The green dot immediately next to the battery icon indicates that an app is actively using your microphone or camera. When an app has access to the camera and microphone, regardless of whether it is operating in the foreground or background, this light will always turn on. If you did not grant the app permission to use it, you can go into settings and prevent the app from utilizing the microphone or camera.
