.

Hello. I agreed with everything you said until the last item. I too have been playing more than 5 years. I follow MooingCat on youtube. Also followed Pat at FoElite. I see them talking to Inno, making videos about the problems, etc. Inno listens to none of them. Not to mention that all of Beta complains to them and gives them so many good suggestions. EG. About how to fix the GBG ranking system. Like you say, many of the big players are leaving the game. And it is because Inno refuses to address issues. So I don't know how players like UBERnerd can hold Inno to account. I think all they or any of us can do is leave the game. And as you say, Inno doesn't care. They want the fast money from newbies. One thing I also think is that Inno doesn't see that the old experienced players ARE FoE. Without us, the game will die, imo. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. FoE used to be a great game, but I am on the way out the door myself because of the recent changes as well as Inno not fixing the long standing problems.

Been playing on a world for over 1 year and approaching the 2nd and camping in Indy with OF troops while working on my plans to level up to future age eventually. Sadly I can't keep up with a player that appeared out of nowhere 3-4 months ago, bought 16+ buccannears and 24 cartographers house to go with them (but let's be honest, in 2-3 more events they will become redundant and dead space since buccanner will be outclassed in %/tile all around like it already is), 5 viceroy's, 8 sunhavens, 4 wisterias, 4 legendary lodges and 6 couple resorts. The trend continues with the current event, already having the max golden upgraded building on day 2 (lol) and with with each passing event having more and more broken event buildings I can see a few more that the same will happen, and probably replace a few since they will be outdated. In a matter of a few thousand dollars, 3-4 months, that player has double of my city stats of almost 2 years. Sure this could've and always happened in the past, or else the top rankers wouldn't be so far away from the others, but the lack of balancing this buildings just enables this kind of ridiculous spending sprees for insane progress even more, and even more notieable boosts and overall production wise. Like this player, now pretty much permanent in my neighbourhood, and with a full diamonded map to push into OF+ map and get troops, I can imagine many more appear in other servers, and even in this server I can imagine a few that did the same, just are not permanent in my neighbourhood and therefore I wouldn't rlly know. But for how long will they need to spend such a ridiculous amount of money? Probably not for long, myb after aging up to max era eventually to fill a lot more space, but the faucet will be turned off at some point, and what we will have left is a broken game with irrelevant updates, that will stop making money, and in desperation, they will probably try to power creep it even harder, because it's always like that. Once you dip you feet in power creep, you can't get out

Or players will be addicted to the next best thing and will be trapped in a loop of throwing away their hard earned money. It is kind of addictive, i must say, especially for new players who really want fp production. Also, some players flex on having multiple of these op event buildings. So much so, that some top guilds are requiring players that spend money in the game so that they can absolutely destroy gbg or gvg. The entire thing is slimey.

Most people in my guild are F2P. I pay like 2x a year. We kick butt at GBG. I earned 450 fp from it today. This week we are almost equal to the next best GVG guild. We both build a bunch of 0 attrition buildings so we basically trade free territory every 6 to 8 hours back and forth. Occasionally we get stuck with 2 or 3 of the top 5 guilds and I get like 50 to 80 fp a day. Lot of it is strategy. We do .90 and .95 threads and no swaps. Completely maximizes how fast our Giant Buildings grow in the guild. When new players have a GB in the mud we often help get their GB to level 8 to 10 in the first day. Lot of strategy still gets you top 15% F2P.

Agree 100%. Been playing for aobut 7 years now. Started a diamond city 6 months ago. That city is stupidly overpowered in EMA with 3 Sunhavens, 2 Bucaneer's and so on! The buildings are producing fragments of small buildings with attack/defence, so I have no need to do any more events or do anything in fact. The stats I have now of aobut 400% attack/def are the same as what I had after YEARS of playing in my main city. Developers don't seem to realise that making everything obsolete or too easy is the fastest way to lose players. They will keep it up though.. that is guaranteed. I have paid £20 every month for the golden upgrades and extra bits in the special reward line. The top tier building is rubbish compared to the golden ones and so you feel obligated almost! Prior to these golden upgrades I would only spend £20 a year on diamonds to pay for city squares. So, their plan is working as they must be raking in revenue. Losing players who are bored is probably meaningless to them and they are revelling in the new income stream! Oh, and yes, event buildings are SO powerful now that great buildings are deleted to make space for them. I deleted Haggia, Inno, Traz (yes!), all near level 80 to make space. Cape may even go next... I also don't feel the need to build the titan buildings. Why bother? The event buildings are half as good and look nicer, and have little extras going on to make them more fun! Last thing - the last event building - the Autumn Vineyard. Ridiculous. I now get 20 bps for the Titan buildings evey day (cos of gold upgrade and blue galaxy). What happened to being thrilled to get a set of BPs for these buildings and patiently waiting to acquire more? Now, I will have a full set of BPs for any new GB after a day! It's just dreadful. Oh well. sad that it is so imbalanced now.

