Today, on this very special episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Robin Uthappa. He is a former Indian cricketer who is known for his aggressive batting style and ability to score quick runs. He has represented India in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals. Uthappa has also played for various domestic teams in India, including Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

RCB management doesn't care about winning, they only care about making money. RCB is the most money making franchise of all the IPL teams 😅

Precisely. They spend big on their talisman, take a couple of big bets and voila best marketing. A lot of people don't understand the tradeoff of franchise sports. You can choose only two of financial vs sporting vs marketing. RCB and Manchester United choose finance and marketing; MI, CSK and Madrid choose sporting and marketing; RR, Bayern Munich choose Finance and sporting.

Yes, when your management doesn't care about winning, it will reflect in your players also. I think when Virat was captain he tried his level best to keep the winning mentality alive. Now, I feel even Virat has given up.

RCB don't invest in Indian players. Thats the problem. Where is RCBs Indian batting powerhouse besides Kohli and Dravid? They let KL Rahul, Manish Pandey and Devdutt Paddikkal go. Robin won IPLs for us in KKR, but being a Karnataka boy, he should have been in RCB.

Even with the best bowling on their day batsmen will just keep going and with this impact player it's even tougher ..... I was seeing ipl classic videos on jio cinema and so many batting records like biggest sixes or biggest partnerships or highest run overs everywhere chinnaswamy is involved .... So its tough

Robin is extremely intelligent , spot on with his analysis ! Hit the nail right on its head with RCB. 1. Top Heavy 2. Dont trust players in long run 3. Dravid being 2nd highest run scorer for them shows how they've only banked on Virat as a batter 4. Let go Chahal & Harshal & so many Indian talented batsmen 5. Not using home advantage 6. Not building team to utilize home conditions 7. 20 players already used in 7 games out of 25, so whom do they trust ! A lot of things to address before the over optimistic RCB fans can expect a title coming their way soon ! 😮

He is the reason for RCB loss. He plays anchor inning in PP that too in chinnaSwamy. Whereas other team tries to finish game in PP. A ground know for sixes there he tries to score boundaries and twos. I guarantee you any batsman in rcb will perform better if he gets chance to open. If he such a great finisher why doesn't he play at 4 and finish games with dk?

Thts why he praised by world but no other players comes near to him, they all playing ipl for fun if they don't perform some other take care of responsibility. That is what mainly impacting him it doesn't let him play freely and express himself.

I thought under Mike hesson, we had moved a little forward. A decent bowling line up, in Hardhal and Hasaranga. Who were the top wicket tackers for RCB in the last 3 seasons. Come this season you sell 2 of your best bowler and you do not even try to replace them.

They trust local players ... they are backing bhuvi, nattu , samad , abhishek from many seasons now those players are paying back ... look at KKR ... they backed Rinku , Russel , Naraine , Nitish for so many seasons even when they were underperforming now those same players are paying them back with performances ... Meanwhile Delhi , Punjab and RCB these teams gives no backing ... except recently Delhi shown some backing for Prithvi , pant and patel .... now prithvi shaw is trying to pay back ... pant and akshar paying back .. it's simple you need to back your players up in their bad patch so that they can win you matches when it gets good for them ..... while last year Shahrukh khan was one of the best batsman for punjab still they released it this year ... and their only players performing shashank and ashutosh ...in which shashank is an accidental boy this is the level of distrust they have on local talents.

Rajasthan Royals showing faith in Riyan Parag, Yashasvi, Shimron, sanju and Buttler is now giving them very positive results. In bowlers they picked up Chahal, Ashwin which are best quality spinner of Indian origin apart from these now they are preparing some fast bowlers like kuldeep sain and surely Rajasthan will get good number of wickets from him as well. ❤❤

3:33 Highest scorer for RCB after VK is not Dravid, it's ABD. In fact Dravid is #7. Dravid is the highest INDIAN run scorer for RCB after VK. Maybe that's what Robin meant to say but forgot the keyword 'Indian'.

@@unnatraghav4612 totally agree. Too top heavy and not enough middle order strength as was highlighted. Sehwag made a great point tht most of the support staff and the captain are non-Indians. That can impact younger Indians who may find it hard to bond culturally with the leadership.

@@arjunjalan2007 sure, support staff being foreigners can be hard for young Indian players but I don't think that's the reason. I think the reason is RCB in general has a terrible culture irrespective of who's in the team leadership. CSK's support staff is mostly foreigners as well but the main difference is that most of them are former CSK players and all of them try to continue the culture of assurance and backing that CSK has set. RCB has never had such a culture and they try to change things too often which creates doubt and as a result of that doubt there's chaos.

My pick observation 🧐: The captains who have lead RCB has not even won a single trophy in icc tournaments and even ipl example Virat Kohli, Faf , Daniel vitori and Rahul Dravid. So first bring that captain who can bring fearless approach while playing knockout games example Kane Williamson , pat Cummins or any other like that.

