Wish they kept the dragon hybrid babies in the shows. Yes, it wouldn't have added much, but it would have been cool examples of the dragon magic in their blood.

New Stupid Theory Incoming: Maybe greyscale was a leftover manmade virus from when the sorcerers created dragons and put the blood of the dragon in the valyrian bloodline. They did it through a virus that mutates your RNA to add dragon genes. The Doom probably destroyed their labs and freed the virus, which is why there are said to be monsters there. Maybe when ships pass through the Doom, they sometimes pick up the virus and spread it to other countries, and that's why everyone comes and dumps all the infected people there--it's where it originated. So maybe the stone men ARE pretty much like Targaryen dragon hybrid stillborn that survived. It's just that it was done properly by sorcerers for the Targ bloodline, even though it still seems to mess up every now and then when they inbreed too much. When normal people catch the virus, it turns them into stone men and kills them.

I do like theory that the reason why valyrian dragonlords could control dragons, why their 'king's blood' was so valuable (varys was likely a blackfyre, who was bought specifically by a sorcerer who sacrificed his blood to a ritual that seems to have been successful), and these malformed dragon babies, is that they were part dragon themselves. They probably had some sort of the dragon genetics in them, valyrian dragonlords claiming 'we are blood of the dragon' in quite the literal sense. As for how these valyrians came into being, is completely unknown. My bet is on geotd, them being technologically advanced and creating dragons from fire wyrms and wyverns, they could also have been behind whatever the hell was going on with the valyrians. This is just my theory

it's the most common and most believed theory i know so far, i also think that the reason could be some sort of blood ritual/contract with a dragon, maybe the first dragon to have ever been ridden, breeded and "domesticated" was bound by blood to his rider and since then both the descendants of the rider as well as the dragon have been effected by this another reason could be cruel experiments, in one mythology (i can't remember which) there was a story about a king who wanted his sons to be stronger than any men and so mixed their blood withthe blood of many beasts, maybe something similar happened and someone tried to strengthen their bloodline by experimenting with his own children then of course there is magic, maybe a strong magician or some sort of deity used magic to make the bloodline of the valyrian fire resistant and overall stronger and either this caused the dragons to respect them more or the same magician/deity also used their knowledge/magic to tame dragon, this could be combined with the other 2 theories

You can definitely interpret it that way. Strictly speaking, there could be a completely natural explanation for this: sometimes babies are born with disabilities and who aren't viable (also due to a lack of medical knowledge).

They somehow used dragon's blood in some kind of ritual, maybe breeding ritual or possibly even something that resembles more like a real life science mixed with dark magicy stuff. The actual breeding with a dragon does not sound possible, I mean how large even are dragons when they're mature enough to breed? Humans (usually at least) die when "having sex" (ugh) with a horse, dragons must be bigger by the time they're able to breed. Though don't remember if we have ever been told this little dragon fact so for all I know dragons are able to breed very early on.

Important to note that Fire & Blood is not a normal ASOIF book and is written from the perspective of a Measter and a lot of the information is unreliable compared to how it is portrayed on the show. For instance Vhagar eating a certain character is seen as an act of malice in the book, but in the show it's pretty clear that it was a freak accident caused by an uncontrollable, very old dragon

The Books and the Show are two different canons, as confirmed by George R.R. Martin himself. Aemond killing Luke above Storms End intentionally is book canon but not show canon. Aegon having a Dragon Dream about the Long Night is show canon but not book canon.

George immediately said there was a “rumor” aka George was saying Aegon had the dream while doing press for the release of F&B. I am unsure if yes with some thing he thought of too late to include or if he was just fully unable to put it in the book because it is from the masters point of view & from historical documents. But yes I do fully trust in Condal, but I have been concerned about the series making too many incidents coincidental/accidents versus deliberate acts of war. Making the mains more likable was one of the early downfalls of Thrones.

Rhaenyra is literally putting her claim before the wellbeing of her child. I have had 3 children myself, and I did not have easy labors. You know what I didn’t do? My sister was in labor for a week.. and what’s worse is that the hospital wouldn’t admit her or have her deliver earlier. She pretty much was stuck at home for a week with terrible contractions before being allowed to be admitted to a hospital and deliver.

Let’s remember that Fire & Blood was written by Green Maesters that HATED Rhaenyra and smeared her at every chance. What we saw in the show is more likely the unbiased truth of what happened to Rhaenyra & Visenya. Rhaenyra loved that baby girl so dearly - she never would have called her a monster IMO.

The weird thing about being “book accurate” when it comes to house of the dragon is that the story isn’t being told by an objective author-it comes from two sources reporting on the events, and they both have their biases for and against the different families involved

Nah, book R is more like Stannis imo. The true heir to the Iron Throne who had it ripped away. Then their fight to get what was due them led to the deaths of thousands and, in the case of R and probably next book Stannis, themselves.

Side note but I wish they kept Viserys’ gemstone crown from the books. The juxtaposition of a colorful crown on the head of someone who becomes a tyrant rejected by the Iron Throne versus the crown last worn by Maegor the Cruel being worn by a kid who’d much rather be partying was actually quite cool.

Targaryen women have dragonbabies as a result of the bloodmagic used on them in the past to give them the ability to ride dragons. Though there is a theory that Daemon could be involved. When he sang to Vermithor the text was if I remember correctly talking about a blood sacrifice. It's only a fan theory though.

Rhaenyra was neither the first nor the last Targaryen to give birth to a deformed baby. This also happened to King Maegor's wife, as well as Daenerys Targaryen. Both women were previously cursed by a witch. In the case of Rhaenyra, I have the theory that she either cursed her unborn child herself, or, since Targaryens carry "the blood of the dragon," this kind of miscarriage can indeed occur within this bloodline.

In the books, both sides are awful people with no real positive traits to support them, but still complex and multi faced that you enjoy reading it. But the show makes the black side to be absolutely angelic, erasing all their bad deeds, and making them be absolute angels who could do no wrong. Rhaenyra who was spoiled, selfish and presumptuous was turned into lovely woman who's just trying to do what is right, they removed the scenes of her having the Velaryons brutalised for not wanting a bastard to inherit their seat, or all her other crimes. I'm guessing they'll also erase her involvement in blood and cheese to maintain her fairy image, as well as her part of being an incompetent monarch and turning her own men against her with the example of nettles. The greens, had all their great points erased, made aegon a r-ist, alicent a sloppy mess instead of the ambitious and cut throat woman that she was, the whole gross foot fetish, and criston cole, one of the finest warriors in the seven into a bitter simp. Otto was shown as having no redeeming traits even though he actually was a good hand who handled matters well. This whole turning the story into black and white instead of the grey mass that it was is what makes the show so inferior to the canon storyline

Last week my labour from 1 cm to 10 took 4 and a half hours. She came so fast I went into shock and blacket out woke up screaming and pushed her out while I was grabbing anything I could as I had been tipped to get the baby out as I woke up I thought I was falling. Turns out I grabbed my husbands hair and pushed her out while still holding my husbands hair and my eyes where closed the whole time. Ince she was out I rolled on my side and just stayed there for an hour. If that had been 3 days I couldn't imagine that pain tiredness. I feel so bad for pulling his hair btw.

Jaeherys and Alysanne fought bitterly over the succession, and whether a girl could take the throne or not, alysanne had the right of it and jaeherys made the biggest mistake in his glorious reign, and as a lion asked the opinion of the sheep