Interesting video, but I don’t agree with it all. FoE has always been designed to keep progress slow and therefore balanced. Event buildings rewards improve with each era so early buildings always become redundant over time. But its not as if a player would get so many Sunhaven palaces they would instantly delete the pirates buildings. Most players would only win 1 or 2 event buildings (unless they spend money and have diamond farms) so it tasks years to progressively swap them over. And city planning is an interesting challenge in itself. Also, the buildings have a range of rewards from fp, attack, defence and goods. The value per tile graph is too simplistic in that regard. Until recently I completely discounted defence army boosts, but have quite enjoyed rebalancing for GE V. And each building gives fragments for other smaller buildings so I take account of that when selecting which version to build. With Titan, I have switched heavily to blueprint producing buildings, so Its not solely about the immediate fp and fighting rewards. And the golden upgrades are a neat way of improving earlier buildings. Titan era is clever. Although the GBs are exceptionally powerful, it is virtually impossible to build them unless you are in that era gathering the goods as players get so much benefit from keeping them instead of selling for fp. Things I would change. The cultural settlement buildings need polishing. I only keep playing Egypt because of the Flying Island. And I have removed all the secondary SC buildings. The GBG reward buildings should have unlimited upgrade options like GBs do. As a diamond farmer I am disappointed to have to spend real money instead of diamonds for the additional reward threads in events. But I play the game a lot and don’t mind sometimes being indulgent.

Perhaps a revisit to each previous era so that you have a Bronze Age town, An Iron Age town, An Early Medieval town etc? Each contributing particular era goods to later eras. I think that the main goal of inno is to hype players as much as they can before they nerf gbg and other stuff like they did with ge(they made it impossible to finish ge5 without spending 10k goods)and now they are adding tons of buildings that give 40 goods per day and legendary lodge gives goods now too. Players were furious about ge because it wasn't feasable at the time but now that we get such a good buildings, players will be more acceptable to radical changes

It was about 10k goods if you purely trade through GE5. Once you start adding buildings with decent defense stats you can get partway through GE5 by fighting, then just trade a couple thousand goods for the last GE5. The goal of being able to beat Ge5, then do it weekly, helped me become a much better player. And my Truce Tower is actually pretty useful now. When I m listening to a podcast I manually motivate Titan era buildings for Titan goods and chance for Titan blueprints.

Great video, and I couldn't agree more. While I've really been enjoying replacing all of my old event buildings with much better ones in recent months, it's also been a bit worrying seeing so much rendered obsolete virtually overnight. It feels a bit like a runaway train. That said, what I've seen from the difficulty in raising the more powerful Titan GB's, the difficulty and cost of level 5 GE, and hopefully the renewed challenges presented by changes to Battlegrounds, I think there is serious cause for optimism about this all balancing out. The company knew they had to do something to reignite fans and get people spending again, and they basically gambled on risking power creep/leap for a jolt to revenue. The initial part of the plan seems to have worked, as people have been spending again - let's just hope that all of the balance changes to things like GE, GBG, and now "guild raids" accommodates and sort of re-contextualizes that explosion in event building efficiency. The game can either evolve or die, but that's easier said than done - I like what I've seen so far, personally.

