Loved this analysis and breakdown. I agree with you that Sidious really just didn't have the patience to deal with anyone that didn't bow down to him and consider themselves lucky enough to work with Palpatine. The way he takes down Plagueis as he's telling how much he hated him and he didn't need him anymore is truly the root of Sidious' downfall and worst qualities. He's a perfect villain that you truly do hate in all the right ways.

One of the things I've noticed about the emperor is that he above almost everything else values order. The stormtroopers are a pure white, officer are a steel gray and pitch black with his personal guards be an unblemished red. His military lacks individuality and everything feels sterile. His his represents order in its most controlling and tyrannical form. Bounty hunters on the other hand are freelancers, they have no set standard and their loyalty is to credit and their own morals. In the clone wars a bounty hunter helped defend a village from pirates by working with obi wan, Anakin and Ashoka. That same bounty hunter became part of the team to kidnap the chancellor. Bounty hunters were nothing but chaos to him.

I think it makes sense that sidious wouldn’t use bounty hunters but Vader would. If you’re in sidious’s position, why send a bounty hunter when you can send a sith?

I would have thought that Darth Sidious would have liked Bounty Hunters

I would guess form some of the later Clone Wars cartoon series episodes that he was especially annoyed with Mandalorian bounty hunters, as he was especially brutal to them when he went to lay the law down for Maul and Savage Opress. He probably sees them as a general distraction to his own efforts and their isolationism doesn't help much either. He can see that they are skilled, as much as any soldier, but that is a low bar from Sidious given his thoughts on ordinary people of the galaxy. :)

Before the clone wars, Darth maul worked alongside bountyhunters, such as cad, bane and many others he employed their services in order to hunt a Jedi Padawan, who is being sold at a auction in order to kill her so he could satisfy his blood lust for Jedi blood

Siddious understands the benefits and the perils of bounty hunters and allowed Dooku and Vader to use them so long as he didn't have deal with them directly. He did benefit from their use no matter who hired them.

It fits with his disappointment with the Empire as whole. Sidious preferred that people performed and events unfolded perfectly and anything less displeased him. Even the best bounty hunters could be fail or execute a mission less than flawlessly which could leave a complication what would have to be dealt with. A good example of this is the tracking of the Millenium Falcon in order to use Han and Leia to lure Luke to Vader. Ultimately Luke got away but the bounty was still paid and the Empire was stuck with the occupation of Cloud City.

Makes sense that a man who can pretty much trust no one would hate the most untrustworthy people in the Star Wars galaxy.

I think he prefers his own personal people from his circle doing things...Bounty hunters have no true side but there own and Palpatine knows this wich made him want his own empire even more having to hire them while he was still a double agent.

I'm not surprised that sidious would be against bounty hunters ok if successful but too much loose ends if they fail and because they are getting paid loyalty wasn't in them they were about getting paid so for sidious I can see why he didn't like bounty hunters so making use of them when he finally got the empire he no longer needed them and most sith liked to be hidden if bounty hunters found it out they would expose this see if the Jedi would of been smart they would of used this to their advantage so palpatine probably saw that this could happen but thankfully didn't so he also saw a potential liability as well so I see where Darth sidious (palpatine) was coming from

Palpatine certainly isn't known for his honesty, trustworthiness, or acting for a better cause, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he just didn't like that these hunters simply worked for money. Mercenaries are efficient, but only so long as you are paying them something that they want, and then more of it than the opposition. Some wouldn't stay well employed of they changed sides every time someone else upped the pay potential, but it's always a risk when they aren't fighting for something they believe in, or have more invested than simply getting paid. Some also lack the convenient opportunity to threaten, since they may have no family, or other things you can hurt to get at them. Palpatine seemed to like knowing he could exact control, and punishment on those who failed him, but that meant having something he could take away, and the likes of Boba Fett wouldn't lose more than money, or maybe a bit of their rep, which could hurt, but could be rebuilt.

Palpatine is certainly twisted and evil. But sometimes made me stop and think.

Yeah, Sidious reminds me of military officers to a degree. At least the "entitled-feeling-better-than-thou" officers that have been coming from West Point lately. They feel like they're too important to deal with anything or anyone not concerning their rank directly or someone senior to them, but absolutely expect whatever their will is to be done quickly and without hesitation. The biggest difference I see is that when Sidious fucks up, he has everyone involved eliminated. But when these West Pointers fuck up, they blame EVERYONE junior to them and take zero accountability for their bad planning.

Very interesting because from the sources I read the Bounty Hunters Guild complied with the Empire when it came to regulation and did not accept payments from the Rebel Alliance. Due to the nature of the bounty hunting business you would think the guild would operate independently and neutrally like the Bothan Spynetwork which the Empire allowed to operate independently due to the nature of their activities.

Tbf Sidious pretty much hated anyone who wasn't himself in canon, or aligned fully with the sith if we're talking about legends Palpatine and even then he only deemed a few of those people worth his praise.

Them having to rely on bounty hunters should have been proof enough the rule of 2 was a horrible idea. I would imagine, as a Sith, Sidious despised depending on anyone. That's why he was working towards becoming an invisible God. The sith are solitary and Sidious wanted to be able to move and manipulate the galaxy at his own pleasure by his will alone.

i dident know boba fett acctualy fought vader at a point. that shows how skilled he realy is beeing able to escape Darth Vader. the fact that vader is also willing to work with him afther that (atleat i would think it happend before the capture of Han Solo shows that vader did have some level of respect in fetts skills and found fett more usefull alive than dead even afther their conflict. That is saying alot. we do see some of his skills in some of the novels like the ones where jason falls to the dark side or the vong war. it just that some of the novels set to afther battle of yaven shows him beeing defeated by the Han, luke or other characters several times (well the bountyhunter guilde related books shows his proves to ofc)

Because his real dream wasn't ruling over the galaxy, no he wanted a much more care free & exciting life as the top bounty hunter but plagueis had to go and ruin it for him making him a lowly little Sith Lord. No he wanted to be known and feared from the start and not hide and play the republic games like a good lil puppet tell he couldn't take it and forced shocked his master. But he was stuck with all that power and he couldn't just walk away to many people depended on him. You can see it started to take its toll on the like 65 year old man. Just look at his face, ew. 😂
