I love when old theories appear in my recommendations on KZfaq. Good times. It's bitter sweet now that it's over.

Pink Diamond being good is pretty much confirmed. Look at the gems that were under her. Aside from Jasper, who is most likely how she was because of Pink Diamond shattering and Yellow Diamond manipulating her, all of gems who were under Pink Diamond like Rose and like the Amethysts and the Jaspers(plus the Carnelian), all those gems are very kind, loving, and laid back. They even joke around and help out the humans in the Zoo and are a shoulder for them to cry on when they're feeling sad. Hell Pink Diamond may have even taken in the defective gems that no other Diamond would accept. Of course, this would also mean that the other Diamonds may have scolded her for this despite loving her. White Diamond may have saw her more of a liability than an asset to their empire.

the narrative was so beautiful , I almost cried . I agree with this theory , maybe it's the twist we are all expecting to happen

This is definitely a very interesting take on it. I have seen theories in the past about how Pink Diamond let herself be shattered for the good of the Earth, but I was always skeptical to it back then. Now, with the new information that we have, I am more inclined to believe it. Not going to say 'it must be the case!', but it's certainly more plausible now than in the past.

This is such a good theory. I can't wait for the rest of the story to unfold and fall into place.

I believe Pink's shards are in the chest in Lion's mane. Rose was heartbroken about shattering Pink, and she locked away the shards in a bubble, then placed the bubble into the chest, she wanted to ensure her shards would always be safe. And without realizing what would happen, the shards effected Lion, and made him pink. She realized what had occurred, and she decided to have this pink Lion that protects Pink Diamond, protect her comrad Bismuth as well. And when she realized she was going to have a son, she encouraged Lion to protect him as well

YES YES YES! Finally, someone's going to talk about Rose! She's my favorite character and I'm always excited to learn more about her complex emotions and actions, specially in the case of Pink Diamond. Thanks Slice, I was starting to think everybody just started hating her.

In all honesty, this makes absolute sense. Pink Diamond being kind and valuing all life... It would explain why she kept humans and gave them a utopia, why Rose was as she was, and why Jasper was so distraught over the loss. The Jasper part especially, which you seem to forget about. It wasn't just about losing a diamond, but about losing a mother-figure almost, to which is how I think PD was probably like to every being and gem (save for other diamonds) she came to know.

I don't really see her as a murder. Just another leader who had to make an impossible choice. That's just how I see it.

pink diamond saying she took trophies from her conquests is a facade. she clearly took the people she became attached to like rose is with Greg. only Rose actually figured out where babies come from like she said when they babysat sour cream. she said it took me forever to realize that these are you. which is why she decided to create Steven. if pink diamond had known that you could go about doing this she would have I'm sure. maybe Rose told her that it could happen in they had an argument about it and that's why Diamond had to be shattered

This hits different after the end of the series. It's different but still a good story.

But how did Rose actually shatter Pink without the Breaking Point? The breaking point wasn't given yet to Rose. Remember, Bismuth said that Rose's sword cannot shatter. Let's include chemistry and physics here, how can you break a diamond? That's right, only another diamond, but you can't accuse either Blue or Yellow, cause they were in the trial with Steven, so it could only mean that White shattered Pink, the only question is why?

I've always felt like Pink Diamond made Rose shatter her. I'll probably be wrong but it makes sense from the hints I've gotten. No other Diamond seems to have so many "individual" gems. It seems like Rose Quartz AND Amethyst (and maybe Jaspers to some small extent if our own Jasper is any indication) are prone to following their own emotions and motivations rather than blindly following a leader. Even Jasper dropped her mission to Earth when she spotted Steven. Just sayin!

What if Pink eventually decided she wanted to save and protect Earth because she learned to love its creatures but the other diamonds wouldn't let her stop the war because it would show weakness in the diamonds? Obviously White is the most important diamond because shes at the top of the diamond logo (and ya know white diamonds are most important). So what if Pink decided that to save Earth she needed to shatter White? According to the Mohs scale of hardness, nothing can shatter a diamond but a diamond, especially not a quarts. So I think Pink could have decimated her physical form and sacrificed herself for Rose to use her gem as a weapon to shatter white. But something went wrong, Pink was shattered, and White was left cracked (that's why we've never seen her). There's even a mural of it happening in an episode! (look up 'pyramid temple mural steven universe' to see it) The mural clearly shows a giant Rose Quarts using a large pink gem as a weapon against White Diamond. the end.

This video brought up some good points. I don't believe that Pink was GOOD to be exact, not completely. No one is. This got me thinking, however.

If true, I wonder though whether Pearl and Garnet at least have an idea that Pink martyred herself. It would explain why Pearl gets so shaken whenever it is brought up and put a very interesting spin on Garnet's speech at the end of "Bubbled". But it makes more sense your way... that it is just a secret between Rose and Pink. Either way, a great theory that nicely takes into account what we know so far. It would be the cruellest irony for Rose to have started a rebellion to free gems -- yet utterly failed to save the one who needed saving as much as anyone.