You started with a really strong point about power creep but then softened to say it might not be a problem yet. It's a problem. You can tell because top cities only have 3 or 4 different buildings in them. My biggest disagreement is on GB's power over time. Fps become so easy to acquire in the end game that you have to spend them somewhere so it's just not a problem. Arc already 180? Great, take AO and CF to 200. The attack stats are starting to matter much less except for defense and this should be the main focus of the power creep argument. Goods are now way more important for many players trying to get their SAT GB's to even level 40. The game does need actual innovation and less repetitive motions or it will continue to see players drop. What would actually incentivize new players to join?

on the other hand, as a players who plays 6 years, and Leads a Top 1 2000 days guild, I have to say, that the "new modern players" are blinded by all the other varieties of income and how you can be a effective player without focusing your entire game on attack and GBG income ... 5K+ attack? is a pure waste of space, as currently there is a attrition cap at 150 attrition, meaning if you can win a fight on 150 attrition, you can win a fight at 1000 attrition, because the difficulty of attacks doesn't increase after 150 attrition ... so, every attack % above the attack % that is needed to reach the attrition cap, is a pure waste of space, and could be used for something else, like passive goods income, or passive treasury income, or even passive FP income ...

the new titan gbs are what i think are bs and even worse with the gbg buildings you get IF you are good enough to get them. These only make strong guilds even stronger and shit on all the small guilds

It's wild that a game I have so much fun playing wouldn't be a game without people spending ungodly amounts of money on it. While I'm just free to play because I love the grind. Inno literally hates me, and everyone like me and didn't make the game for me, which hurts. Like sure make your money but can we have any passion for what was created? Is it really just sharks from the show shark tank trying to maximize profits? There are no nerds like us who actually like grinding MMO strategy games free?

I don't think they hate you. It's still very possible to be free to play. I am and always have been.

I started Foe in August last year, spent $100's. Probably the best game I've played on mobile. Ngl, my city's kinda op.

I love this game but i have to admit its pointless af Whats the point of "advancing through eras" if 95% of all the buildings of "advanced players" are event generic buildings or special buildings that dont have anything to do with the actual era they are in? Hundreds of forge points per day and millions of resources per day... for what? In orden to win the game? The game has no end wtfff. Whats the goal we are achieving from playing this game for years?? Can someone explain it pls?

....Wow, people are still playing? I had started on one of the newer servers and it died so hard it was hard to field even one guild. Then another new server started and that died even faster due to people quitting when they saw others spending/using large diamond reserves. I quit awhile ago due to dead servers as they kept making the game worse with every single update over an entire year of bad updates that made the game progressively worse to play where people who had played since launch even quit due to how bad the updates were. I Really really do not understand why/if this game is even still alive anymore. It was a better game if they didn't update it prior to 2021. It would be more worth it to play.

I can assure you that this is not a problem, InnoGames is in the process of fixing a lot of things in the game where this will be an advantage and not a disadvantage.
@UBERnerd14
@UBERnerd14 10 ай бұрын
None of this is a disadvantage. It's too much of an advantage. The game is being reduced to just farming resources and pressing buttons, without much strategy or care for how you spend your resources. We have so much in abundance that the game isn't really challenging anymore once you complete a few events

@@UBERnerd14 well, its not the power creep, that will kill the game, i know that much. The game was never a challenge, so not sure how that will change :)

I think in 2 years I have 12000% attack boost and my City Produce 6k fp daily 😂

I kinda disagree. The power creep gives newer players a chance to catch up quicker. The rise to be able to be in a top 50 guild and do hundreds to a thousand fights is far shorter than before. Theres nothing more likely to make someone quit than feeling like they arrived too late. The best GBs still do far more per square than any ebent building once you've invested enough and got there (att trinity especially) and theres nothing like traz, Blue Galaxy, Chateau Frontenac, TT and others) its still better than most event buildings. Nothing adds to guild treasury as well as the 4 GBs that do. I think theres a consensus already that settlement buildings are a chore and the reason they survive is that they are like a perpetual event. You can have min - max options, but also have something that is to the side, without time limit and still be worthwhile. Overall, the game is past its used by date, but what theyve been doing lately is rewarding to players more than before and profitable too. In the event with the Conjunction buildings i played as far as a could and when i looked at the rewards in the top lone, i figured the $14.99 was worth it. That kind of ebent turns free to play players into pay sometimes whennit is worth it. Sadly, the people that started playing in 2014 are not their target market anymore. People like me that started last year are.

Why spend 1000s of FP on a few levels of a great building when one event building gives me that attack. Sure, eventually Ill go back to leveling the trinity and others but no rush.

They need to make GBs worth more with the higher levels. Change it up.