Kkr had different case in 2012 and 2014 than RCB. Kkr management realised that Eden Gardens aids spinners so they made a quartet of quality spinners between 2011-2015. Shakib al hasan, Iqbal Abdullah, Sunil narine and chawla. They also had Rajat bhatia who had good cutters as medium pace bowler. I remember in 2011 and 2012 season under Gambhir's captaincy when kkr used to bowl 5-6 overs of spin in powerplay and they would squeeze opposition's run rate completely. Even scoring 40 in 6 overs against kkr was dufficult. While RCB can't do the same because chinnaswamy is graveyard for spinners as well as pacers. Rcb don't even know what their strength is hence they don't utilize home conditions properly

What Uthappa is saying is in ground reality - RCB management does not know management itself. Then why blame players. The management just wants to own a team just for luxury.

Bro look back at the seasons padikkal used to open rcb had the slowest run rate in middle overs .... Both him and Virat Used to play really slow ... Together .... They put the brakes in middle overs .... Padikkal doens't have the power game it's after faf came that the run rate went up and that aggression was seen to an extent ..... Or else it was such a snooze fest watching Virat and padikkal bat together ..... It's good padikkal was let go by RCB .... I consider parthiv Patel to be a much much better opener than padikkal .... Always used to give RCB those aggressive starts .... Hence we can see how padikkal is failing in middle order he cant bat with modern T20 strike rate

Rcb’s biggest issue is that all of their top batsmen suffer from hit or miss problem. Abd, gayle, Maxwell, Faf- all of them are either gonna score 100 or get out in zero. There’s nothing in between. In 2008, Deccan chargers had the same problem. Afridi, Gilchrist, symonds- all the big hitters were there. But they were also hit/ miss batsmen. There’s no mentality for partnership or taking a inning deep. Also I wanna say most RCB players and coaches played for themselves. I have to point out Kohli’s selfishness. He couldn’t deliver as a captain for multiple seasons. Yet he didn’t resign or step Down. Same with Sanjay banger I remember Dinesh Kartik stepped down as the KKR captain after one bad season. That’s what accountability looks like. I wish Kohli had the same guts. RCB wanted him as the poster boy for marketing purpose

Why? They are a franchise built on marketing. They can't win with Srini mama's politics, Ambanis influence and SRKs free fanbase. All of the reasons are true but nobody address the Elephent in the room which is Kohli not being aggressive in power play. You got to make use of first 6 overs, that changes the entire momentum. No doubt he is a great player, but he shouldn’t do anchor role as an opener instead give a chance to youngsters and tell them to go hard. In big tournament if player like kohli comes in top means you need similar player at no. 5 or no. 6 position else it will build lot of pressure psychologically on team if kohli scores little lesser strike rate or gets out for low score. And team will score run but will be always 15-20 runs short. That's the difference dhoni does for CSK. And RCB definitely need serious experienced bowling leader who can guide during match and lead from front like zaheer khan, bumrah, shami, pat Cummins.

Having faith is one thing and also creating a team atmosphere and identifying roles for players is important- anyone who is discarded by other teams becomes a rockstar when they play for CSK. Another example is SKY becoming a different payer once he moved to MI. RR have done a super job by retaining young talent like Jaiswal and Parag. Also the team that gets involved in auctions need to be changed in Punjab, RCB & DC. They lose the tournament on the auction table.

RCB let go of players because they had world's best players for them, so why would anyone let go off a kohli , gayle , ABD and retain others... Even chahal was leaking lot of runs at that ground. Yes he did pick up the wickets, but didn't make any significant impact again because of the ground... so they reatined siraj, who was beoming a premiere bowler for india then.. also it was top heavy because, back then it was all about sening the best players to play maximum balls, later they held back ABD. It did work for some games where he would finish off, but when the run rate become almost impossible it just needed one good over to take away the game from you... This robin guy was given enough chances but failed mostly, went out to other teams and started performing.... I think they did pretty decently over the years, only this year they have been doing blunders starting from auction to captainship and batting order.. its a uphill challenge for anybody to make RCB a fortress..

Kumble RCB team is x times scarier because he has built it with Indian core uthappa,vinay,manish pandey they almost qualified for all knock out by bull dozing teams ...vinay or uthappa should have been captained after kumble,, virat just killed RCB far too long ,even after captaining 7 or 8 years he hardly built any core ,infact not a single batsman ! He just cushioned himself around gayle and abd to ride on their back ...80 % of kohli runs are unimpactful runs...infact he himself retain himself, fix his batting position as per his form ...just to accommodate him in top order Faf is losing balance

@@chayan5471for first 10 overs he strikes at only 110 only and team's score is really low where other teams are making the most in powerplay. He then hits some boundaries after getting set for a long time then shows an overall better strike rate. When you are scoring century strike rate should be nearly 200. His style of batting should be done on slower wickets and not on flat batting wickets.