I HAVE AN AMAZING AND TREMENDOUS THEORY! ROSE NEVER SHATTERED PINK DIAMOND! From the recent episode the trial, the gem representing steven made a good point and how one of the diamonds shattered pink diamond. it was obvious that yellow diamond shattered her and I have a reason that makes sense. So one of your videos showed how the mural of Pink diamond came from the earth so to say. it would make sense that pink diamond loved the earth and didn't want to colonize it because she came from the earth. yellow diamond didn't like the earth at all and hated how she wanted to keep it how it was. thus being yellow diamonds reasoning for shattering her. and it would be possible that rose quarts, Stevens mom, was standing there and saw everything that happened. she probably saw her shatter pink diamond and the other gems that were close to her and rose saw it all. but instead of fighting her she fled and told a lie and framed her! rose, being the gem that she is, either let her say that about her and defended the earth in pink diamonds honor or the crystal gems, such as garnet and pearl, already knew and never said anything. I blew my own mind!

I'd been thinking about this for a while now, even before I started watching theory videos. Honestly, the way we'd heard about Pink Diamond, it was kind of obvious that she was kind and caring which is probably where Rose got it from as one of her high-ranked pink gems - as she was made for Pink Diamond, her characteristics would and should be the same. The only reason I could think of for Rose shattering her was by Pink Diamond's request. Someone finally said it! *EDIT:* Someone said that Pink knew about the other diamond's mannerisms and that they would be happy to destroy anything to do with her death however, as we believe Pink to be the youngest, it's very likely that, at the time, she was a brand new diamond and therefore hadn't gotten to know them as well as she thought. They all loved Pink but maybe, if she hadn't been around long, perhaps they'd kept things hidden until she was more suited to know and had "ownership" of more than one planet.

What i think is a really small thing ive noticed that is a actually really cool is Rose's natural shadow over her eyes. Shadows over eyes are always known as a symbol for evil and death. So the fact that they added that little detail in all of her shots is amazing. Think about it. Her bangs are only on one side, there's no way it could cast a perfect mask like shadow over her face all the time. The shadow was intentionally put there. So i kinda hope they add the same thing to Pink Diamond when there are flashbacks of her...

i agree with this theory. rose quartz' qualities are to open the heart/heart chakra which is a gateway to true emotions, so it would make sense to think of Pink Diamond as emotional, she did have only one planet in her possession after all where as blue and yellow had way more. which could also contribute to her being the youngest diamond. i hope that made sense.

I agree that she was probably the youngest as white diamond is probably the oldest, who didn't like or tolerate how soft she was I assume, so she killed her, herself. Not Rose Quartz, who was probably forced to take the blame or something 🤔

I'm surprised no one seems to be mentioning how suspicious the Pearls looked during the trial. Especially when you see the gem defending Steven asks "How/who could get close enough to a Diamond without raising alarms". Now although it does seem the Diamonds were involved somehow, I think so were the Pearls. So the theory / scenario that I have is this: White Diamond orders Yellow to get rid off Pink (for whatever reason). Yellow, somehow deciding that she herself can't shatter Pink perhaps because it would undermine the foundation of the Diamond authority , enlists help from a gem serving under Pink Diamond: A Pink Pearl. The Pink Pearl in question would make sense due colours and shape-shifting because she would still be pink and she could get close to a Diamond. Pink Pearl changes her form to Rose Quartz and presumably shatter her. Unfortunately, this scenario has a glaring flaw and a question: How did Pink Pearl get Rose's Sword?

In the episode "The Trial" it is revealed she was shattered with a sword. Bismuth created her sword to take out the physical form quickly, but made it unable to shatter.

Actually yellow diamond or blue diamond shattered pink diamond because pink diamond would have a Perl with her at all times so she would have obviously Perl would fight her off, or she would have Safire with her that could see what would happen in the future. So pink diamond had to be around someone that could get in touch with her, like yellow diamond or blue. Because rose doesn’t want to shatter anyone, and yellow diamond wants to destroy the earth and gems on earth. But blue wants the human garden still there and active, so yellow diamond has to be the one to shatter pink diamond.

I think that the chances of either Yellow Diamond or Rose having shattered her are minimal but I want to know what you think about this, the chances of White being the culprit and about what Zircon said in the trial.

Listening to this one year later, after the reveal of Pink Diamond being Rose Quartz, I realize how close to the truth he came. Pink Diamond, and therefore Rose Quartz, is a tragic figure. Not really a villain, but a good being who was forced to make bad decisions.

i have a decent theory, i'm not sure if anyone else has said it or not, but what if pink diamond is in the chest locked up in lions mane, when all of the events in the trial episode happened, and when Stevens per say lawyer said that she could not bring herself to do it, then she must have locked her away
