Tbh I’d like to see goal conversion rates to classify the most clinical striker. Goals per game ratios can be misleading because you could be like Ronaldo and take like 10 shots per game and obviously score a lot due to the increased number of attempts but then if you’re only scoring one or two of them are you really that clinical?

People don’t understand that goal per game ratio decreases when you play a lot of games, it’s hard for players to keep scoring. Where’s as in a tournament the more games you’ve played is indicative of your success in the tournament

What has to be calculated is the the goal/game ratio also starting from every ko round. Means what is the gg ration after the group stage, after quarte final, after semi final and for the finals themself. Add a factor value for every round, because the further you come in a CL season, it is more difficult to score. And then sum all ratios for a player up and calculate the "real" gg ratio for CL players. Otherwise it doesn't show that for example R. Lewandowski nearly never scores after quarter final

Ronaldo would go down in that state pretty hard. Because in his prime, Cristiano would always have like five or six shots on target per game and only a fraction of it would go in. He also used to have a phase where he would shoot everytime he's inside the box, regardless of anything.

Funny thing is he still has better ratios than the ones broke his records(example messi got 91 goals in 2012 broke Müller's record but Müller had 1.41 goals per game while Messi had 1.31 Brazilian Ronaldo had to play 19 games to break Müller's record while Müller played 6 games less

I would say being a clinical striker isn’t a goals to game ratio but rather goals to attempts on goal. I’m genuinely curious what the results would be then. Love to see Haaland on top though

Ronaldo in his prime prime was a winger after 2013/14 season Ronaldo changed his position and became Striker. If Ronaldo would be a Striker or Central Forward or False 9 (like messi) in His prime years(2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) than He would definatly score 100+ in a single Calender year😄😄. You can imagine to know this Record of Ronaldo:--He Scored 60 or 60+ goals for 4 Consicutive Calender year as a Winger(not as a Central Forward like messi who has a recored of 91 goals in single calender year but as a Central Forward playing position)
