Thousands of Samsung workers in South Korea have gone on strike after months-long negotiations stalled. It’s a rare show of collective action at the world’s largest memory chip maker, which resisted its employees unionising for almost 50 years. Vladimir Tikhonov, Professor of Korean Studies at the University of Oslo tells The World’s Beverley O’Connor why it’s a “landmark” moment in South Korea.
