Great example of how we can learn from the Mishnah/Talmud Matthew 5:31 and Deuteronomy 24:1 Yeshua is quoting the Mishnaic discussion and sides with Bet Shammai on this. Appreciate your thoughtful work!

I only read it for historical context. It at times misinterprets the word. For example, It says about being led through the wilderness, "one can infer from this that it takes 40 years to know his maker". The opposite of what scripture says. Hebrews 3:7-11 and Psalm 95:10. So how can someone teach for centuries the opposite of what Torah just finished saying?

your argument is moot, because you claim that the Talmud teaches things that are opposite to scripture (scripture being the Torah),, BUT you yourself use a non scriptural book which is itself contrary to scripture to make your point. That is your using the book of Hebrews (which is not scripture and just a writing of non inspired man, and teaches things that are against Torah/scripture itself). So how can you blame Talmud for doing the very thing you yourself are doing in making your argument? .. I'm venturing to guess that you don't fully grasp that portion of Talmud and the teaching it is deriving from using Torah as it's springboard, nor how the sages go about teaching Torah (ie their methodology). Surely they are NOT going to be in line with the new testament, and especially not in line with Paul who is a Torah Apostate/heretic

@@Natsar-Torahbingo. Calling Paul's letters "scripture " when it contradicts Torah then has the audacity to make such claims against the Sages who has a better grasp on biblical language then OP ever could 😂

As in, what Yeshua said, every jot and tittle. I agree with your conclusion about divorce. Never heard it expounded so well though.

Basically you say we should consume the leaven of the Pharisees instead of staying away from it? Dubious.

you clearly don't know what the leaven of the Pharisee's is that Yeshua is speaking about . . For Yeshua says clearly the "Pharisee's sit in Moses seat, therefore do EVEREYTHING they tell you to do" . the 'leaven' is about a specific teaching that undermines Moses specifically. If it is in line with Torah, then surely it is not leaven.. for example, Paul, he would be 'leaven' being he taught as a Torah apostate. so too did some of the Pharisee's. but as they 'sit in Moses' seat, that is teach in accordance with Torah, then do exactly as they say

@@Natsar-Torah You are clearly not familiar with Shem Tob's Hebrew Gospel of Matthew. It is not THEY, it has always been HE, that is Moses: do everything what he (Moses) tells you. Think. Always think.

@@nazorean 'read. always read.' ,, my comment by implication showed that the pharisees were only in Moses' 'seat' in so far as they taught exactly in line with the Law of Moses. My statement thus implied 'he' ie, Moses. . pharisees represented moses when they taught only Moses and did not add leaven . my statement, when read, means the same thing (do everything 'moses' tells you).

Would it required to learn Hebrew fluently before studying the Mishnaic writings? If not what would be the best publisher to purchase an English/interlinear translation? Thanks

WE SHOULDN'T. except to see its faults which are many. The BABYLONIAN TALMUD is the work of men, who did not know nor accept Christ. They wrote hateful things about Christ. Why would ANY CHRISTIAN adhere to it?
@DH-ds8eg
@DH-ds8eg 3 ай бұрын
Respectfully, I offer some words. First of all, the rabbi here didn't say a believer in Christ should adhere to it, as you insinuate that he said this in the video. And "they" are not everybody in the Talmud. In fact, while very much is written about the Messiah, very little is written about Jesus in the Talmud, and there is even debate about whether Jesus is mentioned in the Talmud at all, as the Hebrew/Aramaic name of Jesus was not actually unique to Jesus, and the name was rather common, since it's actually just the Hebrew/Aramaic equivalent of "Joshua". Secondly, it is on each of us to know our own faith, and if someone challenges you on your faith, and you WILL be challenged, then it is on you to rise to the challenge. Paul's ministry was all about challenging and facing the challenges posed by people who neither knew nor accepted Christ, and through the ministry, many came to believe Christ. And Paul certainly knew the arguments of not only Pharisaic Judaism, but other sects of Judaism as well as Greek philosophy (Paul quotes Greek philosophy at times to make his point), for the sake of preaching the Gospel. Surely you would consider studying the arguments of the opposing side as mandatory for preparing for a debate, as Paul did in his defense of the faith, not only to learn the faults of the opposing arguments but to even better learn one's arguments for one's one faith. Thirdly, the Babylonian Talmud is indeed the work of men, and so are all the Christian commentaries that inform you of your knowledge of the Bible. They are ALSO works of men. In fact, many commentaries have gotten things wrong despite being written by people who have accepted Christ. Truth is not owned by any man but God alone, which gives Jesus the right to agree with a Pharisee, on the subject discussed in the video. The Good Samaritan embodied the principle of Love better than those who claimed to know God the right way, and Jesus has the right to uphold the act of the Good Samaritan, even if it was a parable. If indeed Jesus commands us to reach all nations with the Good News, if indeed Jesus said that His followers will be persecuted, then it goes without saying that being challenged on an intellectual level is also a given, as Jesus Himself often faced, as recorded in the Gospels. Jesus corresponded with Pharisees, Essenes (John the Immerser and his followers), and also blatant apostates of the faith like the Sadducees and also Samaritans, all the while knowing what their questions, arguments, and motives were. Surely it is a good thing that any Christian adheres to the ways of Jesus, to the ways of Paul in following Jesus, since this is precisely what is written in the New Testament and the label "Christian" would naturally indicate following Christ as a description of a Christian.
