I am hearing this Gentleman for the first time. With due respect to him and with my little knowledge I would like to contradict on few concepts shared by him. I don't agree on his large cap share theory and selling stocks periodically. I think he is a short term player whereas I am trying to develop a mindset to hold stocks for 10-15 years if not for life long like Sir Warren Buffett.

Depends on your mindset.. some do profit booking regularly.. they aim for consistent 20-30% returns.. And try to sell stock as soon as it looks overvalued.. It is bit tedious but that could give that extra return.. and over along period it can make a huge difference.. it could be as big as doubling the money..

It is infact the right policy.It is about growing your money because it is not a profit until you book it.

His policy might be correct and such method followed by FPI, FII who periodically book profits and reinvest when market bottoms & this way their fund value grows exponentially. Loooongterm might be good for fund manager to get consistent income. Moreover if such periodic profits booking & reinvestment doesn't happen then stock values & sensex value get stuck & doesn't grow to recent levels upto 62000. It's buy & sell adda but not buy & sit endlessly for lóooooong term for most of stocks.

Never listened such a long interview but i have heard shankar sir 2-3 times earlier too, so i saw this interview. Such a fantstic approach and clear vision he has. Great insight in investing. Takeaways- For small investors, who can invest 10k a month MF is better because its likely to more than 3/5 lesser return than Stock but will not give you stress of monitoring When there is a slump first get out of junk stocks. Always keep stop loss, ideally at 25-40% loss. Keep booking profits., periodically. Watch out any stocks for 2 quarter results , with a horizon for a year. If there is no progress switch.

Good experience. It is correct that in Mandi we should sell the junk stokes and buy gem stokes. I did precisely the same thing. I have thrown many junk stokes in this mandi and reinvested in the gem stokes I already have. Thanks to Groww for this good session.

Buy & Forget mat karo ekdam sahi kaha Sir ne. I sold companies like Manappuram Finance & few others when I felt ke boss nahi thik lag raha inka business prospect aage. And in many of those I was right.
