Tim Staples highlights several key passages in Scripture which directly refute the Protestant doctrine of salvation by faith alone and show that Jesus established the Catholic Church as the true authority of His Word.
Tim Staples is Director of Apologetics and Evangelization here at Catholic Answers, but he was not always Catholic. Tim was raised a Southern Baptist. Although he fell away from the faith of his childhood, Tim came back to faith in Christ during his late teen years through the witness of Christian televangelists. Soon after, Tim joined the Marine Corps.
During his four-year tour, he became involved in ministry with various Assemblies of God communities. Immediately after his tour of duty, Tim enrolled in Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and became a youth minister in an Assembly of God community. During his final year in the Marines, however, Tim met a Marine who really knew his faith and challenged Tim to study Catholicism from Catholic and historical sources. That encounter sparked a two-year search for the truth. Tim was determined to prove Catholicism wrong, but he ended up studying his way to the last place he thought he would ever end up: the Catholic Church!
He converted to Catholicism in 1988 and spent the following six years in formation for the priesthood, earning a degree in philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, Pennsylvania. He then studied theology on a graduate level at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, for two years. Realizing that his calling was not to the priesthood, Tim left the seminary in 1994 and has been working in Catholic apologetics and evangelization ever since.

I'm not Catholic and I believe faith without works is dead but I am not saved because of my works. I'm saved because of Christ's finished work. Is this not what protestants teach? How is this not what the bible teaches?

As a Catholic, I feel like Protestants think that Catholics believe they are saved by works ALONE. Of course not! The works don’t count if they are not rooted in faith in love. God bless anyone reading this comment.

Are you kidding? I suppose incense, holy water, Purgatory, Limbo, private confession, priests not allowed to marry, praying to saints are Biblical.

This guy is saying that Jesus is not enough, that we must earn our salvation with our works. That is wrong.

Justification by faith is correct. The fruits of good works are 'indicators' that shows that you are on the right tract, they don't save you.Jesus does.

Our works are a byproduct of the faith that God has given us. Jesus did all the work that saves us and there is nothing that can be added to it

I love to hear from people that were once protestant and converted to the catholic faith❤not that people that have always been catholic dont explain the faith well, but as someone that was raised protestant(non denom) and as someone that is learning and enjoying learning about the catholic faith it makes it relatable for me🙏 im finding i align alot with it

I grew up around protestants. when God met me and starting to transform my life I’ve been to a few churches and encourage people read all 73 books of the Bible. I belong to Christ now and I pray for unity among His church (as He does in John 17).

I'm beyond impressed. As a revert to Catholicism from Pentecostal, this has given me goosebumps. The explanation is so thorough and clear. The Catholic faith indeed is the real deal. Thanks be to God for leading me back home after years of contemplating and researching. Indeed the non-religious or secular books/encyclopedias all point out to Jesus Christ as the founder of the Catholic Church. These same references pinpoint the human founders of different denominations and the so-called non-denominational churches but not the Catholic Church. Which church should we follow then, the one founded by different men or the one founded by Jesus himself?
